Dr. J and his team is beyond amazing he went above and beyond for my little 2lb chihuahua Pebbles. He did an emergency C-section and was able to save her little pup. He kept in close contact with me through this whole experience when I was a complete mess, He made me feel confident that it was the best decision. Im thankful I was recommended to Bayshore animal hospital. Thank you Dr. J and your staff for everything you did for me.

Best animal hospital we live in Islip and have been going to Bayshore for over 20 years, staff is amazing and I am very picky. Lol love the doctors and staff they understand my pets needs and LISTEN to me when I have a concern even if it’s minor to them. I recommend them highly

Wow. I couldn't get in to see my dog's regular vet, and got an appointment right away. Not only did they take amazing care of my dog, they called every day this week to check up on him. They now have a new client for life.

DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE. Many bad reviews of people's dogs dying. I brought my healthy almost 2 year old dog to be inseminated and she came home 25 lb lighter with aspiration pneumonia(both lungs), infection, labored breathing, cough, nasal discharge, depression, weakness, loss of appetite. Not to mention scrapes on legs from laying in a kennel with no bedding. They do not walk the dogs there despite telling you they do in their "yard". A simple view of the property on Google maps will tell you there is no grass there. It is small, dirty, the staff is negligent and neglectful. They had the nerve to tell me my dog coming in at 115 lb and leaving at 89 was normal. Please enjoy these pictures of my emaciated dog that the vet there thinks is healthy. She was there for 18 days and every day I called was told she was doing great. 1/4 of her weight was been lost. She was clearly neglected and was defeated and depressed when I picked her up. After all of this I had to leave her at another vet in an oxygen box to save her, this after I promised her I would never leave her again after the traumatization she just endured. Every single vet and vet tech that saw her was absolutely disgusted with her condition and that it transpired at an "animal hospital". Bayshore animal hospital has not apologized, offered me a refund, or offered to pay for my vet bills that I incurred due to their negligence. They're absolute trash, have zero ethics, and should have their licenses revoked. Oh and by the way they asked for x-rays because they didn't even believe I was out of that and my dog was sick. Please look at these photos carefully and it will tell you everything you need to know about this absolute toilet of a hospital.Joshua Dratch should not be allowed around animals.

While on our long vacation [ San Diego > Long Island] our dog chewed his paw raw. Bay Shore knowledgeable & compassionate staff were able to squeeze us in & properly treat his symptoms.

The best vets around hands down. They actually care about you and your pet. They don't hit you over the head with unnecessary charges. I couldn't be happier with them.

When my mother bought our dog in due to the way she was breathing, we had no idea the condition she was in as she did not appear to be this ill. The information given to us from the vet when my mother was called to come pick up our dog was NOT accurate and in no way made to be an urgent situation. At first in the car ride home, our dog seemed okay. Once almost home, my mother noticed our dog panting and tongue turning blue. When she got home and called and spoke to the owner (first phone call when she was told to pick up our dog was with the owners son who is also a vet there) the owner then let my mother know our dog was in heart failure and very sick and needed oxygen. At this point, our dog was almost dead and it was too late. Why was our dog sent home if this was the situation? Why was the wrong information given to our mother? They didn’t forget to send her home with a $400+ bill though over $100 of which is for medication that is not needed as our dog passed away a half hour after being released from their “care”. Money of which was not refunded. Please do not take your animals to this place. The owner is only concerned with lining his pockets and does not care for animals the way a veterinarian should. Our dog is no longer with us and maybe if she actually was treated properly while she was in their care, she might still be here.

My dog had a heart murmur and we noticed that she was more labored in her breathing so we bought her in. Dr J Dratch examined her and did an X-ray and said she did not have any fluid around her heart which was good but had some on her chest. He recommended an echo sonogram. We asked if we were able to treat her and see how she does he said yes. He gave us some meds and said to wait a couple of days to see if she improved (she had an echo sonogram a year ago). On the way home in the car the dog was panting very badly and we noticed her tongue was turning blue. When we got home we called them and told them the dogs current status. Dr. Steven Dratch then informed us that the dog is very sick and she’s in heart failure and claimed they gave her something for the fluid which Dr J Dratch NEVER MENTIONED TO US. Within 15 minutes of arriving home the dog died. When we brought her into the vet she was nowhere near death. Their COVID policy is that nobody is allowed in the building. They come out to your car, take the animal and bring them inside as you wait in the car. There is no way to know what they are actually doing to your pet while your not with them. The next day I tried to return the medicine they sold us because my dog did not even survive long enough after her visit to take any of it. I called to tell them I had arrived. After waiting a while with nobody coming out to see me I called back and expressed my unhappiness with them. Dr. Steven Dratch then got on the phone, was extremely rude, refused to refund me for the medicine (which was $140), and very COWARDLY refused to come outside and speak with me face to face. The level of incompetence, dishonestly, and greed of this place is astounding. Not only did they put us through the trauma of watching our beloved pet die helplessly at home after just visiting the vet, they didn’t even have the decency to refund us for the no longer needed medicine they sold us. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET DO NOT BRING THEM HERE.

Absolutely awful hospital and veternarians. My boyfriend’s dog died right after leaving and when he attempted to follow up with the vet, he was spoken to extremely direspectfully (especially considering the truamatic experience his family just went through). They offered no explanation as to what happened and what they gave the dog that caused this to happen. DO NOT COME HERE.

If you need a sonogram for a pregnant cat, come here!! It was the most inexpensive (approx $125) by far! Most places wanted $300-600!! Dr Bill is the sweetest and followed up with me on my cat numerous times. The office fee isn't bad either. Due to covid, they get the animal from the car and call you to communicate and then bring the animal to you. I would recommend this office!

Over the years I've had couple of pets that I have entrusted to the doctors at Bayshore Animal Hospital. I have noticed over the last year or so that despite the doctors Care and aptitude, ( as with many other vets I've read reviews about), the front office personnel leave much to be desired as well as the extreme cost of services provided. As much as I like the doctors, their front office people are quite abrupt, bordering on rude and they clearly don't care

Such a nice place. They love the animals. They took such great care of my doggy. I will always return to this location. Doctors fully explained everything I needed to know plus all and any questions I had. Will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Bay Shore Animal Hospital cares more about lining their pockets than caring for pets. My dog suffers with allergies, rather than recommending a Dermatologist he was kept on a steroid on and off for over a year. There was no mention of taking him off the steroid gradually. Dr. Dratch was only interested in putting my dog under the knife. Be very careful with this animal hospital they do more harm than good. After months of suffering with weight gain, test and swelling of my dogs paws I decided to leave Bay Shore animal hospital never to return. Criminals
