This is the only vet clinic anyone should go to. Every single vet here is amazing. They have Dr Smith… She’s awesome, she’s probably the best veterinarian I’ve ever seen. I cant in good conscience recommend going to ANY other clinic. Carly... one person has helped more than any other in the entire time I’ve been coming here. She’s usually the one who answers the phone, she knows your pet, and she’s going to work tirelessly to help you track down that impossible to find medication, and will help you in any way she can, she genuinely cares. The Drs here are all awesome, a caring environment with a late night sister clinic if you need emergency care. Gina, another amazing addition to this all-star team, she also will work hard to help your pet with whatever you need. Her scheduling magic has saved me more than once!

My 26 (now 8) adopted senior, chronically ill, and disabled rescue cats have been their clients since Coronado opened on Rt. 528. They are my go-to veterinary practice except for emergencies after hours and the need for specialists. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and have good interpersonal skills to make you feel empathetically understood. While all the veterinarians are excellent, my primary doc for my cats is Dr. Jennifer Smith who knows all my fur babies and checks in with about them. I wouldn't change working with Coronado.

Our family dog passed away and the people were very nice however I didn’t appreciate my dogs collar being cremated without even being asked if we wanted it. Since we were unaware we have to request it, it would extremely helpful if staff can offer that as an option before taking the pet. My entire family is heart broken that we didn’t receive the collar and that we didn’t even know about that rule, we wanted to have a set up with her ashes, photo, with her collar.

This clinic is so compassion and caring. After our cat was diagnosed with liver cancer and had to be put to sleep, Dr. Smith sent us a card with a handwritten note expressing her sympathy for our loss.

This vet had committed to giving my dog an appointment which would have established her as a new patient. However, my dog had an emergency and due to a current shortage of emergency vets could not be seen by emergency clinics. This vet who agreed to be her provider, turned her away repeatedly in her hour of need. A more caring clinic in town agreed to see her in what turned out to be a severe case of pancreatitis. This vet absolutely needs to either close their clinic to new patients or hire more vets.They can not meet the needs of their patients. They feel it is an acceptable policy that they will not help their own patients in an emergency. Even though they are aware of the ER shortage. They are aware their own patients may not get access to emergency care. Any veterinary clinic who decides to make a policy such as this, should not be entrusted with anyone’s pets. No matter what their excuses, this was a negligent level of care from a practice that agreed to be her vet. If their top priority isn’t my dog’s wellness, then this business doesn’t know what their job is. My dog lost precious days of treatment in what may turn out to be a fatal illness. I will never forgive this vet. Please take your pets to another responsible veterinarian! Update: My dog was since moved to VCA hospital. Today Carly from Coronado Pet Hospital called to cancel my dog’s appointment with them because they saw my review. Didn’t apologize for not trying to help her. Didn’t ask how she was doing. Nothing. I think this clinic is utterly disgusting. They need to do a little soul searching and remember the reason they became vets. RE: Response From The Owner. I called Coronado more than once over the course of a few days. The second time I called, I asked the receptionist if she was aware that the emergency vets she was referring me to, were turning people away. She said that Coronado is aware of the ER shortage. I made the receptionist aware my dog had still not received help. She placed me on hold to speak to a vet and you turned my dog away. If you’ve committed to being any animal’s vet, you need to TAKE CARE OF THEM. You did not do the right thing for my dog. Of course this was a lack of compassion. My dog SUFFERED because I made the mistake of choosing your clinic to be her vet. At the time of this review, Coronado’s website clearly states they will not accept emergencies. All care is by appointment only. This is a dangerous situation for all your clients as long as ER’s are turning animals away. I believe many regular veterinary clinics do not have such a horrible policy and will fit in emergencies during open hours if you’re willing to drop off the pet at the clinic for the day. All of your patients should be alarmed by the inhumane decision making that’s going on at this clinic during this crisis of ER shortage.

My Newfie, Armand, and I are so grateful to have found Coronado Pet Hospital. Dr. Smith and her staff are professional, upbeat, and very knowledgable. I really appreciate Dr. Smith's communication style, willingness to answer the silliest of questions, and help me make very informed decisions. Armand is in the BEST HANDS!

Dr. Jennifer Smith is an amazing vet, so compassionate and professional! She has been so good to my kitties! Bella is absolutely thriving under her care. Carly and the entire staff is fantastic. I would recommend over & over.

New to the area and needed help with my cat’s final needs. Everyone I dealt with were wonderful, compassionate, and patient professionals. Despite the complications of the current COVID-19 situation. While still maintaining a safe situation. They were able to help me with Blue’s final needs and they were able to find a way for me to be with him in his final moments. The whole process was very professional, compassionate, and dignified. Thank you Coronado Pet Hospital! The vets here are amazing. Such caring people. Dr. Smith is a godsend. Truly a caring heart. The front desk staff have always been so nice and warm. I wish they could expand to provide inpatient admission rather than us having to use petroglyph. The experience there is night and day. Thank you, Coronado. You do such good work.

Coronado Pet Hospital is the best. Dr. Smith and Dr. Melloy are knowledgeable, kind, and take care of the pet owners with the same compassion and love as they do the animals. The techs and staff show the same kindness and efficiency. Over the years, I have entrusted them with the care of 5 of my dogs and always received the very best of care.

Best place in town. I’ve been taking my dogs here for for 10 years. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Every time I take my dogs here I know they are in the best care.
