Unfortunately back in Sept I had a sick, dying, 19 y/o cat. I was trying to get a hold of my regular vet, Dr. Perkins (who I love, was still going there even though I no longer live in the area) but couldn't get a hold of her and one way or another this couldnt wait. My furry friend who I had since 2002 was suffering, and either needed to be cured, or , unfortunately, sent to the big litter box in the sky I brought him here since I live in the area, and expected the worst, pull at your heartstrings, suggest a bunch of tests, procedures maybe even suggestions of surgery. I experienced NONE of that. Dr. Parver was straightfoward, and said "His kidneys are shutting down, his liver may have cancer, hes 19 years old, I probably couldn't keep him alive until Thanksgiving, If you decide to put him down, I wont judge you" So that was one of the worst decisions I had to make, but thats what I ended up doing. Having been through this before in 2001 with my last cat, I pretty much went in there figuring that was the end of my furry buddies life. He wasnt eating, couldnt walk, and drank water like he just walked through the Sahara (all signs of renal failure), I wanted to be sure if there was anything we could do, hence why I still had Dr. Parver examine him Unfortunately we didnt meet under the best circumstances, but I found Dr. Parver to be compassionate and fair, and his team professional. I've seen some negative reviews here regarding pricing. Hello, have you looked at the ripoff real estate in the area ? I'm sure his rent/mortgage isn't cheap. I found his pricing in line what what I would've paid elsewhere. I also liked his wearing of a baseball cap. Breaks the ice and gives a vibe of "Hey I'm a regular guy, just like you" If I ever get another pet, I'd definitely go here

Dr.Parver misdiagnosis my cat.He kept telling me to come back for blood work.then after two visit he wanted to do a chest X-ray.Brought her to vet in douglaston.the doctor felt her stomach and felt a lump she did one quick test and revealed cancer.Dr. Parker kept prolonging, to make money.Everyone in my neighborhood warned me about him.I thought I would use him because of the reviews. But then again his reviews might be fake.Coming from workers and etc.

FANTASTIC DOCTOR AND FANTASTIC PERSON. I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Parver’s medical proficiency, the first and foremost thing we seek in a veterinarian. In addition, his prices are fair and he and his staff are compassionate and accessible. He is the best veterinarian around and I greatly appreciate him.

NEVER, EVER WILL WE BRING A CAT TO THIS INEPT SO-CALLED VET'S OFFICE. STAY AWAY. TRUST MY REVIEW. I'VE HAD KITTENS AND CATS FOR MANY YEARS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN THROUGH TOTALLY INCAPABLE PEOPLE.

The greatest vet in the tri-state area. We love Dr Parver, Jimmy & all of the staff. Such compassion shown with fury family. Gentle care given each and every time. We live in CT and go to Dr Parver in Little Neck, an hour of travel is so worth the trust and passion. Thank you Dr Parver and staff for loving our fur babies as if they we your own, and for loving what you do.

Dr. Parver has been the only vet my pets have seen for about 25 years. I adopt special needs cats -- elderly, or with physical issues, or both -- and i've been enormously impressed with the depth of knowledge, skill set, and compassion exhibited by not just Dr. Parver, but the entire staff. Care is taken to calm not just my cats, but to keep me informed and calm as well. They have gone way above and beyond when it comes to providing veterinary care and advice. They don't view pet care as a simple customer transaction, it's obviously so much more. My gratitude to Dr. Parver and his staff is enormous.

Can’t say enough about Dr Parver! I called in and stated that my dog needed to be seen, front desk mention the Dr was leaving early And I was still at work and wouldn’t make it there on time. The Dr immediately called me back and told me he would wait for me. Long story short my dog needed surgery! Her anal glad was ruptured and infected! Dr Parver preformed the surgery that same day. The following day we were able to pick her up but there was a blizzard. One of Dr Parver staff members dropped off my dog at my home for me. I’m saying this animal hospital went above and beyond for my dog. Lola is now home safe and recovering thanks to Dr Parver and staff.

After reading many reviews on Dr. Parver and his office, and since they are open on Sunday, we decided to try this office for a simple checkup and annual shots for my dog. What a monumental mistake! Apparently Dr. Parver employs other vets to cover when he is not there. This was not disclosed when making an appointment. When we were called in, a male approached us and our small dog, and immediately started an extremely invasive physical exam. He never introduced himself and was quite rough and rude to be honest. The exam was VERY physical and he seemed to be paying too much attention to our dogs eyes and private parts. Long story short, a few days later our little baby had a VERY nasty eye infection as well as inflammation around her genital area (we have been unsuccessfully treating her eyes for a few months now with the help of another vet's office). This continues to be a harrowing experience and I still feel guilty for bringing my baby there. Although I cannot speak for Parver himself, if you decide to go to this office, DO NOT go on a day that he is not present. AND MAKE SURE YOUR VET AND THEIR STAFF WASH THEIR HANDS IN FRONT OF YOU BEFORE ALLOWING THEM TO TOUCH YOUR PET!

Dr Parver is the best. I found him by accident through my volunteer work at Alley Pond and as a wildlife rehabber. I brought my Ouchy bird, a cockatiel to him, after she fell and suffered a concussion. He said it didn't look good for her recovery, kept her a few days, ran a few tests, even gave her a blanket (she liked it) and let me take her home. For two days she was sad and lethargic. On day 3 she became herself again and today is a beautiful, vibrant and bratty little bird! Dr. Parver also saved my Hulkie, my baby cockatiel. The silly bird impacted her crop with her ravenous eating. He managed to flush out the crop, and she came home with me the same day, a little lighter but very much her feisty and zesty self! I love Dr Parver and I hope anyone who has a pet family member who cares about their health bring them to his clinic for care. He really truly loves his patients and cares about their treatment!

Small bird sustained a femur fracture and we brought her to Dr. Edward immediately thereafter. Bird was placed under monitored anesthesia care, and a splint was placed on the bird. A bill of $1000 was paid that day. Each follow up with xrays were around 400-500 dollars. Approximately 1.5 months later, everything was removed. There was significant residual shortening which led to weakness in flexion as well as reduction in dexterity...overall, bird is happy and still around. She is able to perform her regular tasks...ie flying from perch to perch, eating seeds, snooping on family members... the occasional dancing. Overall, did an average job at a highly above average price.
