Nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone, phone just rings and rings and rings, leave multiple messages with no return calls what’s so ever. Was interested in a dog, set up a meet and greet called the day before and was told the dog was adopted out, I honestly don’t believe that’s fair at all! If you set up a meet and greet with someone than you should follow thru with it, don’t get someone’s hopes up in meeting a potential fur baby and then tell someone they’ve already been adopted. I’ve been to your shelter before and figured I’d give you guys the benefit of the doubt but reading other reviews I’ll gladly go to a rescue or the SPCA instead, horrible communication between employees and potential people who are looking to adopt your animals. Very sad experience with you guys

Staff were super friendly and helpful also very efficient, got 2 three month old kittens and they are so sweet. Adoption includes free vet waver for the first visit, 2 bags of food, microchipped, immunization record’s and they are neutered/spayed ALSO HOUSETRAINED. So many sweet cats and dogs I would definitely recommend coming here and adopting then buying them at a pet store

This place is a joke. Went in yesterday because I wanted to adopt a cat. Lady at the front desk told me to fill out the form (once that was done) she let me look at the 3 cats they had. She told me what the fee was and I asked if there was any ATM and she told me down the street. ???? Why do they only take cash and check. Lady at the front desk was very rude. She told her coworker that I was lying because I put the wrong person as my landlord. I had the landlord on the phone and she refused to talk to them and told me she was going to call them. I felt like since I made one small mistake this lady wont let me adopt a cat. Will be going in today to see if she spoke with my landlord.

Brought a friendly stray cat there to put up for adoption , man opened container left garage door open cat ran out over Thursday. Went there I road around had food had trap. Didn't see it. This is territory that it is not firmilor with. People in his neighbor hood loved him but couldn't take him in their house. Totally did not care. So sad

All the scams that everyone writes about is true; they make you "adopt" your own dog after taking him off the porch of your house (if he's not tied up or attached to it). Evil people work here; but thank God, nice people work here too. (That's why you see mixed reviews). They killed one of my dogs because they thought I was breeding her. They didn't know she had been stolen & to breed by my next-door neighbor. They assumed it was the typical greedy breeding thing people do with dogs. They are hateful & racism comes into play at times as well.

Called this place to rehome my cat the lady on the phone was giving me a hard time. They must really want me to leave the cat on the street I guess that's what I'm going to do.

If I could this place zero stars I would...we talked with our landlord an got permission to adopt a small to medium dog for our kids as they can be real great for kids with disabilities. So we were beyond excited to start looking. Instead of just getting a puppy we wanted to give a dog a loving home from a rescue. We looked on the buffalo animal shelter website an found a beagle that we fell in love with, his personality sounded like it would of been great for our family. So the next day we went to see him in person. We did take time to look at the other doggies an no one stood out like this guy!! So we asked to see him an what not. We went outside with one of the volunteers an were playing with him he was a little wild it was colder then so he must of had cabin fever lol an just excited to have some attention. We were sold my kids didn’t wanna leave him! So after talking with the volunteer, she said they would fix him an update his shot etc an we would be able to pick him up from the vet on Wednesday, pretty much said he was ours an just hard to finish the loose ends. As for the other volunteers they made it out the same way. So we were told we had to fill out an application okay no problem the women behind the counter was rude an dismissive. Not informing about the process of adoption whatsoever. So we left him there, with kids crying on the way out because they were so confused ab took us a bit to explain that he will be back soon. Well it was the next day an his ad on their website said adopted, we were confused an of course they were closed this day. So Monday morning we tried calling and calling an not one answer literally tried for an hour. Until we came to conclusion they stiffed us an broke my children’s heart. The shelter it’s self is clean an nice but the outside play/meeting area was disgusting!!! No one cleans up the dog poop!! It’s everywhere we couldn’t move with out stepping in it. No excuse for it. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, they will have you believe the animal you fall in love with is yours an then just give them to someone else without your knowledge. Very disappointed. We did read other reviews saying they pulled the same thing with other families an wanted to be hopeful. We ended up getting another beagle who is loving his new home an family. It’s a shame it happened the way it did. I personally would look into other rescues this place is a joke!

I’m looking for a dog that my ex brought in. Her name was liv. She’s a grey and white, and I’m trying to locate her, and finally bring her home. He said he took her here, I really need to bring her back into her family.

These people knowingly posted a photo of a families’ dog for adoption & have refused to let the family get their dog back ! The family has called several times regarding their dog who just got out of the house. Then they proceed to laugh at comments on the post of this said dog. Not only are they incredibly insensitive & rude they are also VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I wonder how many other families have lost their pets this way over a shelter being shady. I suggest you take your business elsewhere because you could be adopting a dog who actually has a loving home but this shelter wants to just profit and make money. Absolutely terrible.

I got a rescue doggie from the shelter. The shelter treated her so wonderfully. She was in rough shape. Now she is my forever buddy. I'll never forget the kindness and caring of the staff!

Great place to interact with the animals. Fenced in area outside or private one on one room inside. Reasonably priced and great location.

The Buffalo Animal Shelter is a good place to start looking for a dog, puppy, cat or kitten. I recently for the first time ever as a dog owner, adopted my 1st. puppy. Some volunteers are nicer than others when dealing with the public. So keep that in mind. Kelly the top DOG (LOL) really made my adoption special. She is very approachable as is most of her staff. If they DON'T tell you much about the dog you want to know about, it's because the safety of ALL of the dogs is their PRIORITY. The same with the felines. Before they let any dog go they want to make sure that the dogs ESPECIALLY are going to a much better situation than where they came from. So if one volunteer isn't as helpful find another one. That's of course if you really want the dog that you claim an interest in. There are some very needy but sweet animals that need a real good furever home. Yes the dogs have issues but so do people. Patience, compassion & understanding is very important when adopting from ANY animal shelter.
