I don’t understand some of the negative reviews, and I’m glad I didn’t pay attention to them! The vet and staff were so lovely and gave my dog care in a quick and compassionate manner. My dog was experiencing significant pain due to an ear infection and our normal vet was closed. Guardian quickly took her in and relived her pain and recommended an after care plan. I could not thank them enough! I typically don’t leave reviews but I was so happy with our experience, and my dog is happy too!

This place is a rip off. Maybe I don’t want to see a rip off I wanna say heartless. I brought my cat in because I knew something was caught in her throat and I was told nothing was in her throat she was having trouble breathing that I can do bloodwork and x-rays to find out why.So in believing this Dr. John and agreeing to some steroids and antibiotic that’s what she got and i brought her home. The next day I called to see how he determined that nothing was caught in her throat because there is and I was told he would call me back it has been six hours and I have not heard back from that Dr. John. Doing this to people especially the way the world is today I’ll never understand.I only had to give one star because it wouldn’t let me post to zero.

When our dog took a scary fall on New Year’s Eve night while we were on vacation in the Catskills, we took her here. The staff, particularly Cheryl, were calm and compassionate, especially when we had to leave Bella overnight so far from home. We couldn’t be happier with how Bella was treated or with the time the staff took to speak with us and explain her treatment.

We brought our 6 year old dog to guardian after he had a grand mal seizure on Thanksgiving for the first time. We were horribly upset and desperate to find someone to guide us and help Cooper. This hospital was great from the wait time, to Cheryl (who I believe is a vet tech, a great one), to the veterinarian. Cooper is a large, German shepherd mix and he can be fearful of people. The staff were wonderful with him and put him at ease. The examination was thorough and the recommendations were exactly what our personal vet later recommended. As a nurse, I am very careful about who takes care of my dog. I would absolutely use guardian again in the future. Thank you to the staff for helping us during a difficult time.

If I can give a minus star I would, I had to take my dog to Guardian for emergency services. What a disappointment, to start the web site states that they are open 24 hours WRONG they start at 6PM. I called to get my dog in because he had a very high fever as well as a cough which was raspy. They got him in and all that was done was a clinical exam temp, lungs, heart and weight. He did not cough while being examined, he was given a antibiotic as well as pain management meds and charged me 700.00 and I had no diagnosis. On leaving my dog started to cough and they did not get him back in to evaluate what was going on, they heard him and chose to ignore that he was coughing. They over charged for what was done and still did not diagnose. I will not recommend them nor will I ever use them again. They are no better that previous owners. Update... As for the lack of veterinarian care and lack of a diagnosis my dog DIED tonight without knowing what was wrong with him. 700.00 later NO DIAGNOSIS, NO DOG.

All they care about is money. They wouldn’t even take the cat I had that was in critical condition until I gave them my card and ID first. Every other vet I’ve been to, does not do this. On top of that they don’t have a payment program directly through them, every vet in 2021 does that I’ve been to, emergency or not lol. Greedy people that don’t care. Don’t bring your pet here if you care for them and I will be taking measures against this establishment! 3 times they walked out to my car before bringing in the cat! 3 times! They were trying to charge me $3,200 for things that would cost 1/4 or half as much else where MAX, AND THE VET “Dr. John” is a joke. No honor or dignity, literally became a vet just to take people’s money and not care for animals. Great guy.

If I could rate this a million I would, staff was quick and made me feel that my animal was safe in their care. Thank you one again to this amazing animal emergency hospital. They made sure my kitten was well taken care of and got everything she needed to feel better.

My cat Ziggy was hurt when I had to take him at night to the hospital. They immediately took us in and treated my boy. He ended up needing two procedures done, and today was the last day he needed to be seen to remove stitches. Every visit during this, the staff has been exceptional, and I am thankful for them taking the best care of ziggy. He is back to normal now and doing great.

I contacted Guardian Animal Hospital, Middletown, New York approximately 10 months ago with serious complaints. My complaints were not taken seriously with any respect, caring or concern. Three crude, rude, uncaring and unprofessional women are still employed by Guardian. I was not just a distraught client complaining out of grief and distress. I furnished a recording to back up the horrible treatment that I received and obviously many other people receive, based on all the negative reviews online for this Guardian facility. One women is very rude on the phone. The other women carried my dead dog in her arms to the front desk as I was exiting. As she was reaching for something on the desk, my dog’s head was falling down over her arm. She walked past my car as I sat in it composing myself, with a black garbage bag! The third women....When I asked her why she was speaking to me with a nasty tone, her reply, "people weren’t nice to me when my father died!! I replied to her, “what does that have to do with me or my dog dying tonight!!!" She said, “I just taught you a life lesson”!!! I provided a tape recording of that conversation and Guardian still did not do anything or care!!! Obviously they did nothing about it, because they those three women still work there!!! I was courteous and caring enough to bring this matter to management and not leave negative reviews online. Thus, giving them a chance to correct the horrible treatment that clients receive. Now I know why Guardian has a highly negative reputation and numerous negative reviews online. I did the right thing by notifying management /owner to correct the problems at this facility and not go public. My efforts fell on deaf ears from a management that is obviously uncaring and disinterested in the clients treatment and complaints. You would think that a business, a personal business especially, would make sure their staff is well trained and professional! I am required to give one star in order to post this review!

If your dog is dying and you know in your heart they have a chance bring your pet to monhagen or flannery ...they had no compassion they didn’t even try to help my puppy! They had my husband outside for 23 minutes and those 23 minutes could’ve saved my baby’s life????

I had to put my old dog down due to an emergency stroke and made an appointment at Guardian Emergency Vet. I was worried because I noticed the low ratings after I made my appointment. I stayed positive, and was so thankful I did because I had an amazing experience. All of the staff was so kind, compassionate, caring and professional. I would not have wanted my dog to have gone to any other place to be put to rest. Thank you for making this experience as comforting as possible.

The team at Guardian Veterinary Emergency is wonderful. They are extremely thorough and it's great to have a place open on weekends for emergencies. Would absolutely recommend!

Our beloved Golden was diagnosed with cancer and given a month or so, after only a few days she failed quickly and was struggling to breath, we didn't want her to suffer any further. It was Friday night of Labor Day weekend, our vet wasn't open, no local vets were. We called and they said come right in. She died on the way there. Cheryl and Lulu were so compassionate and couldn't have been more kind. They never knew our Maggie but treated her with so much respect and love as they took her from us. We were so grateful as it was such a stressful situation. Sincere thanks to both of them and their facility. She almost made it to 14 yrs old.

My 7lb dog ingested something toxic, within 10 minutes she had her first seizure, so scary, called this hospital, easy, safe (covid)procedure, took her in right away and she stayed overnight,I called every three hours,to check on her ,very easy, connection and comforting vet techs answered all questions with compassion. They saved my pups life and I got to pick her up the next day. As far as moneywise.. she's alive ,healthy... It was worth every penny

I was hesitant to go here with my dog because of the reviews. Well...I''m glad I gave it a chance. What a wonderful experience from start to finish. The tech was great, the vet was amazing. My dog is like my kid and these people really seemed to understand that. Wish I could give more stars!

I called to get my dog in for a rabbies booster. After coming in and waiting for an hour I was told their vaccines are expired. Huge waste of time, and gas money since this information could have been relayed on the phone

One star cause i cant leave less. They did absolutely nothing for my cat. They charged me 700 dollars to tell me they are a remote location and to go to brewster. My cat died at the door in brewster. This place should be shut down. It says emergency on the clinic. It should be a morgue.

After making many calls to find someone that could help me with a problem, I stumbled upon Guardian. What a blessing that was, the vet and staff were absolutely wonderful. Very informative, compassionate and reasonably priced. Will definitely recommend.
