Cottonwood Animal Clinic Rio Rancho, New Mexico

My visit was for a sad reason. They showed me so much compassion around having to put my puppy to rest. I will be coming here for all my future pet needs!

Took my daughter's new rabbit in for a checkup and Dr Cimbal was great. Everyone was very sweet and excited to see a different furry friend than usual. Would recommend.

Cottonwood Animal Clinic has always been kind, respectful, and responsive to our needs. They've helped guide us through some tough medical situations with our cats, and we can't thank them enough!

This place seems to be the most reliable every time I need to schedule vaccines, microchip and a stay or neuter for my cats. They are very friendly over the phone and in person. They conduct follow calls and appointment reminders. If you miss their call, they will attempt to call you back to make sure to remind you about upcoming appointments or if they have any questions about your upcoming appointments. I can rely on this place to get scheduled sooner rather than later when all other local vet clinics don't even answer their phones much less have availability months out. It's a bit pricey but it's worth it for the overall quality and value.

We took our 14 year old chihuahua there. I called and they got her an appointment in 2 days. The lady on the phone was so nice. The vet was very professional. The only thing that was expensive was the medicine. We left with paying only $170.00 which is much better than the last place we took her. It cost us $700.00 at another place to have her misdiagnosed. I will be taking her to Cottonwood Animal Clinic from now on. They were awesome. .

Only downside is waiting area is tiny and can be challenging to keep dogs separated from other waiting dogs.

We had just brought our new puppy home we needed a Vet to get her checked out and give her her next series of shots. We found Cottonwood Animal Clinic and were very happy with the service we received. They are very professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend them.

Provider and staff were professional and responsive. They provided excellent care to my dog and I appreciated them getting him seen in such a timely manner. The provider did a thorough exam and did not add any additional tests or scans, which I appreciated. Would highly recommend this clinic!

I am so happy we switched vets! My dog, Ghost, was limping on her back left leg, and when I had taken her to our previous vet was told three times that she just pulled a muscle, despite it lasting for two months. During this time we ended up moving to Rio Rancho and took her to Jolene Sun at Cottonwood, and I am so happy we did. Our concerns were actually listened to, and after x-rays we discovered Ghost tore the tendon in her leg and needed surgery. She recommended the type of surgery and sent us onto the surgery center. Recovery is going to take some time, but it makes such a difference to have a vet who actually listens to our concerns. While I am disappointed to say the least that our previous vet failed to catch this, I am relieved to have found a vet I can trust.

I moved from CA and needed to establish a vet for my dog. Found Cottonwood on internet and glad I did ! Have NEVER met a more friendly facility nor a better vet than Dr Forsythe???? he is fantastic! Thank you so much

First time visit.. appt was on time, friendly staff, excellent doc.

Dr Cimbal was able to get great treatment to our Yorkie who was suffering from an eye problem. She examined him even though he is sensitive when spmeone works around his face. Cottonwood is a friendly, professional vet clinic.

I took fluffy husky wolf over there get her shots and the doctor was awesome my dog when under the chair and the doctor went under the chair with her that was so cool thank you doctor Sun

I’ve been coming to cottonwood clinic for almost 30 years. Dr. Mike was always great! I took my puppy to get his shots 3 weeks ago, and saw Dr. Sun since Dr. Mike wasn’t available. I walked in clinic and nobody even acknowledged me when I came in. After sitting there for a while I finally told them I had an appointment. I made another appointment for my puppy’s next shot series for 3 weeks later. I show up and they tell me I don’t have an appointment. I have the written card the office girl gave me 3 weeks earlier. Luckily, this visit on the 17th of Sept a different office girl was working and she gave me tech appointment so my puppy could get his shots at least. Not really sure what’s going on with this clinic but it seems to be going downhill. It’s very frustrating!

Love this place and their sister clinic, Taylor Ranch Veterinary Hospital. Completely trust my dogs' lives with their staff. Wouldn't want to go anywhere other than Taylor Ranch Veterinary Hospital or Cottonwood Animal Hospital.

They gave my dog so much love before euthanizing him, I appreciate the kindness and caring for my fur baby Max

Such an excellent experience here, even during these more restricted times (due to COVID-19). My older dog was at ease immediately and the vet and techs were so thoughtful and responsive. Highly recommend. September 2021- I think it is important to update this review. I wish I didn’t need to, but it is easy to love a vet when we take our fur babies in and see that our pets will recover. When our girl, an Aussie with the biggest heart and sweetest disposition, started getting worse and worse with cancer, Dr Sun showed her the ultimate compassion. She helped our dog die with grace and dignity with her family around her. She let us take the time to grieve and explained the process to our kids who hadn’t experienced the death of a pet in this way. I will always grateful to Dr Sun for those last minutes with our girl and for giving her (and us) the gift of a gentle death. If you’re looking for a vet that’s right from birth to death, Cottonwood Vet is the right choice.

Dr. Mike and his staff are absolutely wonderful. They are so knowledgeable and show so much compassion both to the pets and to their owners. I recommend them to every person who has pets. You wont regret it.

It ended well the one Tech was gonna take my cat Gemini and do his nails by himself without me my cat and my dog's never went without me at cottonwood and I said that I eventually was able to go into a room where a very nice Tech who I've worked with before I was very appreciative of her

The clinic is clean, the staff friendly and very helpful, but they sent my cat home covered in pee and that just seems something a small thing they could have attempted to do something about.
