Would not give any information, so I could make a decision about my 5 year old golden retriever. I would not recommend Dr Merrick.

I took my 1 year old cat, Pepper, last night with a intestinal obstruction, she received such a good care, all my questions have been answered and everything has been explained to me in detail. She is still under their care, I am really grateful for everything they have been done so far. I totally recommend

I just returned home from bringing my puppy here and I am not happy with our experience. We saw Dr. Helmbold and she was rude and dismissive. To help find what was wrong with our pup she suggested ruling out anything urgent with an X-ray. I asked what that entailed for the dog and she said they would try to get him to cooperate and if not, some light sedation would be necessary to calm him down (her words exactly). She talks in circles which gets confusing and is unhelpful. After a few minutes to discuss with my husband, another tec came out and when I asked again about the process she said he would be completely knocked out for the X-ray and that he would need some time after to wake back up. That was a completely different answer to my question then what Dr. Helmbold said. I am disgusted that she would have taken my dog and not told me that he would have been completely knocked out. I of course opted out of X-rays simply because I do not trust this place or their doctors. They also kept my dog in the back for an unnecessarily long time while they were clearly chatting well after they were alerted that payment was received and our dog could be discharged. We could hear him cry from the waiting room. I will say that Jade, the receptionist, was a pleasure - only good thing about that place.

Absolutely wonderful. Kind, caring, and supportive of pets and owners. I brought my little lady of a cat Rosenthing in for lymphoma treatments, Dr. Merrick and everyone else were wonderful throughout the whole process. Sadly my baby didn't make it but I know everything that could be done for her was done for her. I hope I never need a feline oncologist again, but if I do I'll never consider anywhere but here for treatments.

Took my dog in on a rainy Saturday night and I was very pleased with the whole experience. I live in Connecticut and first went to Newtown Vet Hospital. Received no assistance, couldn’t even get through on the phone. Went right over to Katonah which I had used in the past with another pet years ago. They were terrific. I was assisted right away and everyone was professional and helpful. My dog was seen by Dr. Helmbold who went into great detail about the exam and her prognosis. Also made us aware of the hospital’s 24 hour follow up procedure which I appreciated. Everything was done in a timely manner and I left with complete confidence that my dog was not in any immediate danger. Thank you all and special thanks to Dr Helmbold.

Super professional staff that quickly treated my cats life threatening condition. They stepped up to the plate and did what another emergency vet clinic failed to do which was diagnose and quickly treat my cats issue. I recommend to anyone in need for their pets.

I can't express enough the professionalism and care that the staff here put in. My cat, OOb, was blocked. He needed emergency surgery. We're not rich and didn't have $5,000 for the recommended surgery. The doctor gave us other options and worked with us. It was a very emotional experience. I never realized just how much Oob meant to us until we heard euthanized as an option. We were openly crying. In the end, Oob is much better now and is now back to begging for treats and is his playful self. Thank you to all the staff who gave Oob the best care. You can tell they were taken with him and were rooting for him to make it.

I took my kitten of 15 weeks to this Vet today and I absolutely fell in love with the staff and service as soon as I walked in! They were quick and super nice about the questions I asked. I was nervous because I am a new animal mother and the staff made sure to comfort me with any concerns I had. They even gave me a welcome bag for my kitten! Super sweet professionals and Veterinarians! I recommend this place 100%. Thank you Katonah Veterinary!

I really hope everyone who has never been here and needs medical care for their pet reads this. What an amazing place. I have never met such a group of medical professionals that were so caring, efficient, and knowledgeable. I have such a wonderful cat that sadly has a tumor growing inside her mouth. I took her to Bedford Katonah Vet for their opinion. I was told that they are the specialists to see. I brought cat in for a visit before I had to go to work. They did see what my local vet saw, but they also were smart enough to know the pain from the tumor was what was stopping her from eating. The gave her medicine that would help her eat. They even sent me home with food to mix the medicine in with. On top of that- they kept my pet while I went to work, fed her, cleaned her up and gave her a place to sleep. I live well over an hour away and it was the best decision for my cat I had ever made. In my heart I knew my cat was sick. I still pray for a miracle for her, and I also prayed the God would connect me with people to help. He did. My cat’s quality of life went from zero to one hundred percent.

I don't know what to say. Five stars are deserved! I've needed to bring our 2 beagles in here for 2 different reasons in the past 2 1/2 months and each time they've been helpful, comforting, and understanding. Nobody has been rude even at the odd hours of the day or night we've been there. I will continue to go here if needed. Hopefully I don't need to though. This Hospital is clean and staff is friendly & knowledgeable. Thank you!!

The front desk staff, vet technician's and Doctor Merrick at your Veterinary Center are the best I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. From the moment I walked in the door I was helped and greeted with kindness. I was a very concerned dog owner who's dog was just diagnosed with cancer. The technician's and Dr. Merrick made me feel at ease and made me feel like there is still hope for my senior pup. I appreciate the great care and compassion that is continually taken with my senior pup. What a relief to have found you.

My 7 yr. Old pup was given 9 days to live with a very rare leukemia and Dr. Christine Merrick and her staff were exceptional with our boy. With such a devastating prognosis we didn't have much hope of him living any longer than that but Dr. Merrick never gave up on him. With each visit our boy did live a comfortable life and lived an extra 4 MONTHS Every day was comfortable, and he was able to play, go for walks at the beach and be part of our family. AND HE GAINED AT LEAST 12 LBS! Dr. Merricks treatment gave us the time to say goodbye to "Ni-Guy" and it gave my daughter the much needed time to accept the diagnosis. This pup was her therapy dog and was much more then just a pet to us. He was a big presence in our family and he will live forever in our hearts. Dr. Merrick and her staff allowed "Ni-Guy" to live without pain for much longer than we could ever have imagined. We would never trust our furry babies with anyone else. She is direct, honest, and truly loves each and every animal that crosses her. She became part of our family. Thank you Dr. Merrick for your unconditional love for "Ni-Guy".. you truly understood him and his needs. XO, Linda and family.

I went into the “emergency” clinic yesterday (Sunday) and wait 7 hours for blood test results that only confirmed that my cat’s liver isn’t functioning properly (which I already told them coming in and they knew based on my cats previous records). My cat had no food or water or access to a litter box. She peed in her cage and vomited twice and they did nothing about it. They tried charging me $2,982 for this. Unbelievable. So I had to take today (Monday) off from work for her to get an ultrasound. I called them at 9:00am and told them I’m on my way and will be there in an hour. I arrived and waited a couple more hours before they told me that all of the scheduled appointments would have to be taken care of before they started her ultrasound, even though I was there for an “emergency” visit. It’s been four and a half hours and they’re telling me it’ll still be an hour and a half before they even take care of her.. Based on the time estimates they’ve given me before, 1 hour really means 7 hours. Again, she has no food or water or access to a litter box, plus I wasn’t allowed to feed her yesterday since she was supposed to be getting an ultrasound today. They really call this an emergency clinic..

Due to my PCP being very busy and not available for another month to see a Orthopedist. I decided to come here for possible surgery consultation and drove about and hour. Waited about 30 mins including speaking with the doctor after reviewing my dog and basically just verbal consulting and as a result charged me $250 absolutely no outcome. Invoice just stated Surgery Consultation and no details to what they diagnosed. I basically wasted my time and money.

This vet came highly recommended by my local hometown vet because we found a lump on my dog Chunkys lung so my vet suggested a CT scan to find out exactly what it is and where. I am so happy i listened and came here! The Staff and the doctor were super friendly, and knowledgeable they treated my dog like their own and made him feel comfortable. I'm very happy I made the choice to have my dog treated here. Thank you for all you do ????❤

I was here last week for a dermatology appointment with Dr. Nina Shoulberg. Dr. Shoulberg, Klem, and Hayley were all very professional and helpful. The facility was clean and operated very smoothly despite being a seemingly busy day. I live quite far away but the service I was provided made it worth the travel and I would be more than happy for them to be my primary vet if I lived locally.

I am extremely upset by the way that I was just treated by the very rude receptionist at this vet. We've been patients for a while now and have really great experiences in the past, but I was literally in tears after our most recent experience. This morning, my dog (who has been having allergies recently) scratched a big gash over her eye. We called the vet to ask what to do and were given an appointment for Thursday. We asked if we could give her Benadryl to keep our dog from injuring herself further and were told they would leave a message for the vet. 5 hours and two more gashes on her shoulders from scratching later, I called back to see when we could expect to hear from the vet, and was told in a really condescending tone of voice that the vet was with patients all day until 4 o'clock and that if I wanted to leave another message I could, but not to expect to hear back any time soon. I was told to bring my dog into the ER if I was concerned about her. Luckily, I called the Mount Kisco VCA Vet immediately after getting off the phone and the receptionist there told me to bring my dog in right away to be seen immediately, that they were booked today but would squeeze my dog in between patients. We will be switching vets to this much more caring and friendly practice!

Terribly disappointed with my visit to the ER this past weekend. My dog was running a low fever and had an infection. I was told the wait was a long one (~3 hrs) and I spent over 4.5hours there. My dog saw a technician first (after an hour and a half wait) then saw the vet shortly after. I then waited over an hour to speak to the vet who prescribed an antibiotic. I waited another 30 minutes to pay and then after paying over 45 minutes for the prescription! I understand they were busy but they were completely unorganized. My poor dog felt terrible and I had to wait around over an hour after seeing the vet to get a very common prescription. The time that my dog and I spent with the vet was less than 5 minutes. I do not recommend this animal hospital.

I was recommended to this specialist for one of our rescue dogs. I didn't even get to the part of making an appointment because the two receptionists I spoke with were extremely rude, unprofessional and condescending. I am shocked that they keep their jobs with the way the speak to and treat people. The first one did not listen to anything I said and just responds in a voice as if my call is bothering her with "Have you been here before?" which she would have been able to answer if she listened. The second one is one of the most unprofessional women I have ever dealt with and had the audacity to mimic me on the phone call. I am not sure who runs this place but the doctors there should be embarrassed to have these woman as the face of this veterinary center. Needless to say, we will be using another oncologist who offers support, knowledge and professionalism.

Our cat had terminal cancer this year, so this review is largely specifically for the Oncology Unit along with the front desk staff. I've been seeing Dr. Merrick and her staff there for the past 6 months. Here are a few things I like about them. I also saw 3 different oncology centers over the past year, and Katonah was a pleasant contrast to the others. + Their front desk staff is friendly and they've never made me wait more than a few minutes to get connected to who I need, or check in my pet. (In contrast, one of the other centers regularly had us on hold for 30 minutes to an hour, even when checking in our pet for an appointment) + The oncology staff is friendly and knowledgeable. When Dr. Merrick was out one day her tech was able to help me even though I had a lot of complex questions. Her administrative personnel is always friendly as well and is clear with instructions, cost and payments. + Dr. Merrick is absolutely wonderful. She treats our cat as if he's her own pet. She's empathetic, but is also data-driven. She welcomes questions and always tries to be available or call back as soon as she can. We've had cats for years and we have rarely worked with a vet as good as Dr. Merrick. + COST!!! This is a big one. We took our cat to a center in Albany, as well as Guardian, a few towns over. Everything is cheaper at Katonah. For example, one electrochemotherapy treatment at Guardian cost us $2500. One treatment at Katonah was $1800. Same cat, same treatment, same dose, same time. This happened over and over with other tests and treatments. Out of the three places we went I'd rate the other two a 1 or 2 out of 5 but this has been a 5/5 experience, with both the way they treat us and the cost. Oncology is always a heartbreaking and costly experience but they made it as good as possible.

My cat Luna was injured from a fight with a stray. Katonah Bedford VCA were super attentive, sensitive, and responsive. I waited around 5–6 hours while my cat was having her procedure but I was very thankful that she was in good hands. I received an update every hour from the Vet, Dr. Choquette and other staff members. They were very thorough when explaining my cat’s procedure - along with answering questions regarding the bill and finances. They provided instructions for recovery and checked in every couple of days post-op. Overall, I’m extremely grateful to have brought my cat there. They saved her life. ❤️ :)

Well, they didn't make our dogs *worse*, so 1 star. Otherwise, just expensive chaos. No one ever seemed to actually check either dog's records to see their medical history and what treatments are needed. Repeatedly was told we needed treatments the dogs already had or to restart vaccines that they were already current on. They couldn't keep straight who their actual doctor was. One of our dogs had lyme disease years ago and it was in their records, but they called to follow up stating that lyme disease had been detected and they'd like to discuss treatments. Then when we show up one month later for a follow-up: no mention. One visit, we're told a vaccine is optional, the next time we're told that it's overdue and would have to start over. You aren't given any record of treatments so it's up to you to remember (because they won't either). On top of that, it's expensive and slow. Not recommended.

I just wanted to say thank you to the amazing staff and the veterinarians there that helped my cat, Moe, with his surgical removal of his benign tumor. He is doing so much better and I have this amazing staff to thank for his speedy recovery!

We had a terrific experience at this hospital this week when my dog was sick. The staff and doctors were pleasant, professional and thorough. It exceeded my expectations based on previous experiences elsewhere.

I can't say enough about how amazing our experience with KBVC was. Our 17 week old Vizsla was suddenly a VERY sick puppy. We brought Sage in at 5am barely breathing and in (what we later learned) heart failure. The doctors worked on her aggressively and kept us updated, though not always with the best news. She ultimately needed to see a cardiologist but there was not one available at KBVC. The critical care specialist worked seamlessly with another ER vet to arrange for her to transfer safely. Sage was quickly treated by the cardiologist and by some miracle was released the next day. The cardiologist believes that the aggressive treatment at KBVC likely saved her life. All doctors involved called me personally with regular updates. They were kind, compassionate and very patient. They explained her condition along the way and stayed on the phone with me as long as i needed to answer my questions. Our family is truly grateful.

I brought my 14 year old lab on sunday at 730am to unfortunately be put down. The staff was compassionate and attentive from the phone calls that lead up to the visit to me leaving. They even gave me a pin and my girls paw print in memory. I highly recommend them! Thank you for making such a tough time a little easier.

Appreciate this place so very much! They always make sure my boy Parmesan is calm & happy. They were there during scary times when he was having lots of stomach problems and got to the root of it, whilst giving me peace at mind. Thankful to have a trustworthy vet! I travel nearly a half-hour to get there just so I know i’m getting the best care possible!

Horrific emergency veterinary hospital. Completely unprofessional, disorganized and not to mention overpriced. Vets do not call you back (Dr Nowowiejski), misplace your beloved pet's paw prints ( Dr. Grime) and the hospital staff/manager is unresponsive (Melanie Parker). It is a mortuary not a hospital.

My dog Betsy just had TPLO surgery after tearing her ACL. The day after we took her home (two days after surgery) they called us to check up on her. Then there was an accident where she took a hard fall and her bruising at her incision site started to spread. I called and they said that she should come in to make sure she didn't damage her hardware. When we got there, Dr. Andrews came right into the lobby to check on her. He manipulated her leg and told us we could do xrays but he didn't think they were needed. We decided to just keep a close eye on her and skip the xrays and apologized for panicking. He completely understood and said there was no charge for her check up. Between him, dr. Manaco who did the surgery and Liz Weltzien the team have been phenomenal with helping to ease my worries about the surgery and her recovery. Betsy also loves it there! Tail started wagging like crazy as soon as we walked through the door.

This review is for Dr. Monaco, who performed an amputation on my lab in July 2020 Dr. Monaco operated on my beloved lab after he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Prior to the operation, my previously lively boy could barely walk and was in excruciating pain. Dr. Monaco was extremely thoughtful in telling us our options for him, including an amputation, and was honest about the prognosis for a dog with amputation but no chemo. After doing extensive research and upon Dr. Monaco's recommendation, we chose to move forward with the amputation of our lab's front leg. He was able to return home to us the next day, and he was able to move around right away. It has now been almost 2 months since his operations, and our lab is 90% back to his normal self -- he's able to do all of his favorite activities, including playing with his best friend, our husky. We not only emphatically recommend Dr. Monaco as a surgeon, we also highly recommend amputation as a way to extend your dog's life with osteosarcoma. While it may sound scary to humans, after doing research and seeing the results firsthand, dogs do very well with three legs. Thank you Dr. Monaco!
