Banfield Pet Hospital Mohegan Lake, New York

Well I have been there 3 times in less than a month. The trips there reminded me how expensive rescuing a dog ???? can be.

Love this place! They have the best staff and Dr B is awesome!

Everyone there is empathetic, enjoys what they do, and aims to be helpful to both the pet and the owner.

Dr. Blackler and all her assistants and staff are beyond amazing! They always have time for us and have been great with our pets passing and helping them stay healthy. I would not go anywhere else

I just called to fill my dogs prescription and was told that Dr. Rogers is no longer there. My dog was diagnosed with cancer back in December. Dr. Rogers was the one that's been taking care of my dog all this time. Can you please provide more detail as to what happened, and who will be taking over his responsibilities? My dog is 16 and I'm a little concerned about who will be stepping in. Thank you

My dog had cancer was brought here multiple times and was not diagnosed. Instead we were told it was a sport's injury. Today she is sick and they will not see here or even prescribe something that could help her. Terrible. We will not be back.

The hospital and the staff are okay, however there’s one vet who is horrible, he shouldn’t even practice anymore because he clearly does not care about his patients. We made a last minute appointment because we noticed our dog’s ear was dirty, red, and swollen. We figured he might have an infection and need antibiotics and a cleaning/soothing solution. They were able to fit us in for Tuesday of this week because there was a cancellation, but of course not with our preferred vet. Dr. Rogers saw my dog for 3-4 mins and gave him back and said there was nothing wrong with him. My husband asked if there was anything he can prescribe for the clear irritation my dog has. He rushed off and said “yeah there’s some over the counter medication over there” okay GREAT HELP he was. He’s supposed to check my dog well, take ear swabs, and prescribe medication, or at least make a suggestion about a specific OTC. What does he get paid for if he’s not actually being attentive to pets and their owners. This is not the first interaction we’ve had with him, he’s always shown a lack of concern for our pets. That’s is why we never take any appointment with him, but this time we had no choice. We have the WELLNESS PLAN for our pets, we pay monthly to be able to take them to get checked throughly when needed. Today, we took our dog to a DIFFERENT VET office because we believed something was wrong despite what this banfield vet said. We paid even more money, on top of the payment we do for the WELLNESS PLAN. This new vet did an excellent job checking on our dog, she came to speak to us multiple times to let us know what was going on. She took swabs of his ear and, he does in fact have a ear infection. If we would have listened to the banfield vet, the infection could have gotten worse. I attached 3 pictures of the infected ear and one of the healthy one, they are visibly different and hard to miss.

After more than 20 years taking my pets to Banfield I decided not going anymore.Discriminate place,treat my pets very bad.The app duration was less than 5 minute.A complete disaster there. ,bad service before COVID super bad now.

Great hospital. The Dr explained everything in detail about my dog cocos visit. Coco is usually afraid of vets but she was very calm at this location. The Doctors and staff are amazing. I will be returning with coco and my other pets. Helpful, Friendly and very informative.

i love this place ! i enjoy being greeted soon as i walk over & the receptionist knowing my dogs name ! into the amazing techs ! i have Dr.Blacker who is amazing ! but the whole team is excellent !

Good price for pet care.

The absolute worst vet I have ever been too. My puppy has the plan here and is almost one. The entire time I have had him he’s had a skin issue and ear problems and they first said it was skin mites then an allergy. I know it is difficult to determine but he has also had an ear infection each time he’s gone and it’s very noticeable because of the stuff coming out of his ear and the smell. They failed to recognize it TWICE and i’ve had to bring him back. They also told me he was fine when he was severely itchy, had an ear infection, and had patches of fur missing as well as the fur around his eyes missing. He was not fine and they are just awful. How do you send a dog home who’s suffering and say he’s fine? GO ANYWHERE ELSE. This place robs you of your money and doesn’t take proper care of your pet. They shouldn’t even be in business this is completely unacceptable.

Its always difficult to get an appointment. My dog went in for teeth cleaning and ended up loosing 4 teeth as a result of the cleaning. They did not do any follow up calls to check in on my dog after having undergone surgery. They only have open appointments if you are willing to leave your dog sitting in a kennel all day.

This place is the worst from the minute you walk to the counter, all the people have attitudes. They cant answer any questions about your pet or any concerns that you mat have. They had me wait for an hour an half and then told me that mydog wasn't due for wellness visit, when she had not had one for close to a year. I would never go back!!!!!!! I transferred everything to the Banfield in Mohegan Lakes. I'd rather drive an hour than go back to this place. Stay away!!!!!!!

I love Banfield. My chocolate lab Brooklyn has been going there since he was a puppy. The doctors and staff love animals. They are clinically sound. The monthly fee for vet care saves me a lot of money.
