I wasn’t expecting such a quick response and willingness to take an injured bird - a sparrow even

Took a red tailed hawk to him a few weeks back with a broken wing. Just had the pleasure of taking part in her release. The care Elkie got while she was there and the attention to all his birds is just amazing. There is nothing more than saying that they are awesome!!!

Asking for help for a swan that had fish hook and lure stuck in mouth. Told me he doesn't do swans and started yelling at me saying I was rude! I asked if he had a net we could borrow to catch this swan and he went into a tirade of being a volunteer, not getting paid! Then get your phone # off listing web and tell wildlife management to not give it out! Terrible experience!

The nicest man ever I brought him a very injured baby sparrow in the middle of our area just going through a tornado and he was so helpful. I couldn’t get through since electric was out in the area and he wasn’t upset I just showed up with this hurt baby. Prayers for the baby sparrow it has a pretty bad bump on his head!!! Offered a donation but he wouldn’t accept it. God Bless people that help animals in need especially just coming out of a tornado with no electricity this says a lot about someone!!! Thank you again for your kindness!!!

I found an injured seagull by the Bay who couldn't fly. Was not sure if it had a broken wing or something else. I called Toms River avian care and started to leave a message when the gentleman answered the phone and I told him about the seagull. He didn't hesitate to tell me to bring it down. So needless to say I drove with the seagull on the floor in the front of my truck all the way to Toms River from Bayville and he was waiting for me in the driveway. He pick the seagull up in such a gentle manner felt around on its wings and told me doesn't seem to have any broken wings but possibly soft tissue damage maybe has been hit by a car. I felt relieved knowing that the bird was in good hands and with somebody who knew exactly what they needed to do to help the seagull. As I drove away I had tears in my eyes because I knew if I wasn't in the spot that I was in the poor baby would have probably been killed not being able to protect itself. Thank you Toms River avian care for being the angel to care for these poor Birds who cannot care for themselves when they get hurt.

Saved a seagull with a fractured wing today that we found near our house on LBI. Toms River Avian Care was great! Very impressive rescue operation with knowledge and compassion.

Called a few times, left a message but never returned my call. If you weren't Interested in the bird, at least give some decency and let the person know so they can find another location ASAP.

Left a message for abandoned mallard eggs, 3 days later, no response. I wouldn't have minded as much if they called and said they can't do anything. Would leave 0 stars. They are not a help....at all. I am now incubating them and giving them the care that they were ignored with initially.

This place was great. They took care of a Screech Owl that fell from a tree that we brought them. This is a great organization with a great group of people.

I had the same experience as the person above me. I called and left a message regarding a duck with a broken wing. I did not receive a response. He should be ashamed of himself. I bet if the message I left had been about an eagle with a broken wing I would have gotten a response. I guess "just a duck" isn't worthy enough to get him off his couch.
