I have to say that St. Francis was wonderful with my dog. He ripped opened his leg and we had rushed him there. The staff were so sweet and great with him and the vet herself was awesome. The vet came in to assess his wound and she literally got on the floor with him to make sure he was comfortable with her. The nurse we had was Cassie and she was so great with him and myself I can’t say enough about her. I highly recommend them if you need an emergency vet.

Took my cat Ivy here on a Sunday for an emergency because my regular vet was closed. The staff was very friendly and professional. Ivy is slowly getting back to her normal self. Thank you so much!

I wish I could give this place 0 stars honestly. My 2 year old dog was wobbling and drunk looking and wasn’t drinking or eating anything. Once the staff heard that we were in our 20s they diagnosed her as ingesting marijuana and refused to believe anything different. Like I told Dr. Payne, unless she grew thumbs, there was no chance in hell that is what happened. I was genuinely concerned for my dogs well being, and all the staff wanted to do was discriminate against us. We left after 4+ hours, $170 wasted for them to do NOTHING. As we walked out the lady up front had the audacity to tell us she “looked better” as my dog was falling over and peeing herself. Really can’t believe the terrible service we received. Your job is to care for animals, not discriminate against their owners. Very disappointed in both Dr. Payne and his staff. Take the drive and go to Mt. Laurel or literally anywhere else. You can view their response below which contains the same discriminatory verbiage and treatment that we received. There was no possible way my dog ingested marijuana, and this attitude is completely unacceptable. This place truly cares little for its patients and it shows in their lazy effort to treat them. It is the following day and her symptoms have NOT improved so it CLEARLY is not marijuana poisoning.

Most unprofessional, disrespectful staff I have ever experienced. Speechless to say the least. There are many reviews on here that speak to Dr. Lang giving clients an attitude and then blaming the client for being argumentative when they were asking simple questions. This was my exact experience. I wish I read reviews before I sat there for 3 hours to be disregarded, disrespected and asked to leave with my dog untreated and in worse condition than when I arrived. Melissa Megahan was the “Client Manager” on staff. She should be embarrassed about how the Doctor at this facility treats clients and how she, as the client manager, chose to handle the situation today. If this was the first negative review like this I would chalk this up to these women being stressed due to being understaffed, but this doctor and the facility has a reputation that should not be overlooked.

Our dog suddenly became very ill and could no longer stand or walk. This was the only hospital who would take her, and we arrived an hour before they closed. While anxiously waiting to get an update on our dog, we noticed all of the not so great reviews. I just wanted to say - I disagree about them being “money hungry” like many reviews mentioned. I’ve never been to a vet office where I felt so many people truly cared about the well being and health of my dog. Maleena and Dr.Payne made us feel comfortable and were honest. Our doggie is still not herself, and we are still trying to figure out what’s going on (no fault of this practice) but wanted to get this review up. Not many people write in about good experiences and it’s a shame! Thank you again.

Excellent & Courteous Staff - Just Need More Vet Coverage! I would have given a five star if I were evaluating the staff courtesy and care only! We took my dog here for an emergency visit on Sunday. The staff including Allie, Cher and Autumn were outstanding. They were very kind professional and communicated frequently during a very long delayed wait, despite that my dog was in the back for 4 hours. They were other emergencies (life threatening) that arrived which is understandable for proper triage purposes. The vet himself was kind, knowledgeable and informative despite that he had no time to really do diagnostic test and the dog was sedated for several hours and we wanted to get the dog discharged. The only issue is that this appears how the corporate practice of veterinary medicine might be happening. It is well known, especially since Covid, that staffing shortages including vets themselves are existing. And one physician can not reasonably be expected to care for several pet life threatening emergencies along with transfers to overnight facilities by themselves and care for the multiple other patients timely. There needs to be some type of back up or call system (obviously more cost) but a plan in the event of a day like the day we were there to provide care. All these challenges considered, people just want their pets to get timely and effective attention. That should be the goal! Again an "Excellent Staff", Thank you!

This morning we had to rush our 12yo Maltese to the emergency vet. They were the only ones who would even see us. Our fur baby was in pain and we wanted him seen ASAP. Unfortunately due to his age and not wanting him to suffer, we did decide to lay him to rest. The staff and the Veterinarian were all very compassionate. We stayed while he was laid to rest and the vet spoke to our baby with love and hugged and kissed him. That truly mattered to me. Thank you all for treating our little guy like he mattered. We appreciate you all.

I brought my dog in there for emergency care on Labor Day. He was very sick and stayed there for two days. My bulldog is 11 years old it may not get better. That being said, everybody there was extremely kind, responsive, patient and for that I truly appreciate it. It is true getting great vet care is not cheap but it was well worth it to get the care that I received. I will be using them for all of my dogs care moving forward. This is my first and only review I’ve ever left.

The fact they call themselves St Francis is akin to blasphemy in a way. This is a purely profit driven place that preys on peoples vulnerabilities in their love for their pets. They are all about fees fees fees and extras and addons and really not about solving the problem...

I’m not one to ever go out of my way to post a review unless it’s absolutely necessary. My mini poodle had an accident to where her eye popped out of its socket. She was taken back and we were told that we would get a call from the nurse. Two hours went by and we still hadn’t gotten a call so we called the office and the nurse called us back. They gave us our plan of action and not even 30 minutes later, brought my dog out and said we can’t help you, take her to another facility. I understand short staffing due to the pandemic but why couldn’t they just said that in the beginning. Instead they had my dog with her eye out, in a cage just sitting there but because she wasn’t showing signs of distress or pain, they left her alone. How could you do that to an animal ? What if that was your eye ? I asked them if they could put something over her eye for travel to another facility or ease her pain and they told me they would have to charge me for a visit for any kind of help rendered. I’ve never been so disappointed in a facility.

No one harmed my pet or anything like that. I’m rating this place a 1 because I notice some of the vets they have are scammers. So BEWARE. They might play on your emotions and ask you to do tests and X-rays they know you don’t need just for extra cash. Not even considering of what kind of day that person is having or their financial struggles. Of course I love my cat so I paid what I had to and now I know what to be aware of for next time. Hopefully this saves anyone from it ever happening to you :) God bless

I know there have been some negative reviews but my boyfriend and I really lucked out with our visit. Our kitty started growling and hissing right before we went to bed and I saw some discharge on the end of his private area. St Francis is only 7 mins away from us so it made sense to bring him to closest place. We were seen right away even though they are super short staffed. (I honestly felt bad, every workplace is so short since the pandemic) they were extremely helpful and kept in close contact. My cat had crystals but was able to push them out on his own since it was the very beginning. I thank the two vets and nurses that’s took care of him. They could have charged us for a catheter but they felt like it wasn’t necessarily since my little guy was trying to go to the bathroom and didn’t have a fever, or any major blockage signs. They ended up giving some of our money back since my cat didn’t need the procedure. Yes we are thankful we saved money but we are more thankful that our cat didn’t need to go under anesthesia and have a catheter for a couple days. I really appreciated them not going to any extremes but keeping such close eye on him. The nurses even let him snuggle up on them to make him less stressed about his environment. They sent us home with meds, food, and advice to prevent any more crystals. (The X-rays showed he has a small bladder) they even called the next two days to check up on him. They place was super clean and friendly. We had a great experience

My dog had an allergic reaction to something and at 12 midnight she began having trouble breathing. After calling my vet and other emergency numbers to no avail or call backs, we got in touch with St Francis hospital. They were a life saver for my dog and me. They gave us directions on what to do and stayed in the phone with us till we arrived at the hospital which was over 30 minutes. We could not go in with her because of CoVid but they kept us informed throughout the time. The gave her medicine, did blood work, and kept her for observation till they were sure she was ok. The cost was less than I pay the regular vet for a normal, uneventful visit. Thank you to all at St Francis for your personalized service and care of my baby.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE! DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE! DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE! Besides the countless negative reviews this hopeless animal hospital has, my friend has had a personal horrific experience from this place and what they did to her fur baby. She is a dear friend of mine and I am writing this review out of empathy for her own experience. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL TO THIS HOSPITAL!

Brought my dog in for what we suspected was an obstruction (a medical emergency). They took x-rays and told us they would admit her overnight so she could have blood work and ultrasounds done. They released her in the morning (no blood work or ultrasound were done) saying the X-rays showed no sign of obstruction. She continued to get worse. We took her to another hospital with the X-rays. They took one look at the X-rays and said she had an obstruction. She had emergency surgery that night at one in the morning and unfortunately she lost more intestine than she needed to because it took so long to be corrected. If I had listened to their advice of just giving her prescribed medicine and not gone to another hospital, she would have absolutely died.

Waited for 3 1/2 hours and ended up walking out on top of waiting that long it was an hour drive to get to this hospital. The doctor gave attitude and started getting loud then said I was argumentative when I was asking simple questions about my cat and the testing she said he needed then says well what test is important well duh all of them if I'm bringing my sick cat to you. She also throws in my face she has 10 other patients, honestly I'm a paying customer also and I don't care if you have 50 other patients, if I have questions about the tests your about to perform on my 16yr old cat then I'm going to ask away. The doctor took an ear swab and just layed it on the dirty floor that people walk on and other animals have accidents on and when ask she said oh it's fine so she was asked to take another swab and she refused. At this point I was over it and left. I wouldn't take a pet fly here

I took my cat in for a blockage. He stayed the night and the vet was not successful in unblocking him. The next morning I had to pick him up and take him to Mt Laurel Animal Hospital. For a visit of 16 hours and an unsuccessful procedure, the visit here cost almost $1,600! Meanwhile, Mt Laurel was successful with the procedure, and after a 72 hr hospital stay with fluids, medication, and multiple blood tests to ensure his kidney levels were decreasing- and being sent home with pain meds, antibiotics, anxiety meds and a few cans of the specialty food, the cost was only $1,000 more than what I paid at this facility. I was warned not to take my pet here in the first place but being the closest emergency room, I wanted to get him somewhere quickly. I was extremely disappointed and will not take my pet here again.

My Maltese dog had an emergency and my regular Vet had no Urgent Care on the night I need to have my dog seen as an emergency. It was suggested by them to get her to a 24 hour Animal Hospital or Urgent Care. I took her to this hospital and they examined her and Dr. Payne told me my options. He was very honest and said that she had a heart condition that would take her life in possibly 3 days to a week. He then explained a procedure that would possibly give her more time but would have risks and he could not guarantee it. He also told me she would need to have it repeated again and again. He gave me the option of having her euthanized. I was crying and crying and he was very patient. I asked if he would call my adult son and explain it all to him and he did. I was given a itemized cost of both options. There was never any pressure to take the higher cost procedure. I decided if the procedure would just be a limited fix and have to be done again until she ran out of time, I chose to have her euthanized. Again, no pressure at all. I wasn’t concerned by cost. I was given as much time as I wanted in a private room with my dog. When I was ready, I let them know. Dr.Payne came in and explained step by step what to expect and My baby was wrapped in a soft furry blanket and she was put in my arms with her head on my shoulder and I was with her to the end. It was a peaceful ending and she knew I was there. The Dr and everyone there was compassionate and caring. I bawled the whole time. I came to pick up her ashes and they were in a beautiful wooden box and her name engraved. They had made her paw print in a mold. Again, I was told how sorry they were for my loss.

From the depths of my soul I will forever hate this place. I brought my dog to St. Francis august 2020 due to an emergency I had with my dog. St. Francis not only is beyond insensitive but clearly just money hungry. St. Francis did NOT do their job. They wrongfully diagnosed my dog. When she had the same symptoms as last august I called asking questions And they brushed me off and said that they were booked up and I needed to bring her elsewhere. They also told me that it was impossible for her to be diagnosed with the same thing twice. Luckily for me they were booked up. I took my dog to another animal hospital. Urgent care for pets in Sewell. And they showed me her charts and showed me how Saint Francis wrongfully diagnosed my dog so by the time it was called it was too late. I also visited Mount Laurel animal hospital where they confirmed she was wrongfully diagnosed at this cruel hospital. I don’t need a response from anyone at this location I just need for you to do better. You’ve been warned, don’t take your pet here.

Just got home from there after a 3 and a half hour ER visit. Brought my dog in holding her in my arms and the first question the vet tech asked me was "Where's your mask?" Terrible experience.

All they care about is your money. My dog was in terrible condition, doctor said she was fine and in good weight. She clearly isn’t. Waited hours and hours just for them to say “she’s fine, can I have my $200?” You’re joking right? I will never recommend this place to my friends and family who care about their pets. Edit on 6/22/2021 Our dog passed away a few days after we took her to this hospital after they claimed she was fine. Never again trusting Saint Francis ever again.

2 1/2 hours I waited, cars that came in after me have come and gone. Ridiculous, my dog just needed antibiotics for a mouth sore. I have gone many times to emergency care because I’m involved in animal rescue never have had such poor service.

First off, have them write a script (if they have a script pad that day) if any medication is needed. Paid 1000% above cost from goodrx and chewy. So our new dog had a cough over the weekend, and most vets weren't opening till Monday, and we didn't want to wait. Since his previous owner took him here we figured why not. Big mistake. Seriously understaffed by overworked vets. Lack of medication for even the most common types of illness (kennel cough). Had to wait for someone with a script pad to write an rx for a day since the doctors didn't have one. Wrote script for medication that was known to have a shortage on. Promised prescriptions would be avail and ready at their parent location, only to arrive and be told they had no idea what was going on and had heard nothing about it 40 minutes later. 2 days and $1,200 later we finally had two 35 pill scripts.

This review is specifically for Dr Payne. He took care of us last night when my 10 month old puppy went lifeless on us. He understood that we are on a budget and explained everything with us. While I myself was feeling completely helpless and sitting on the curb crying, Dr. Payne came to sit beside me(while social distancing at the same time) to explain everything in great detail. My little girl is ok today and I know there were so many trying to make this possible. Thank you to Nicole and the staff for giving my girl some extra love while she struggled to feel better and once again THANK YOU Dr. Payne from the bottom of my heart ❤️

I will never bring my dogs back here!!! Its best to travel a little further out to mount laurel or wherever just as long as its not at this place. I had the worst experience ever!!!! They are lucky to even get one star they don't deserve any stars at all!!

Just brought in the dog for an emergency. Probably had a stroke. He’s an old man. They stopped me at the door and has me fill out an online questionnaire for covid. I’m not allowed in because of covid. It’s a vet hospital and covid is far over. Can we be serious? I have zero decision making abilities with my own pet because they essentially kidnapped them inside without me being allowed in. We don’t even do this in real hospitals.
