Dr. Gillan is awesome! I went with an emergency rescue cat, and he took me in right away. I am very grateful for all he has done for my pets and appreciate him, immensely. He's been my vet for years. He is very caring, thorough, accommodating, and very sweet. I have recommended him to many friends, and they are very happy with the medical care he provides his patients. His staff is very professional and helpful. I highly recommend, Dr. Gillian.

Let me first start off by saying I love Dr. Gillen. He is very kind. I would give him five stars alone. Let me also say that my late parents and I have been taking various family pets to Bergenline Animal Hospital since 1994 -- nearly 30 years. What happened today left me so angry and sad, though. It has left me reeling. I was taking my new dog, Jack, to get some of his shots and for his general check-up. I was given a certain appointment time. Now, I'm working a hybrid schedule, and the only day for me to run errands (such as taking my dog to the vet early in the morning/during lunch/or after work) is on Fridays. I have an incredibly tight schedule. I called in 10 minutes before Jack's allotted time to say I was early, and could I drop him off? Not only did Gail (who btw is incredibly rude) say I couldn't drop him off early (which is understandable), she also said he may not be able to keep his current allotted time and I would either have to re-schedule or just not take him, period. I angrily responded that I had very limited time. If they were running late with other pets, that's fine, but why didn't they call me and other patients to let us know?!? It was just lacking respect. Finally, my partner called (I knew I'd get too angry if I called back, risking Jack not being seen at all) to diplomatically ask if I could please drop my dog off at the allotted time. He got a really nice lady named Ashley, who was very professional. There was no reason for Gail, who frequently has attitude problems, to have spoken to me the way she did. There was also no reason for her to even suggest that my dog wouldn't be seen if I kept up with my "mouth." Mind you, I could have handled it a bit better. I own that. However, Gail introduced the attitude and sounded like she really couldn't care less. Folks, customer courtesy matters. This is why after nearly 30 years (and as heartbreaking as it is), I'm going to be forced to look for another clinic to take my dog and cats to.

Thieves. Simply thieves. They tell one thing over the phone just to get you in and when you actually go there they say something different. I don’t recommend.

Dr. Gillen and his staff are friendly and always take good care of my cat, Genie, whenever I bring her for a check-up. This isn’t an easy task since she is super aggressive at the vet but they handle her well!! ???????? Thank you BAH!

I brought my 18 year old cat to have a dental cleaning because he was showing some discomfort after eating. Dr. Gillen was very kind and informative and recommended a diet change before the procedure. I was really amazed that Bill (my cat) was 100% back to his normal self the next morning with no signs of discomfort! The staff was very friendly throughout the process. I’ve had a hard time finding a good vet, and I’ll definitely be bringing Bill back to Dr. Gillen from now on. Highly recommended!

If I could give 0 star's I would! I called because my dog has a problem that could get worse with time and I was told april. When I explained that the condition could worsen she then told me to try a vet further away from me and said maybe they have more than 1 doctor

My dog has had a UTI for 2.5 Months thanks to this office. TO CURE A UTI IT TOOK 2.5 MONTHS DESPITE BI-WEEKLY VISITS??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely pathetic. I had to beg for medicine, get additional tests, & return to the pharmacy over and over. It wasn’t until I became infuriated and demanded things through my own research that my pup got better. It seems like the vet was either biased, money hungry, or incompetent. Either way, I’m never coming here again. If you want to slowly torture your already sick companion this is the exact place to come.

I trusted this vet with my dogs health and my dog died under his care as a result of my trust in Dr Gillam's knowledge as a vet. My tiny dog's 5lb decrease in weight and increasing kidney values should have been ample evidence that my dogs heart medicine dosage, which was initially determined when she was 5lbs heavier and never adjusted since her initial diagnosis, was too much/too high for a tiny but now skinnier dog to tolerate. Even I, a person with no medical training, knew that a 5lb drop in weight for a tiny dog is an enormous change and should warrant a change in her dosage level. I raised this concern 2x with doctor Gillam and both times he didn't think it was necessary to adjust the dosage level. By this time, it was too late - her kidney values were already too high to reduce through an adjustment of her medicine dosage level. My dogs last visit with Dr Gilliam was on a Friday morning before my dog's Sunday evening admission into Oradell animal ER / hospital 2 days later. As I do after every vet appointment and I did again on this Friday morning vet visit with Dr Gilliam, was request my dogs bloodwork report be sent immediately to me once it's available. I was told the bloodwork report would be available the following day (Saturday) but it was never sent to me as promised. Had it been sent to me as requested, I may have discovered my dogs extremely high kidney values sooner (Saturday) and brought her immediately to Oradell but instead a day and a half of valuable time was wasted and could have been better used at Oradell to help my dog. That wasted day and half I watched my dogs health deteriorate before my eyes until I finally made the decision that Sunday evening to bring her to Oradell. 2 days later she was dead. If given the opportunity to do it all over again, I'd definately make different decisions about my dogs care and the trust I place in her vets. I believe Dr Gillam was wrong and he fail me and my dog, and I should have gone to a different vet for a 2nd opinion. I've learned poor decisions lead to permanent consequences. The decisions I made regarding my dogs health can not be changed and everyday now I must live with the pain of not having my baby around. I've posted this to provide others with my experience with Dr Gillams vet practice and for them to draw their own conclusions about decisions that truely have life or death consequences. In my opinion, based on the experienced described above with Dr Gilliam, I would not recommend anyone put their precious babies health under his care.

Love everything about this place. How organised they are, the staff themselves, the doctor and even the pet cats inside. Only thing I would change is the name. Its misleading lol. A animal "hospital" that can't do much for a actual emergency. (At least in my case.) I want to mention the doctor is great with explaining to me certain things in a way I can understand. Although I kept my questions short an to the point I always feel like they are willing to answer what ever i ask.

If your dog is healthy this place is fine. If not... prepare for the worst. You are going to watch your dog suffer nearly to death if you don't seek other opinions soon. After several visits during COVID-19 and my dogs poor treatment by Dr. Gillen; I scheduled an appointment a new vet with quite the waiting line. My 13 y/o dog has complications with Diabetes and was given a Dermal Sensor to help read her glucose level. While waiting to see the new Veterinarian, her health has continued to decline (due to not being treated properly). I called this butcher shop to refill her RX for the sensor to monitor her sugar. They refused to give my dog services because I said I was taking her elsewhere, and responded with "You said it yourself, Dr. Gillen is incompetent". Yes, he is very incompetent and turns out the entire office is too. I don't understand why they would rather see my dog slowly continue to suffer and possibly die when they have the ability to help. Her sugar is dangerously out of control to where she is becoming immobile :((((( Legit this place only works if your dog is healthy and fine. Otherwise, they don't aid or help sick pets.
