ACE Veterinary Hospital Hopewell Junction, New York

I will be switching to ACE for my dog’s primary vet. They have been so accommodating with squeezing my dog in for same day emergencies. Also they allow you to come into the vet office and actually speak with the vet. With my dog’s old primary vet in dutchess, the vet did not even call me. They had a technician come out to me in the car and discuss what was done at the appointment. ACE is very personable and professional and they show you they truly care about your pet.

They make me feel that my dog is in very good hands.

I am so happy to have my dogs back in Dr. Wehrlin's care! She took amazing care of our beloved Comet years ago and she has not changed one bit. What a lovely, caring person and veterinarian. She doesn't automatically recommend costly procedures, she is thoughtful and confident in her assessments. So I can really trust her if she says my dogs need something. Highly recommend!!!

I recently left A.C.E. for many reasons. The main reason being, Dr.Wehrlin meeting my dog for the first time and saying "Ugh a German Shepherd. Not my favorite." and then requested we put a muzzle on him even though he did nothing to warrant a muzzle. We discussed that he has anxiety and can be a bit weary when meeting new people. Instead of Dr. Wehrlin trying to make him comfortable, she gave us trazodone without discussing it with us first. We gave the medication to him once and it made him sick. At our next visit in 2020, they requested we muzzle him again and they complained about how unmanageable he is. The staff let me know how annoyed they were that I did not give my dog the trazodone and almost refused to see him. At our last visit, they were annoyed once again that I did not give him the trazodone even though I explained that it makes him sick. They once again said he was so unmanageable and they couldn't do his annual. They had already cancelled my appointment multiple times so he was very overdue for his vaccinations. They agreed to do the vaccinations, but said they could not perform a proper examination or blood work. They once recommended trazodone as well as gabapentin. Dr. Wehrlin is unwilling to build relationships with the patients and instead medicates them to make them "manageable" His new vet said he is not unmanageable and does not need to be medicated. He just needs someone who is willing to go slow and work at his pace which Dr. Wehrlin is unable to do. If your dog has anxiety and has trouble trusting new people, do NOT go to A.C.E.

There is no other group of people I would trust my animals with, than the exceptional people at A.C.E. Veterinary Hospital.

Will not patronize a place that refuses care for a dog that is ill. This VET has no loyalty to its clients when in need.

Apparently my pup needs an annual exam within 2 months of the first annual exam. I was not present at the first due to covid restrictions on how they operated, only pup was allowed in building but I did see this exam, her fur was rubbed around head, felt legs and looked through her hair. Total annual exam was about 60 seconds and the rude receptionist told me the fur rub was required for my pups distemper vaccine. All in all, I was over charged 62.00 for a second ANNUAL exam. All the rude receptionist could say was that she was canceling my spay appointment when I told her I was going to leave a review. Here is the original spay estimate ????.

I just adopted a sweet girl who was very scared, all within a week her puppies were weaned off her, spayed and came to me.. the vet was so wonderful making her comfortable and the techs were so kind!

Great vet's wouldn't trust anyone else with my pets.

The staff here is amazing, both the clinical and non-clinical staff, and especially Dr. Wehrlin. When my dog had cancer the entire staff treated him like their own. I couldn't have asked for a better team of people to be taking care of my dog. I was also always treated with respect, especially when I had my own theories, the clinical staff always looked into my ideas and never brushed me off. I couldn't recommend a better veterinary group.

Called and explained my cat had symptoms of a UTI and every other place i had called had NO availability until the next week...I called, Dr. W immediately was able to get me in next morn. I showed up, called YHE number they came and got my cat they called me with results. I got his medications and food I asked for and price wasn't terrible, cheaper then other vets I been to...Other places quoted me 350-400 I paid under 200 here...will definitely recommend!! I was recommended ACE from relatives and being new in the area, it is so hard to pick a vet. I was so pleasantly surprised at how caring and upbeat everyone is here! I am a new, and very nervous first time kitten mom, and they treated my fur babies with such kindness! Got a glowing report that my little ladies purred the whole time during their wellness visit! Felt at home and my fur babies were in good hands!
