Edit; thanks for the reply telling me what I already know… By far, the worst insurance company I’ve ever dealt with. I had to bring my cat in to the vet because he was starting to show behavioral issues (including but not limited to marking on my things and on the dog’s things). When I first got him, he would illuminate outside of his litter box, but solely for the fact that he didn’t know how to use one and I had to show him how. The vet that I go to said in the description that he’s had an inappropriate elimination issue before, and so of course the pumpkin insurance company immediately classified the behavioral issues as a pre-existing condition and did not cover the invoice. Along with calling pumpkin myself, and several of the veterinarian technicians from my vet calling pumpkin to tell them that this was a mistake, and also including several invoices from the time I first got him showing that he did not have behavioral issues as an existing condition, they still have failed to do the right thing. They are just another selfish insurance company that wants money, nothing more. Go with nationwide or trupanion instead

Awful. Got charged 3 payments all at once then failed to reinstate. Done. 3 hours on hold and still didn’t get a hold of a person.

All in all the best Company I found after research. Excellent customer service. Only one thing, I am not happy with the method of claim payment nor felt it to be timely. Otherwise all is well. R White Moore OK

Terrible experience, would not recommend at all! I jumped through their hoops, submitted veterinarian notes, paid invoices a number of times and they continued to ask me for paper work I had already submitted. They said they requested info from my vet, they never did. I mailed them invoices etc (their site is impossible to upload scanned documents) and they claimed they never received them. My dog had an injury which ended up costing me over $2000, they never paid a cent on this valid claim. But they did raise my monthly rate! Go elsewhere for pet insurance!

After shopping around with three other pet insurances, I signed up for Pumpkin for my 3 1/2 month old Havanese on 12/31/21 and by 1/4/22 they had already deposited my first claim into my bank account. They were very responsive with questions before I signed up and they really have the best overall insurance plan - they make the pricing very easy without all of the add-ons you have to do with the other insurances. Looking forward to a long relationship.

I brought my cat to the vet submitted my claim within 24 hours I had everything I needed and in 48 hours I had money back I highly recommend pumpkin I had a great experience and no trouble Filing the claim was so easy 123

If you call for any quote related question they are more interested in not selling a policy. They seem to believe the worst in people right up front. I get daily emails from them so I decided to inquire. Inquiry felt like an inquisition instead. I can't tell you if the product is good because I cannot seem to get more than a double speak answer.

This was the biggest mistake. It has been an absolute nightmare ever since I signed up. My cat is elderly, so I was prepared to pay a lot to protect him. I'm paying $79 a month, which I was ok with, since I know he's old. I paid for several months before needing to take him to the vet the first time. For his first visit, the vet recommended a dental cleaning and to pull a bad tooth and also some senior blood work. The blood work revealed the lowest stage/earliest stage of kidney disease. He has had annual blood work every year before and all his levels were normal, so this was a NEW disease. Not pre-existing. Pumpkin refused to pay for any part of his dental (which some of which I understand because he had tarter before this visit) but also refused to cover ANY part of his brand new kidney disease stating it was pre-existing. I was not prepared to pay for thousands of dollars worth of care and not receive a single cent back. What was more was that it took a full 60 days for either of the claims to go through. So I was already paying back the credit card bills before I knew the claims had been rejected. I tried to call on the phone several times but was left waiting until I was put on a call-back cue. When they did finally call back, they could not answer any of my questions about why on earth the kidney disease was determined to be pre-existing when I sent them his old medical records and it was never there before. I finally filed an appeal to fight the decision. That was weeks ago and I haven't received even a confirmation email telling me that they received it or not. I tried to call today but the entire company is down and the phones are offline. I emailed the help desk and they came back with an automated message saying appeals could take 30-60 days. I explained that's not what I asked. All I want to know is if they received the appeal. It's a yes or no question and they can't even answer that. I haven't heard back about weather they even HAVE the appeal on file. Branding my cat with his kidney disease as pre-existing will make ANY and ALL payouts impossible in the future for that illness even if I chose to switch insurance companies at this point. So their mistake will LITERALLY KILL my cat, because I will not be able to afford a chronic disease without help, which is the entire reason I chose to pay out the nose for "good" insurance! Pumpkin is terrible. Everything from their turn around time, to their customer care, to their claims handling to their prices. I've wasted days of my life emailing and calling and checking up on the wrong decisions they've made just to get no answer on anything. I'm out thousands and thousands of dollars. They ruined me financially and because I chose the wrong insurance, my cat will eventually die. Pick ANY other pet insurance company. Any one but this one.

I adopted a pug named Pumpkin in September 2020. Knowing the breed tends to have some health issues, I thought I should consider pet insurance even though I had never bothered with it in the past. When researching online, I came across Pumpkin Pet Insurance. After reading some reviews, I decided to try it since it had the same name as my dog…I am so glad I signed up! Last summer, we were walking home from the park and poor Pumpkin got stung by “something” and had anaphylaxis reactions. We had to go to the animal ER and poor Pumpkin stayed overnight. To make a long story short, thank goodness for Pumpkin Pet Insurance…it came through for us! It was very easy to file the claims and the staff were very helpful and responsive to emails when I had questions. Due to the severity of Pumpkin’s reactions, additional treatments were recommended by the vet and specialist. I was able to to follow up with the recommended care because of Pumpkin Pet Insurance. I highly recommend Pumpkin Pet Insurance!

This is first experience with pet insurance and I have been impressed. Fast response in claim processing and payments. Premiums were less than leading brand but coverage was the same. So far I am extremely pleased.

Pumpkin Pet Insurance has been great to work with and we are glad that after all the research we did, we chose them as our pet insurance provider. They are reasonably priced, their online portals UX/UI is VERY clean and easy to use and they are quick to process claims and reimburse, so long as your vet is quick to get them the information they need (fortunately ours is) 10/10 would recommend Pumpkin Pet Insurance to any of my friends or family!

Pumpkin has been amazing so far! We recently adopted a little black lab puppy who likes to get into everything and has an affinity for eating socks as is pretty consistent with the breed. We knew we’d need some sort of pet insurance in case anything were to happen to our chaotic companion. We knew right away Pumpkin was the company for us! Signing up was easy and making a claim is even easier! I would recommend Pumpkin to anyone considering pet insurance, they are a wonderful company that always has your back when it comes to your loved ones.

Be aware: the preventative coverage is essentially not insurance at all, as it only covers up to exactly what you pay for the plan. Pumpkin will also take every opportunity to deny your claims for injury and illness on technicalities and then force you into a lengthy appeals process. After almost 6 months and several urgent vet visits for my dog, I can safely say that it would have been more profitable to have no pet insurance at all than to have Pumpkin pet insurance. Additional note: The individual agents I have interacted with have been very kind and responsive. I think they deserve a lot of credit for dealing with this company's structural shortcomings.

I chose Pumpkin because they have the preventive essentials package (paid extra but so worth it). I have two cats who are one year old. After comparing plans theirs was the most comprehensive by far. When it came time to submit a claim, it was the easiest process and customer service was quick to answer any of my questions. My claim was paid in full within 24 hours and was deposited directly into my account. I am very happy with their service. Although I hope I won’t have a need for it, I am glad Pumpkin will be there to take care of my cats’ needs.

My daughters kitty got very sick all of a sudden and had to be hospitalized for several days. Knowing she had pumpkin pet insurance we did not hesitate to take him to the pet hospital for treatment that saved his life!! Submitting the claim was so easy and she got reimbursed 90%of the hospital bill. I highly recommend pumpkin pet insurance for any pet.

I am so thankful for pumpkin pet insurance. My little pomeranian is a wild child, but we have pumpkin so that helps take off some of the financial burden. My little guy broke his front right leg when he jumped off the couch after a toy, which meant a trip to the emergency vet, x-rays, meds. The first thing anyone says when you tell them what happened they ask "Do you have pet insurance?" I always reply back with " I sure do, I have pumpkin." You just never know what is going to happen but its comforting to know you have it and it is a decent turnaround time.

We have many pet insurances to choose from, so I weighed all of the choices and decided on Pumpkin for my new puppy, and could not be happier! My puppy injured his leg, so I submitted our claim within the first 3 months of having him. They reviewed the claim (which took about a month) and reimbursed me according to our plan. The follow up visits were processed much faster, and direct deposited straight into my account! So increadibly easy!

Have (unfortunately) had to use our pumpkin plan several times for our puppy who just can't stop getting into trouble. Have been extremely happy with the system top to bottom. Very easy to submit claims online, fast turnaround on processing, and the coverage has paid for itself.

They always respond on an timely manner. The 2nd time I claim, it took awhile but they got the money for me. My cat passed away last month. I didn’t have the mind set to do anything and I was charged for last month and this month’s insurance. After filling for the claim this month, they refunded me my money. They have a heart for our pet. Recommend.
