A friend suggested we take a shot at University and it has been a match made in heaven. They greet with a smile, stay on schedule, and keep impeccable notes so if either of the primary Docs see Max, they are on track right away. I can't say enough about their expertise, post-care check-ins and responsiveness. Thinking back, our last vet, franchised, was a cartoon, compared to University's professionals. Great service still exists!

I took my Yorkie there for 5 years. Dr Zola is very good but his ex wife, who manages the office, is abusive. One day, I was very concerned about my dog and they kept promising to call me back. When they didn't, I called them and I was angry that nobody called me. Lisa, the ex wife, didn't like my attitude regarding the lack of response and she banned me. She sent me the records 5 minutes later and left me a message that I couldn't go back after 5 years!!!!! That shows no regard to my dog who went to Dr Zola since birth. Lisa put my dog care at risk so beware of her. She ruined everything for me and my poor dog.

University Animal Hospital is really dedicated to their patients. I brought my dog there and everyone could not have been any more welcoming which really put her at ease. So much she lights up when she comes into the office! The doctor I see is incredibly diligent and I could not ask for a better experience during a really scary moment in time! Thank you!

Dr. Lawrence Zola is a true professional, with extensive experience in the veterinary field. He treats each pet individually and with great care. I brought my entire cat+dog family to Dr. Zola who quickly became our family doctor! Clean, organized clinic with great staff.

Dr. Chan at University Animal Hospital has been caring for my rescue dog for over a year. He is knowledgeable and caring. He follows up, returns phone calls and replies to emails. I am very pleased with the care my dog has received.

We had an excellent experience at UAH. The entire staff was pleasant, professional and responsive. We were a first time client planning to travel overseas with our dog and they treated us as family. Thank you for responding quickly to my many questions. A+ across the bord.

We came to University Animal Hospital as we needed an International health Certificate for our French Bulldog so we could take her to Portugal with us. Our request for an appointment was last minute, but the team fit us in and then went above and beyond to provide us with the best service possible. I highly recommend them.

I have always the most positive experience from UAH services. Everyone is so professional especially in emergencies, reminders and consultation with the doctors. I highly recommend UAH for your pet care. A real 5-star! A million takes to Allyssa, Dr. Dennis Chan and Dr. Lawrence Zola.

I highly recommend this animal hospital for International travel. From the first day of check up visit to the departure date they were very efficient, and helpful. I got my papers right on time. I will definitely spread the word to my NY French community !!

Every visit to this office confirms my trust and comfort with this Dr Zola and their wonderful staff. From the timely reminders and confirmation for appointments to the follow up with results and satisfaction, the office provides fabulous care . The office staff is friendly and informative and has a great sense of humor even when my dog left a gift on the waiting room floor! The doctors answer any and all Questions and give helpful advice for pet care. I had an emergency visit during COVID and they were amazing even in the middle of a pandemic with limited office staff and complicated situations due to the restrictions . Five starts ! Can’t imagine going anywhere else for my pet care !

My very old dog had developed a strange patina over her eye (just one) and it wasn’t glaucoma or cataracts. No one seemed to know what it was and it developed over 9 months. The medicine that was suggested had no effect. I was prepared to go to a dog eye hospital for a gasp inducing $500 fee when I was told that Dr Zola had a special interest in dog eye health and might be able to suss it out. He reviewed the other vet’s tests and opinions, found a small mass on the inside of the eyelid that had been missed altogether, and diagnosed it as an age related deterioration of the cornea that was not able to be treated medically. He did not suggest surgery at her age and I walked out (with Pet Assure) with a bill that was 1/4 of what I would have paid otherwise. He was very professional, the place was spotless, and he is a PennVet graduate. I recommend him without reservation. Such a friendly vet operation- A+

We needed to find an accredited vet to help us prep our cat for an international travel. We didn't have much time (only 1.5 months). University Animal Hospital was the only vet (we called over 7+) to not only return our call immediately but to also help us step by step. Will choose their services for anything our cat needs moving forward. When we went to their hospital we were greeted with professional, kind and helpful vets who made this process very easy! Thank you for all you do!!

So many dogs are terrified of coming to the vet. Mine? Forgets all of her manners because she is so excited to see the team at UAH. The minute we make it on the block she is bristling with enthusiasm to get to and through the door. She then proceeds to try to zip around the desk to say hello to the front desk team. The front desk team always greets us warmly and are great to chat with if you have to wait. Dr. Zola spent considerable time with me when I brought her home at three months old going through all of her vaccinations, giving me advice on things to look out for with the breed (brachycephalic French Bulldogs and all the breathing issues!), making a plan for her to be spayed (so many different opinions out there!), and being just generally warm, funny and friendly. Her spay surgery went very well. They kept her overnight and gave me updates throughout the day. She barely has a scar. She sees Dr. Chan regularly now who has been fantastic at helping to resolve some allergy and dermatitis issues she's had. I appreciate how good they are about knowing when to have you visit the office vs giving you advice on the phone (my wallet appreciates that too!). Last but certainly not least . . . Gracia. My pup is in love with Gracia who provides grooming at UAH and really gives the dogs a true s-paw day. Her ears perk up if she hears Gracia's voice while at UAH. Its really adorable and a testament to how warm and loving she is with your pet. I highly recommend the team at UAH to any pet parents -- they really make your pet feel like they are at home.

Since writing our earlier review, we had two more Vet appointments. One was for standard checkup shots and was smooth and professional The other just past was a potential emergency- Sugar Plum is a delicate Persian and is prone to respiratory issues. They made an appointment right away and she responded immediately and stopped coughing and wheezing and we are thankful for the successful visit. Again I highly recommend them. We recently had a potential emergency with our new kitten Sugar Plum. Not only were they able to provide us with an immediate appointment for our first visit but was handled very professionally. The entire staff was responsive, helpful and of course we were relieved and happy all was well. We are happy to have found them and will be Sugar's Vet home. They had been recommended to us and we will recommending them to other pet owners if asked.

Good, responsive veterinarian. Wasted no time babying us or our cats. They provided a good, swift service and the cats recovered very well from shots and chip placing. They were on time and answered our questions.

I don’t recommend coming here if you have a cat. The doctor seemed to not care, barely touched our cat and offered extremely expensive screenings that really aren’t necessary. Just a way to make us pay. When we admit that it’s pricey couldn’t even offer alternatives or places that are better suited for our case. I don’t think he likes for cats and it showed in the lack of care. But the place is clean and the rest of the staff was kind

Recently adopted a dog and took her to Dr. Zola for a well-visit appointment to establish care. He was very thorough, gave thoughtful recommendations, and addressed all my concerns. The staff at the front desk are all very kind and call after each appointment to follow up. Would definitely recommend Dr. Zola who on top of everything is hilarious.

We've been taking our rescue pit bull Kona to UAH for two years now, and I cannot recommend this practice enough. The entire staff is wonderful to work with, they're always empathetic to any concerns we have, and exams are very thorough. You and your pet will be in truly great hands!!

If you wanna think that your pet is dying go to this clinic. I was traveling from California and my puppy had a broken leg for a month and she had her vet in CA, taking X-Rays every week making sure that it’s aligned and healing. We had to travel to New York for a month and had to find a vet to fo the check ups and change the splinter since she was growing. We visited a dr in this clinic and he started to look at her old X-Rays saying that she needs a surgery and her leg is not aligned and it’s not healing whereas her dr in CA told me that it’s healing great. He said I won’t do anything for your puppy today and he still charged us ~150$ for just panicing and scaring us. Her splinter was coming off and he didn’t even agreed to change that even though we said we are traveling and don’t have car and it was raining And cold and didn’t have any appointment with another vet. We took her to an animal hospital two blocks down and after 4-5 hrs and taking a new X-Ray and paying $600 more a surgeon saw her and said it’s perfectly healing and it is aligned and she doesn’t even need a splinter anymore and she can start walking. I highly recommend not visiting this place just due to the fact that this dr was too conservative and scared of doing anything despite his years of experience!!!

We can’t say enough GREAT things about this wonderful place! We always feel so good and safe coming here with our senior rescue Cooper. They really, truly care about pets and also about us owners. We came in with our rescue Maltese and Dr. Bucalo and her team truly went out of their way to make Coopy better and help us in our situation! Dr. Bucalo went the extra mile to make our doggie a happy, healthy boy! We can’t thank her enough! They treat pets with SO much love and care, we feel so grateful to have found such a valuable and special place in the city. We 100% trust Dr. Bucalo and her team and know that they’ll do anything to make our poochie happy and healthy. They treat the pets with so much love, respect, and care! We are truly so very grateful to University Animal Hospital and Dr. Bucalo for all they’ve done for our little boy! Can’t recommend University Animal Hospital enough!!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! ????????????????

I've lived in three different states in the last 2 years and have been to numerous vets for my dog Rustie, and I can tell you that my experience at University Animal Hospital is comparable to none! Dr. Zola is incredibly intelligent, friendly, straight-forward, and credible. He answered all of my worried dog mom questions and was able to guide me through different options for vaccinations and care. The staff is also very welcoming and friendly, and it is outwardly obvious how much everyone at UAH genuinely loves animals.

Our Letty loves going to UAH for all her shots and exams. She walks right in because everyone there is friendly and competent. She has always been diagnosed correctly and never had any issues with prescribed medications. We recommend UAH to all our animal loving friends. And, of course, the treats are always the best.
