We were so happy that our boy Duke was able to be treated for his emergency at their beautiful new office in Barnaget! Our own veterinary group was unable to see Duke after he stepped on a piece of …

Very nice over the phone trying to help us before bringing in our puppy. Thank you for worrying about the puppy and not just collecting money ????

Our labradoodle swallowed a loaf of bread dough while we were away from home. We were very worried. We found JSVE online. We called. They said come in. They are 16 minutes away from our house and we waited only 5 minutes from arrival to be assisted. They were kind, clear, helpful, quick, gentle and efficient. And willing to explain. We had Dr. Denning and we were quite impressed. The fees were fair for an urgent care in comparison to other places we’ve visited. Kudos and thanks to JSVE!

My fiancé and I rushed our dog to Jersey Shore Veterinary hospital in Lakewood, NJ. I walked in carrying my dog in a blanket. No one was in the waiting room, so I said “Helloo.” A girl quickly came out and asked if I had an appointment. I said no, as I was here for an emergency, and she told me to check in on the Kiosk. I entered my name, phone number, and my dogs profile popped up. The next screen displayed appointment dates and times, the first one being Monday at 6:00am. We were there on a Saturday around 5-6 pm. I did not know what to click, as I wasn’t making an appointment for Monday. I went back to screen a few minutes later, and started the check in progress again, but the same thing happened and I could only select Monday. My fiancé and I sat down and waited. The floor in the waiting room was dirty, it looked like it had not been swept and mopped in weeks. I was already questioning if I really wanted me dog to be seen here and just had a bad feeling overall. We sat and waited, still none in the waiting room, no one coming out. I could hear staff behind the closed door, and it sounded like laughter and causal conversation. My fiancé called the facility number while we were in the waiting room! He was connected to an operator, who said we didn’t check in correctly. She said hold on, and she will call them. I told my fiancé I wanted to leave immediately! We grabbed both dogs and my fiancé shouted “Thanks for the help” while walking out. Two staff members quickly came out and came outside. I placed my sick dog in the car and then I confronted them. They continued to talk about the Kiosk, saying I should of just hit Monday and then I would of been properly checked in. How in the world would I know to hit Monday??? They was no use in wasting my time fighting about a glitch in their Kiosk system, that I was suppose to apparently know about! We rushed my dog to Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls. Extremely rude staff, didn’t care at all about my dog. The office manager said she will call me to discuss what happened , never called. Very unprofessional!

Thank you so much to the amazing staff! My fur baby passed away on our way to the vet but the vet was so kind to explain everything to us. Everyone is so kind so compassionate so understanding. Even though there was nothing we could do thank you everyone for explaining to us what happened and giving us some closure.

I’ve only had one bad experience here and that was just due to volume issues. Otherwise, they have always been so kind in my times of need. Thank you for being for me last night with Elliott. Doing the right thing is never easy. I wanted to be selfish.. to avoid the pain.. but I would never let my animals suffer to make me happy. Again, thank you.

Had several great experiences at this vet with Dr Fenwick. More recently we took our baby kitten there with a sprained toe and Dr Denning helped us. He was extremely knowledgeable and spent plenty of time with us going over treatments & was even honest about not needing an xray, which would have cost an additional $270. He even spent time with us talking about our other cats that have had some issues. I highly recommending bringing your pets here if you want the best treatment! Side note: the facility was extremely clean! Smelled super fresh. Great job!

Once again, another place that does not care about animals, just the dollar sign! I literally live right next door.. I explained my dog is bleeding from rectal badly... need emergency help asap. They said I better come with enough $$ or he will not be seen. Even for meds. I explained I can make payments and can come with $150. She stated if he needs more than a Dr visit he will not receive help. Dont Vets take an Oath like REAL Dr's do???? They will allow a pet to die - they do not care!

Excellent, quick service, very knowledgeable vets, kind and friendly staff. Both my cats had urinary problems within a week of each other. Needless to say, I was a wreck! This place healed my babies and gave me comfort knowing they were in good hands. We were seen very quickly and I didn’t think it was that expensive. Tigger had to stay for a couple of days. I called once- sometimes twice- a day and the staff always gave me updates and answered all my questions! If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency, I highly recommend bringing them here. Thanks you guys! You’re the best! Tigger and Winnie say thank you too!!

The staff was amazing! So helpful from the very moment they picked up my frantic initial phone call. As soon as we arrive they swiftly whisked our pup away and began to work on her. They were able to get her to throw up the foreign object she swallowed. I can’t thank them enough!!!

Laura, Zoe and Mike were absolutely amazing with my fearful dog Beans. She is going to be 6 in January and this was her first positive vet experience! They were kind and respectful of my dog and her space, worked with her and gave treats and did not betray her trust afterwards. By the end of the visit, Beans was all over the doctor showing her all kinds of love, it was amazing. I am switching vets and driving over 40 minutes to continue my dog's veterinary care that the Jersey Shore Veterinary service in Barnegat. Thank you thank you thank you all so much!!

I called JSVES after my regular vet couldn't be bothered to return an emergency call. I called another vet that I had used a few times and they gave me a number for JSVES. My cat Nevada was exhibiting signs of a urinary blockage. I spoke to Mary first and she assured me I could come in immediately. Nearly as soon as I arrived I was brought into an examining room and Ellen came in to start the examination. They were both so kind and professional. Dr. Fenwick examined Nevada and determined that he was completely blocked up. They were able to take care of him immediately and even took care of a dental issue that had been bothering. I received better care walking in off the street than I've ever gotten from my regular vet. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you so much for your quick work. A urinary blockage can be deadly and I'm still waiting for a call back from my regular vet. Thank you, JSVES.

Thank you Dr Laura C. for taking care of our beloved dog Savannah with such compassion and kindness. It was very difficult for our autistic son Isaiah to understand that sometimes is better to let go, but you explain to him so kindly that he understood the situation well. Now she is my sons guardian Angel. ???????? Thank you for the beautiful card.

We brought my 10 year old pit mix Maris there recently after she hurt herself playing in the yard. I was pretty nervous because she can be skiddish around new people. Christina and Laura were INCREDIBLE with her. I was an absolute mess and thought the worst and they were thorough and compassionate with my old girl! We can not thank you guys enough for getting her on the road to recovery!

When my dog passed away suddenly late on a Sunday night, I took him here and the staff was amazing....kind, compassionate and so very patient. I was also super happy that they send a sympathy note a few days later with his paw print (which I was in no condition to get Sunday night). Wonderful, efficient staff!

Dr. Fenwick and staff saved my cat's life. He was having trouble going and was becoming very vocal and sitting in the litter box for long periods. So we brought him to Jersey Shore Vet Emergency at 3am on a Sat night. Luckily they are open 24 hours over the weekends. It turns out he had a life threatening urinary blockage. Dr. Fenwick and his staff recognized it immediately and performed a procedure to relieve the blockage. They had to keep him for two days and the staff were very kind to field all our calls to check on him. :) And there were many. We are very happy that our baby is home with us and doing better and it is because of Dr. Fenwick, Dr. Cromal and Christina, their Vet Tech.

Noone likes to have to visit these places however, knowing your pet is in distress I had to take my beloved Titan . They were busy but I needed assistance to get my 140lb dog inside to be seen. The tech's were on standby and lifted him onto a gurney and took him inside. Mike at the front desk gathered all the info and let me know as soon as they accessed my "baby" they would consult me. Abby and Erin brought me to the room and Dr. Laura explained the findings. Unfortunately, he had internal bleeding and having difficulty breathing. She explained all the options, answered all questions and they were all compassionate to my needs and the needs of Titan. I made the decesion to let him go a painful choice but the most humane. This team deals with these situations daily but they gave me all the time I needed and gently explained the whole procedure while I sat with my "companion" of 9 yrs until he was at peace. If you ever find yourself in a sudden similar situation I highly recommend the care and service that they provide. Thank you Dr.Laura and staff. Sincerely J Burruus and Titan ????

We had to take our 13yr old yellow lab (Chase) to Jersey Shore Veterinarian Emergency Hospital suddenly last weekend due to him being unable to sit-up or walk. We understood he was failing and probably not much for a veterinarian to do so we were prepared for the worst. Dr. Fenwick agreed there wasn’t much he could do so we decided to have him peacefully put to sleep. Myself and my two adult kids stayed with Chase during the procedure. Everyone there was so respectful, sympathetic and caring it really helped us get through this difficult time. Special thanks to everyone there (Sophia, Jeanette, Abby, Jordan, Savannah and Dr. Fenwick). Sophia, our tech, was especially kind. She came out to check on Chase in the car while we were waiting to be seen and she was respectful and caring throughout it all.

My dog died about 4 hours after leaving. The vet clearly could tell my dog was dying and instead the vet said she ate something she shouldn’t have, when it was her heart failure and they gave her iv fluids, lasix and a nausea shot..she died once we got home!!!! $350 for her to die..She was my entire life i had her for 15 years!! Maybe he was trying to help I have no idea but I think he knew she was dying bc she had liquid pouring from her butt. My heart is broken????????

My 10 year old Yorkie started struggling to breathe and was panting profusely. He has an underlying conditions that would cause heavy panting (Cushing’s Disease) so I tried to get him some exercise and walked him on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. When we got in the car his breathing sounded like goose honking and he was salivating terribly. I poured water on him and tried to get him to drink water but he wouldn’t. I rushed him to a local Emergency Vet and they treated him with a sedative shot, prescribed some additional medication and released him. The vet said he should be better in an hour. We went to my parents in Toms Rivet and Dolce, my Yorkie digressed. His breathing got worse, he was anxious, and his stomach was moving rapidly. My amazing Father found Jersey Shore Emergency Vet, called them and from the moment Jeanette picked up the phone things couldn’t have gone better. She calmly explained where they were, about 10 minutes from my parents house. We rushed Dolce in the car and on the way there, he started struggling to breathe more. His.tongue was turning blue and he essentially couldn’t get air. God Bless Mary at the front desk that realized the urgency of the situation and from the minute we walked through the door they rushed him into an oxygen kennel without even asking 1 question. After they medically responded so Dolce was more stable, Mary took her time and assisted me filling out the information data. Furthermore, the compassion and understanding was unprecedented, Rose, the extremely understating technician came up to let me know Dolce’s tongue was pink again and he wasn’t out of the woods however, doing better, She proceeded to get a full medical history and also made me feel hopeful. While waiting, Mike another caring, kind technician took pictures of Dolce while receiving oxygen to calm me. Finally Dr Fenwick came into the waiting room and gave me a detailed description of what was going on and how they were going to treat Dolce’s condition. He was so patient with me and knowledgeable, I can’t even put into words my gratefulness. They sent my Dad and me home while they continued oxygen treatment, x-rays and taking care of the situation for a few hours. Dr Fenwick personally called me at 11:30 to come pick up Dolce and when I arrived everyone was so genuinely happy that Dolce pulled through. He was experiencing a collapsing tracheae and saved my baby’s life. The care, compassion, humanity and every single person went above and beyond. I can’t even express my sincere thankfulness for everyone at Jersey Shore Emergency Vet, it was a game changer in my Dolce’s outcome.

Amazing place. My dog had a relapse of lyme's (which I did not know at the time). Doctor Fenwick diagnosed her right away and gave us appropriate meds and my dog is back on track. We were in and out within an hour too. Cannot say enough good things!

Our Westie of 16 years suddenly passed while we were on vacation in the area. It was after 10 PM and we were in our RV. I called Jersey Shore and they said they could take her and have her cremated for us. Upon arrival, the compassion was extremely evident. They were respectful and accommodating during a dreadful loss to our family. A few days later, we returned to our home in Alabama and had a sympathy card from the clinic waiting for us. 9 days after we dropped her off, we received her cremated remains. The compassion of the staff is enough to recommend this place. Thanks Jersey Shore!
