I really like the people at this animal shelter. Their prices seem reasonable and they provided us with all of our potential options. Before, we had only gone here for our vaccines and recommendations, but we recently had a health scare with our kitty and they were able to schedule us very quickly and provide advice until we were able to come in. Best of all they were able to help my cat and she made a full recovery. Would recommend them to anyone in Durango!

My furry family members have seen Dr Hawman for 20+ years. Dr H always thoroughly explains treatment options and his recommendations. I've never worked with a better vet. He's a gem! And I have no complaints whatsoever about DAH. Thanks for being there for my critters and me all these years.

We’re new to the area and we were having a difficult time finding a vet. Durango Animal Hospital got us right in. Our fur baby needs a simple surgery, which we were expecting. They wrote up an estimate for the surgery that included optional services that they said we could have done if we wanted but it wasn’t required. I appreciate their honesty in letting us know what services we could do without if we so chose. Most offices just hand you an outrageously priced bill and don’t mention that some charges are optional. The techs and Dr. were very friendly and explained everything. I would highly recommend this office!

I've been taking my dog and cat here for 6 years and have been really frustrated over the last 6 months or so when scheduling appointments. My animals have always seen Dr. Eckart, who is a great vet (all the vets here are great). Recently it's been like pulling teeth to get them in to him at the times I want. I always tell the person scheduling I'm willing to push back (non-emergency) appointments a couple of day to see Dr. Eckart at a time that works for me. I don't know if the techs just don't have a very good system or what. I recently took my dog in for her checkup and after much back and forth with the tech, I settled on a time I didn't want (had to take extra time off work), thinking I was taking her to Dr. Eckart. Turns out it was a different vet, and I didn't even get a convenient time. Maybe look into a better scheduling system.

Our Eclectus Parrot had Feet and Wing Twitching. Kept getting worse. Was afraid it was beginning of Seizures. Turns out he had a pretty bad foot injury. Now with Antibiotics he should be well in about a week. Whew, Sure LOVE this Fun Loving Talking Parrot. I was so sad to see him suffering and didn't know how to help him.

Durango Animal Hospital has been amazing to us! They care about our bunnies and spayed 1 with no issues, the second spay has only had issues because our silly bunny wants to pick at her stitches, however the staff here has graciously looked at her each time and shown love to our bunnies! They even grow dandelions just for bunnies❤️ I just love that!

Durango Animal Hospital is the one place I trust for all 3 of my dogs and my exotic pets. They are quick to get them in and are knowledgeable. They always treat my animals with love and respect.
