Although I was not in the building with them, the vets were very calming and polite to my mom who was worried sick about our dog. They helped give him fluids and checked him out all while keeping my mom calm and collected. (our dog is like her baby lol). Great job to all of them ????

I brought my cat in for a follow up to an eye problem. Dr Slade said he was fine, except he wasn’t. Went back 10 days later just to put him on more antibiotics. Brought the same cat in because of a mouth problem. He didn’t want to eat because he was clearly in pain when he was trying to eat. Dr Slade said he had no mouth problem and took blood work. 5 days later, no results. Call them up looking for results, they were in but the doctor wasn’t. Told me to wait until the following day… I wouldn’t. He had a high white blood cell count and they asked me to wait another day. 3 weeks after the same cat has a major episode. Rush him to an emergency vet where his mouth has ulcers (which were missed) and his brain has been swelling. He almost died. I will never go back to this place nor will I recommend. The disappointment in Dr Slade is staggering.

Very average vet. The staff is friendly enough however, the doctor lacks social skills & compassion (I don’t want to sound mean, just stating my opinion). I was very worried about problems my 1 year puppy was having and after going to another vet for a second look, turns out he was somewhat misdiagnosed and given unnecessary strong meds by edgebrook. Also doesn’t help that pet parents are still not allowed in the building.

This place is not a place where I will bring my pet to .all they want is your money . Never heard of a Dr refusing to refill a medication to a cat who has been on it her entire life. Being busy and not able to fit a vet visite in my week schedule the unprofessional stuff wouldn’t accommodate me with some medication till following week to see the vet. My cat will seize if she misses a dose and right now I have none for her . Won’t recommend such a place who have no empathy or understanding to any situation you might be encountering I will rate this place -5

Sat in car for 50 minutes over my appointment time without an update . Can understand if it’s people waiting for an appointment but we have animals that don’t want to go to the vet sitting in a car. Really unprofessional.

I brought my dog who was having difficulty breathing I brought my dig as an emergency and I waited over 2 hours and the Doctor asked me what I wanted to do go the dog instead of suggesting, they gave me anti inflammatory and did blood work and X-ray that was my suggestion, very rough, went home on an anti inflammatory, the next day she wasn’t doing any better her breathing was worse said she as in heart failure I had to put her to sleep, the vet who came in to euthanize my baby was kind and sympathetic I would not go there ever sgain

As of December 2020: regular checkup, shot, and fecal test for cat cost $70 each. I haven't tried their wellness plan. Due to COVID-19 I can't be present inside the facility, which sucks because I can't see what they do and 5 minutes later I got charged hundred bucks. Staff and doctors seemed nice though, and actually refunded me over a dispute. My cat is healthy overall so it's easy for me to find them overpriced and it's hard to tell if they are truly excellent.

I’ve been bringing my dog here since he was just a baby! The vets are so amazing and so is the staff . I had an emergency and they let me bring my puppy in an hour before they closed. I was such a nervous wreck but they fit me right in without and hesitation! I love coming here and they all care for my dog so much! Highly recommend !!!!

Made appointment to take my dog in for blood work. They turned us around twice for no reason and told us they will call back to rearrange the appointment for the third time which they never called back. My dog is very aggressive so I understand but next time if you dont want to take him in DONT TAKE APPOINTMENTS or at least let us know that you are having difficult time with my dog. Very ignorant.

Had a awesome experience with these people, they took care of our pet ???????? during Covid, treating one with Bumble foot and the other with a fractured leg. Unfortunately our babies passed since they don't live long. Rest Easy my angel's. I do appreciate their help and follow up. The prices was very reasonable for exotic pets but now they don't treat Rodents anymore. Still love them and recommend them to anyone.

My cat came to this vet hospital for a second opinion from our usual vet for a cough she was experiencing. Not only did the vet make us wait 3 hours until 1pm while my cat was inside since 10:15am. The vet could not find a diagnosis even though my previous vet provided xrays and exams but insisted we have it re-done possibly to recharge us. After 3 hours, they gave her an injection which made her cough the whole carride back and the vet said the staff was to afraid as my cat was being scared. How unprofessional for a licensed group of individuals to be fearful of a small cat, that is your profession and now my cat has a worst cough. DO NOT GO HERE, UNRELIABLE AND SCARED OF CATS.

Have so much to say, I don’t even know where to begin. Decided to come here because I had a free first exam voucher. Firstly, the front desk receptionist no idea their role since owners are not allowed into the office only pets. Sharon or shannon or whatever her name is was totally rude on the phone. My first interaction with her- I called for the fourth time in the same day to speak with Dr. Slade about my new puppy’s blood work and every time she sounded like a robot and she eventually told me she will make a note for the vet to call back. Called back the next day since the day before I couldn’t get a hold of the vet and got to speak to Gary- total gem- who let me know there was a note that said the doctor called back. good to know that this sharon shannon whatever her name is lied. Gary literally went to Dr. Slade to actually let him that it was urgent and needed to speak with him and we got a call back that same day. calling to get my puppy’s second blood test results since there was something discovered in the first one and she was getting spayed shortly after. I let her know my concerns and midway through my sentence of making sure he will call back she hung up on me. I called back and she gave a lot of attitude. Given the fact that this place does not let owners in and being it is my first time here I have never seen this vet in person so had to trust him with my puppy- didn’t make such a good impression over the phone when treating her (they call you over the phone as they check your dog). Dr. Slade as a vet did not impress me hes very monotoned and just his voice seemed like he did not care about my puppy but just couldn’t wait to get his money. He didn’t listen to her lungs the first time or check her ears the first time I brought her there- honestly don’t think he even checked her but just prescribed her medicine based on what I described I saw in my puppy at home. After reading other comments I agree with the fact that this place is highly overpriced and on the incompetent side. I find it bizarre that you don’t let new patients meet the first time to see who is working with their pets and after letting them know I’m a first time dog owner and voicing my concerns about my puppy- still getting a blank reaction.

We have been using Edgebrook for about 4 years now, they have been nothing less than incredible when dealing with our pets. The staff are always helpful in making appointments, even on short notice and manage to get us in to see a dr. The vet techs are always very professional and friendly. The Doctors, Slade and Otto, have been accurate in their assessments and able to get the proper treatment started quickly. Dr. Slade performed an amazing job on our dog's surgeries, from his tooth extractions to the ACL surgery He is always very knowledgeable and compassionate when handling our dogs. On a recent visit Dr. Otto recognized the dire condition of our dog and offered suggestions of where we should go and what to expect. He made sure the emergency hospital had all of his records and xrays before I arrived so treatment could be started immediately upon our arrival. His actions saved precious time that allowed us the opportunity to properly say goodbye to our little boy. We are very picky about where we take our pets for treatment; actions like described above let us know we are in the right place.

Great service, great with my dog when he was sick,, and great compassion when I had to put him down. I will definitely use them for my new puppy!

These two doctors are so compassionate -- with animals and humans. We were facing a very, very pricy surgery for our cat who was going to die without it. They found a way to make it less pricey (including getting an ultrasound done pro bono) and gave us a payment plan -- the two installment payment plan would not have worked for us so they even made life easier by making a monthly plan which we could stick to. They were so kind to our cat. Since then we swtiched over our dog to this practice too and I don't think I"ll ever regret it.....even with a 20 min. drive (at least) and so many others that are closer to our house. I think they are the best vets ever -- and I've dealt with many of them.

I took my dog here for his shots. He has tiny vains so I assumed they had trouble taking his blood. After his heart worm test my Pomeranian who used to be so friendly and loved strangers is petrified of strangers and animal hospitals.

We discovered Edgebrook accidentally when our regular exotic vet moved around 2 years ago. Every staff member I've met is wonderful, professional and kind. We often can schedule sick visits for the same day with a thorough and empathetic vet (usually Dr. Otto) and are seen with minimal wait times. We've only experienced excellent care for our pets at reasonable prices. Would recommend 10x over!

This hospital misdiagnosed our pet which ended up costing us a lot of money for nothing. Our poor animal was put on medication that she did not need. We contacted them regarding a euthanasia procedure and the final cost was 4x the cost of another animal hospital. This place is nothing more than a money grab with incompetent doctors who are doing nothing more than lining their pockets.

Dr. Slade performed a spay surgery on my pregnant rabbit who was unable to give birth because the baby was too big. Long story short, he saved her life and I will be forever thankful to the kind and generous service that I received. Thank you so much Edgebrook Animal Hospital for saving my bunny. I’ll definitely be coming back with all of my rabbits!
