I cannot find the proper words to express how impressed I am with Loving Paws. Despite being super booked, they always go above and beyond to make sure everyone gets care. They are caring, thoughtful and professional yet somehow they make you feel at home instantly ❤

After moving to Bay Ridge almost 4 years ago, I decided to take my Kenzi to this office, as she needed a new Vet. All of the visits were awesome and I liked the treatment of my fur baby received over the years, until a little over two months ago. I had called the office because one of kenzi's paw was red and irritated and she kept chewing on it. While explaining what was wrong, I mentioned to the receptionist that I would like to get Kenzi’s rabies vaccine while I'm there and that any other shots would be scheduled at a later date. The receptionist placed me on hold and when she came back to the phone, she told me they wouldn't just administer the rabies vaccine, because she needed more than just the one vaccine. I then reiterated that I was only interested in the Rabies vaccine at this time and getting her paw taken care of. After another brief hold, The receptionist came back to the phone with the number to a low cost vet and said they wouldn't see me. This upset me a lot, as it was assumed that i couldn't afford the other vaccinations. I got more upset and told the receptionist that i didn't like how I was being treated and that I wanted her records sent to me ASAP, as I wouldn't be returning. I ended up calling another place which informed me that what they should have said was 'let's take care of her paw and ensure her health and we can discuss the vaccines later" I agreed with that statement. Making a customer feel low is not the way to go in this business. I really liked this Vet, up until this incident, as her receptionist was acting on her behalf.

Dr Loretta is the best vet ever. She takes her time to make sure you understand everything that’s going on with your pet and give you amazing treatment plan. My cat had an emergency appointment two weeks ago because he had upset stomach, turned out it was because there was a leftover toy in his stomach (he was in emergency room a week before that due to eating his toy ball. The vet there made mistakes and told me he has already threw up everything but that was not the case, my cat was acting weird a week later after the emergency appointment, felt sick and nauseas and had severe diarrhea) After seeing Dr Loretta and waiting for 2 hours at loving paws, he was able to throw up the last piece of that toy. My cat is also overweight, all the vet I’ve been to before always just told me to give him less food. Dr Loretta came up with a useful diet plan that allows him to eat two full good meals a day, with both wetfood and dryfood, and she also gave my cat probiotic. With the help of new diet plan and probiotic, my cat recovered from upset stomach after a couple days, now he is looking more healthy and happy! She made sure to call and check up and she answered all my questions! AMAZING VET! I’m so glad I found loving paws, it is definitely a great start for my kitty to get back in shape, have healthy skin and have a vet that knows exactly what’s going on!!

Quick and easy service for your pet. By appointment only. I take my neighbors pet here when needed and they are very easy to work with and very nice.

Best vet I’ve ever had in Bay Ridge. Hands down. Lovely Paws was able to get my dog in for an appointment within 20 minutes of calling them. I was afraid I would have to go to the emergency vet (we all know those prices are astronomical) for my dog’s coughing/gagging problem. Dr. Pesteanu gave me every single detail about which tests they would run, what those tests mean, how much they cost, and what to expect for the future. My pup Nico also has severe separation anxiety and she sat down with me for a good chunk of time to discuss options for behavioral rehabilitation tactics to use when we got home (she did not have to do that and it was free of charge). She and the vet techs were very friendly to Nico which was a breath of fresh air coming from his old vet who would act like he was annoying and/or give me dirty looks. Thank god for this clinic and Dr.Loretta. I changed clinics a couple of years ago feeling the place I was going was bouncing me from Dr. To Dr. She gives every pet the attention and quality care every furry buddy needs. My senior pup is doing so much better these past couple of years. I'm sure her care is extending his life. If not for her I'm sure my little guy would have fell victim to his conditions. Thank you!

We have been coming to Loving Paws since it opened and cannot recommend it highly enough - Dr. Loretta is incredibly passionate about animal care and is dedicated beyond any vet care I’ve ever experienced. We also really love Amanda - she is so sweet and is great with our fur babies - they are an absolute dream team!

The best care you can get for your pet children. While the Doctor is truly the best I've had for my fur babies, I seriously can't afford the prices anymore. They are way too expensive. I have three little ones and they are getting old. Without exaggeration I was spending between 2 to 3 thousand a year for all three. Way too much. So, if you have a lot of money and can afford it, this doctor is excellent.

They always treat my princess the right way, with love and the utmost care. The vet is here for your pets, and is genuinely interested in your pet's well-being. The vet also has a great character and a special love for animals. I love bringing my doggy here, she always leaves a happy girl, with the best care I could ask for. Thank You Dr. Loretta!!

My dog almost lost his eye because Dr Loretta couldn’t admit that she couldn’t take care of the problem and recommend me to an eye specialist. After 3 weeks of her torturing my dog and a bill of $900 the eye was so bad One morning that I decided to take him to the Animal hospital. Dr. Loretta failed to see and remove the grass seed that he still had in his eye

Excellent place for veterinarian care. Dr. Pesteanu is extremely knowledgeable and totally dedicated to the care and well being of the animals she takes care of. Her staff is very courteous and dedicated to doing their best. Highly recommend.

This place has priorities and profit is first. It's a great location for a compassionate loving vet but these people make sure to cash in on the exam fee for ANYTHING. They will refuse to help you until you bring your pet in no matter what paperwork you have. Can't wait for the practice to crash and see what opens next. TO YOUR RESPONSE: My dog was diagnosed less than 4 weeks ago, I contacted them in the event of an emergency because I could not get her full prescription in time. There would be no problem reviewing her records and getting confirmation from her regular vet that she does in fact need this prescription (like all the other vets advised) so please "LOVING" Paws, continue to save face by twisting the situation to make it seem like I was just wandering in expecting you to give me a medication without documented proof. All the other vets in bayridge had no problem helping. Thankfully I found a vet I could make it to on my lunch break who had the script in stock!

Dr. Loretta is a knowledgeable and kind hearted vet. I'm a very nervous first time dog parent so I'm constantly looking for ways to keep my puppy healthy. Dr. Loretta always explained things thoroughly and reassures me.

I took my dog to the vet for excessive scratching & nibbling on herself. When I got there the Vet wasn't able to figure out the reasoning behind it. She thought it could be fleas but because she was nibbling on her paws that it probably wasn't. So 20 minutes later I was hit with a bill for $600 with every possible charge you can think of that I never requested or gave permission for. After being handed a ridiculous amount of charges and getting nothing out of my visit, I was told my puppy had giardia and I would need medication for her. I called multiple times to get the names of medications and the prices for them and I was told numerous times that it would be emailed. The communication with the staff is extremely poor and the letter the Vet wrote telling me , my puppy had giardia was extreme. After looking at medication costs on third party websites like chewy, I was able to notice that the Vet was charging me 5x the amount of the same dosage on a different website.

Dr. Loretta is a wonderful vet and she takes excellent care of my aging cat. The office is always clean and the staff courteous.

I can’t rave enough about Dr. Loretta and Loving Paws Animal Hospital. It’s the best place to take your animal for quality care. Dr. Loretta’s compassion for animals knows no bounds. She’s an expert diagnostician, skillful surgeon and conveyor of knowledge. I’ve been a client of hers for many years, and I’m so thrilled that she opened her own practice. Over the years I’ve adopted several older cats with medical issues. She always takes the time to explain what the issues are and how best to deal with them. Anyone who knows Dr. Loretta knows that they and especially their pets will be treated with the upmost care. Her staff bring their own expertise to the practice and are a vital asset to the hospital, especially Amanda who has lots of experience as a tech. Together they make a great team!

I have 2 dogs and have been going to Dr. Loretta since they were pups. I was absolutely thrilled when she opened Loving Paws. Dr. Loretta spends significant time with each of my dogs and explains everything to my understanding. She genuinely loves what she does and let's my dogs kiss her to death. My dogs get excited when they see her, what animal is excited to go to the vet?! we are so excited to be reconnected with Dr. Loretta and her wonderful staff!

Dr. Loretta at loving paws is the best vet around. The office is modern, clean and has the best technology to care for your pets. She's extremely compassionate, caring and understanding. She's a wonderful diagnostician and an extremely intelligent vet taking the time to explain possible illnesses and all aspects of care plans.

Dr. Loretta has been my vet for years. She is always available either by phone or email to answer all questions. She explains what's going on and what the underlying causes are and my options for treatment. She is very compassionate about her patients and animal welfare. I would not trust anyone but Dr. Loretta to care for my pets.

Our cats -- and we've had many over thirty years -- have been patients of Dr. Loretta Pesteanu for well over a decade, and she's treated every one of them as though it were her own pet. When I learned that she left the animal hospital at which she'd worked for so long, I immediately Googled her name and was relieved and thrilled to learn she'd opened her own practice and remained in Bay Ridge. She's now treating our two cats, one of whom is healthy and one of whom is not. She never rushes through an exam, and she gives you all the time you need to understand your pet's health issues and what you need to do. The two other staff members I've met, Amanda and Michelle, are, like Loretta, caring and kind people. I would not take my animals anywhere else.
