Riverside Animal Hospital North New York, New York

We happily took our two dogs to Riverside for years, and always loved it there. The vets and staff were friendly, responsive, kind, caring, and thorough. When Covetrus took over, everything went downhill FAST. Not only has there been a huge turnover of staff (Covid has obviously effected this, but it's abundantly clear that there are other issues behind the scenes), and it's become increasingly frustrating trying to deal with them. Our older dog is on a very basic prescription, and Riverside has continually tried to force us to fill the prescription through them. In the past, they had written prescriptions for us to bring to the pharmacy where the medication was much more affordable. The last time tried to re-up her prescription, we asked that they send to our pharmacy as they had before. The staff at Riverside told us that wasn't a problem, but it never happened, even after repeated follow-ups. We were forced to purchase it directly through them, at a cost about 4x higher than at the pharmacy. The worst part was that after NOT sending the script to the pharmacy as they had promised, they neglected to tell us that it wasn't happening, and we were unable to get the medication for a longer period of time. Luckily this medication wasn't life-supporting. If it had been, Riverside's complete lack of communication could have had serious consequences. We're now actively looking for a better vet that will actually talk to us, and do what they say they're going to do. Sorely disappointed in the loss of a once-loved neighborhood vet.

The staff is very helpful and kind to me during my past few visits.

We took our dog and cat to the Riverside Animal Hospital North to get checked out and apply for a health certificate for them to travel to Europe. Our initial visit with Dr. Abramov was great. She is professional, knowledgeable and personable. She explained the process, what to expect and answered all our questions. Next, we had to deal with an application to the USDA through the vet. During this process. I was worried particularly because everything fell over the holiday season (Christmas-NY).That said, we were lucky to be in the hands Mr. Judah Cummings, who is the hospital manager at Riverside. He communicated with me often, updating me of the changes and he let me know when the certificate was ready. The whole process took about 3 weeks and during this time, we were thoroughly impressed by the compassion and expertise displayed by the Riverside team. Overall, extremely satisfied with our experience and would highly recommend them.

While I got lost and was late, they still saw my dog and greeted me pleasantly. The Vet was kind and great with explaining what he thought was going on. I was most appreciative.

Our regular Vet was booked when our pup had a mass on him rupture. This Vet not only has scheduled appointments but also has emergency services so for a fee he was able to be seen sooner in the day rather than the later appointment time they had. The staff is so nice, and Doctor we saw really wonderful. Even though he was in for an emergency service she really took the time with him and had several general helpful things to offer to help keep our little guy in the best health he can be. Our usual Vet is much further and we are excited at having found a new home closer to ours with such good staff.

Great staff, great vet, I was very happy with my experience there.

Was shocked/disappointed today 11/24/21 to learn you wanted to charge $338 to euthanize a 5 pound cat who has very few natural days left no matter what. We had no other choice but to just walk out. I couldn't bother to calculate the tax and other costs on top of that. We *really* miss Drs. K. and Raclyn and I ABHOR what this place has become thanks to the investors who bought the practice (apparently motivated to achieve obscene profit margins.) If I could give a negative star I would. You should reconsider what you are doing. It is shameful.

Our beloved old (16) ill cockapoo had to be put down to end her suffering. It's a terrible time for her owners, but they managed it with great sensitivity, and respect for our sick little dog. My wife and I were present when they did it and we are most grateful for their help at a difficult time.

We love RAH they always have a wonderful staff & Dr.'s. We have taken our last two dogs there for all visits and our newest was neutered & they did everything possible to ensure she would withstand the procedure. We highly recommend them. Bravo!!! Great team! Thank you!

We brought our lab as an emergency visit first thing in the morning with no appointment. They were so welcoming and caring of our very sick dog. They even picked her up and carried her to the exam room for us since she was unable to walk on her own and she weighs 60 lbs. The doctor was amazing and did everything he could to make sure she got all the care that was needed. They are compassionate and caring group and I highly recommend anyone take their pets there for emergency, or well visits.

This place is amazing! They are so caring and helpful! I rescued 3 kittens off the street and needed to get them checked out at the vet as soon as possible so I can find them a forever loving home while they are still kittens (higher likelihood of being adopted). I called my usual vet that I go to for my 2 resident cats, but they were booked through end of Jan (I rescued the cats end of Nov). I called around 4 other places and no one answered or got back to me. Riverside Animal Hospital North answered right away and they were able to get me in for an apt the following week. As soon as I get to Riverside, I'm seen immediately even though there are multiple emergencies the doctor is handling (my usual vet, I have to wait an hour at least just to be see ). Sean, who was the vet technician, was so loving with the kittens and was helping me figure out how to best afford everything given I have 3 kittens that needed to be spayed and neutered. I told him that I needed to find a forever loving home for them and he immediately started thinking of solutions and spoke with Dr. Cohen. Dr. Cohen came in and she was very helpful and attentive, as well as solution oriented. They were able to find a loving home during my apt for 2 kittens (Sean adopted one and another technician adopted the other, and I adopted the 3rd). They literally made my day and couldn't help but cry tears of joy because I knew the kittens found their forever homes! I will definitely be bringing all of my cats here in the future! They are stellar! If you are looking for a vet, you need to come here!!!

New Patient Dog Visit. I was looking for a new vet in my area and found Riverside North. Glad I did. They (front desk, doctor, tech staff) were friendly, responsive, efficient, and affordable. They explained the exam, what would happen, how long it would take, asked me questions, confirmed my understanding and asked if I had any questions. We will be back. Thank you for your great service!

We’ve been bringing our pup Tzatziki since he was 2 months and the service has always been great. Caring staff that treat each puppy like their own.

I had a wonderful experience at this clinic today! The older woman vet was very direct & knowledgeable which I appreciate a lot. What stood out most was the vet nurse along side her, not only was she pleasant, pretty, and gentle; my dog felt so at ease and calm around her. Overall lovely facility, highly recommend and will be back soon for our annual check up with our kitty next. Hope to get this dynamic duo again, but everyone seemed lovely here!

Leonardo received excellent care. He was given vaccinations for the next three years and his nails were groomed as a curtesy. The staff is caring and gentle. Thank you for all that you do for all our Pets!

There is always a kind caring atmosphere here. Dr Raclyn and his very professional staff provide treatment and advice. They have always been able to fit my furball on the schedule. The day after you pet is seen, there is a follow up call. They really like animals. Things have changed a bit. I was waiting for an invite to the exam room; it never came. I don't know what happened. The doc did come out and speak with me at length, but I had no focus because it was after the exam. I provided immunizarion info, but it was not updated. Everyone was attentive and courteous, but there is a distance. COVID? Prices are tripled at least. They no longer accept Pet Assure (disclosed after the visit).

In my mind they were very expensive wet by appointment no AC during a heatwave didn't take care of my cat the right way I get them bad reviews

I have been taking my dog to Riverside animal Hospital (108th & Broadway) for 6 years now. I could not be any happier. I have had dogs all of my life so I've dealt with vets all of my life and I can honestly say this has been the best experience of them all.

The new vet Dr. B is likeable and seems very knowledgeable. After going to the same vet for thirty years going to someone new is an adjustment. But both Moxie and I liked Dr. B. He is kind and instills confidence. (Moxie was told she needs to lose one pound. She took it well. The doc told her diplomatically with no fat shaming.) happy we have found a vet we like who is near our home. Thanks Dr. B

We follow dr. Babaev from his previous practice in Brooklyn. We love his gentle approach to our dog Kali who has a very high anxiety when visiting a vet. He always explains everything and is very patient not only with the dog but owners too.

Extremely compassionate.They go out of their way to accommodate and help you.

I had a great experience here, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable and took good care of my furry baby. They were responsive and easy to talk to and ask questions. It’s definitely expensive, but it’s NYC, everything is expensive here.

Pure garbage now! The pandemic hit everyone, but this place went downhill.

Been taking my rescue dog here for years, but today the staff's dealing with his appt left much to be desired. He was in for two shots - regular stuff. I asked if I should leave once he was in the exam room and they said yes, come back in 10-15 minutes. 5 min later the doc called with routine questions, I couldnt hear and so went back to talk to him person. The dog was in another room waiting. After we finished talking and agreed on his two routine shots, they kept him waiting in a small exam room for over 30 minutes. I could hear him barking constantly. Going to the vet is stressful. An hour from check in, he was good to go - for two routine shots.
