Been here for years, the staff is friendly and so caring. Dr. Farmiloe is excellent!

Awful and overpriced. Also, judgmental that you don't want to drop $3k each time you come on unnecessary testing. Not what they used to be.

I had my dog ???? medically treated as well as groomed here. I was very happy with the outcome of both. Only the drop off and pick up process due to COVID19 has lots of room for improvement.

Buyer beware? More like buyer stay far, far away. I received nothing more than abysmal care and customer service from Port Washington Animal Hospital. From the tests done incorrectly to tests ordered without authorization; from the undereducated staff who ordered said tests to the absolutely atrocious bedside manner (if you can even call it that) of Dr. Ezell; from the 1990s technological capabilities to the emotionally unstable staff, this is by far the worst animal hospital I have ever been to or heard of. We took our dog in for a suspected condition and had tests that have nothing to do with that condition done without our permission (so much so that they were eventually refunded). Once the legitimate tests came back “negative” (though we subsequently discovered that the test was done incorrectly), we had a licensed (I assume) veterinarian say that since “the test was negative” the condition “could really be anything,” including a tumor that, given its location on my dog’s body, would be extremely challenging to surgically remove, if not inoperable. After delivering this news, the “doctor” made a snarky dad joke as a sign off. As someone who works in healthcare I know firsthand that it is both excellence of practice and compassion of healthcare delivery that makes a great medical professional. The staff at Port Washington Animal Hospital have neither. If you care about your animals and your own sanity, I strongly encourage you to drive a bit further afield and visit West Hills Animal Hospital, where your family member will be cared for with the utmost professionalism and you will receive expert care from individuals who are passionate about their chosen profession, share your concern and personally invest in your pet’s outcomes, and work at the very top of their accreditation. If I could find out if anyone at Port Washington Animal Hospital is affiliated with AVMA, I would send them a formal complaint – unsurprisingly, this accreditation is either nonexistent or not visible so, for now, this will have to suffice.

I have a crazy husky that’s terrified of getting his nails cut. They handled it like a pro and had him in and out in five minutes! Definitely recommend!

Best pet care! Always attentive to our dog's needs. You can tell every professional in the place wants the best for our dog. Very confident we're getting the best care.

This is the best animal hospital that we’ve been to so far! I came in for my mother’s dog “Snoopy” who needed his bloodwork taken and some vaccines that were overdue. I definitely recommend Dr.Farmiloe as he took his time and was very thorough with his examination. But the Vet Technician named George that was with us was by far the best at handling “Snoopy” and the bond between them was something I’ve only seen him do to only a couple other people! All of the previous hospitals had to put on a muzzle for everything he came in for and so far this was the only place that was able to take care of him without one! It’s hard to find a hospital that knows how to handle a nervous dog like him with the care and level of understanding that they both performed. It’s a definite 5 stars from us!!! Thank you Dr. Farmiloe and George for taking such great care of Snoopy!!!

Nice staff and Doctor's and a big plus for me is that they're open until 8 p.m. several nights a week (which is at least an hour or two longer than other local veterinariany clinics). They even have hours on Sundays for emergencies and the receptionists are very friendly and accommodating when you call for an appointment or even at the last minute with a legitimate concern. It's been my experience ,as a pet owner of 25 years , that veterinary offices will tend to discourage you from coming in after a certain hour , say they're overbooked if you need a same-day appointment or point you in the direction of a super expensive after-hours veterinariany emergency hospital rather than squeeze you in after let's say 6 p.m. This is not the case at Port Washington Animal. True animal lovers and kind people. A little bit on the expensive side for some of their services but nothing crazy. Good place.Late hours

AVOID. Cat died of tumor and many other problems after vet told us everything was normal. Please go elsewhere - it could save your pets life. Update - my cat recently passed away after Dr. Ezell told us he was just "getting old" and everything was normal. This "vet" didn't offer to do anything to actually check our cat's health. We trusted this vet (as you should be able to) so we didn't get an immediate second opinion. Later we took him somewhere else and found out he had blood sugar problems, a tumor, and more issues that could have been helped if found sooner, but now it was too late. If we had gone to a different vet instead of wasting our time at this horrible, horrible excuse for a veterinary office, we might have had a chance to save our cat. This loss has been so painful and I can't say how much I regret going to this vet. Please, please if you care about your pets don't go to this awful place. Original Review: I should have read reviews before taking my cat to this vet. We took our senior cat in because he's been having walking problems and growing warts. Dr. Ezell made us feel crazy for bringing him in for these concerns and told us that it's just what happens when a cat is old and fat (over and over and over again mentioning just how fat our cat is). We thought we might be crazy until we spoke to another vet who offered a senior wellness exam and thyroid test among other things. Dr. Ezell just wanted us out of his office, what a waste of $75.00 just to be told our cat is old and fat with a vet who didn't spend more than 15 minutes with us.

I have been going to port Washington animal hospital for 25 years for all my fur babies. Doctors are compassionate and take time to answer all questions and concerns.

Dr farmville has been our vet for almost 23 years. He is knowledgeable and doesn't over prescribe. We have insurance, so even though we pay up front, we are reimbursed for covered procedures. A team of the doctors- so always someone to cover emergencies

Great animal hospital in Port. A bit outdated in terms of decoration - so a little offputting from that perspective particularly when we walked in first time. Other than that, very convenient location and great service

Terrible bedside manner. Cares very little for animals well-being. Zero compassion. I took my dog there for years and when I recently repeatedly told the Vet something was wrong with my dog, after one set of test, I was told nothing was wrong with him. My dog got progressively worse so I went to a new vet who actually listened to me and escalated the testing until finally, an ultrasound discovered multiple, large tumors in my dog's abdomen and I had to put him to sleep the next day. If Port Washington Animal hospital had cared when I first identified that my dog was not behaving normally, perhaps this could have been avoided. Avoid this place. If selecting no stars was an option, I'd take it but this site forces you to select at least one.

My wife and I have taken her “guide dogs” to the Animal Hospital for over eight years. They are wonderful caring people from the receptionist staff and the Techs to the the Doctors. Dr. Ann and Dr. Ezell have always been compassionate and thorough. When our last dog got sick they were always there for us. Dr. Ezell treated him like he was own pet and guided us through the steps we had to take. Even after he was gone Dr. Ezell’s expressions of sympathy were heart-felt. We will always appreciate that. The Drs and staff show the same concern and competence with her new dog.

Terrible experience. My family has taken our dogs here for a long time. Recently my cat became ill and I decided to bring her to the PW Animal hospital... the receptionist did not even greet me and my sick animal. She kept answering phones that were ringing. When she finally acknowledged I was there she asked me my last name, I told her my last name however this particular pet has never been here before. She proceeded to “huff” at me and roll her eyes and told me “ well your going to have to wait” there was not one other person in the waiting area and the vets were walking around seemingly unbusy. She proceeded to answer phones. I took my bag and walked straight out and will never step foot in there again, I highly recommend the Feline Animal Hosptial on PW boulevard they treated me with such kindness and went above and beyond to care for my sick pet.
