Barks Bed & Biscuit Denville, New Jersey

We used Barks as a super last minute boarding service. My main goal was to find a place that had someone on site with the dogs. This place does exactly that. When I explained that our dog suffers from separation anxiety, they assured me that if she had a rough night, they would personally go in and check on her. I was also able to see her on the cameras and watch her play with other dogs. They answered my emails while away and help put my mind at ease. Upon pickup, they called me to warn me she couldn’t receive a bath because their pipes were frozen (ours were too) yet they still tried to clean her. She was safe and well taken care of which honestly was such a relief for us. Thank you guys for everything! Penny is a happy babe!

We received recommendations for this place and expected good service. However, when we picked up our dog we found that his elbows were bloody and there were feces along his back legs. It appears he was inside sleeping for an extended period of time and/or wasn’t taken for a walk throughout his stay. Wouldn’t recommend this place for older dogs.

the staff are friendly and caring. you feel comfortable as soon as u go through the door. it is very clean and doesn't have a dog odor. we had 2 dogs groomed this week and they came out beautiful. the groomer is excellent and priced very reasonable.

We reached out on super short notice and miraculously they had availability. They were attentive to our pet's needs and she came out super happy. Will definitely go back again!

Meg and her team do a great job with my dog Charlie. He's been there multiple times for daycare and overnight with no complaints.

We had a great experience at Barks, Bed and Biscuit. Our doodle Milo went for daycare and had fun there for an afternoon to just get acclimated to the facilty. He then was there a few days later for 3 nights while we were away for the wknd. Meg and the team were very friendly, professional, and answered all my questions. We were happy to see Milo on camera when we wished on the doggie cams. He was given an exit bath before we picked him up which is an option if you want to add at the end of their stay. He was happy and healthy when we got home. I think the prices are very fair, the facility is well kept and the people who work there keep the dogs happy and well taken care of. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back for future daycare visits and boarding!

My puppy loves going here for daycare. He’s very excited when he sees the place and can’t wait to see his friends. The staff are very friendly and you know that they love what they do and can sense they care our pets. He has his own kennel which gives him the opportunity to have some quiet and alone time and not highly stimulated throughout the day. He’s afforded play time numerous times a day with other dogs his size to burn off some energy. He’s certainly pooped when he gets home.

We have used Barks Bed and Biscuit each time we went away and our beloved dog always received such excellent care. Love that we could peek in on her any time through the camera. We saw the staff spending time and petting her, and then saw her in the playroom with the other dogs. The staff is wonderful and listens to your requests! Highly recommend if you are looking for a place for your dog to stay, BB&B is the place :) to call!

We have been using Barks for our two dogs whenever we are out of town and they have always treated them great. The staff is very friendly, knowledgable, and accommodating. The doggie cams are also very reassuring that your furry family members are getting the best care possible!

I have boarded 2 of my dogs at Barks this year. The first time was for a family vacation this summer where my dogs stayed there for about 9 days. I was VERY nervous about leaving them for that long and this being not only my first time using a "dog hotel" but their first time being away from home. Needless to say, when I got there to drop them off, I immediately felt welcomed and was reassured they would be safe and could check up on them through their live Webcam. They asked very important questions about my dogs which I also liked. Being able to see them while I was away definitely put me at ease. I just used Barks again about a week ago for an overnight stay and was even more impressed that they remembered our dogs! (Not sure if that's a good or bad thing lol) I would 100% recommend Barks Bed & Biscuit to anyone that is looking for a safe, clean and caring facility to leave their fur babies with. The staff at Barks are amazing and I hope we can keep the business going because I wouldn't want to leave my pups anywhere else!

It was Kermit’s first time at a kennel. He was afraid at first but Barks made him comfortable and took good care of him. The pup cameras helped us not be worried too!

I have brought my dog, Jackson, many times to Barks for boarding and I have had him there for day care, also. Meg and her staff are very friendly and helpful. I know I can go away and leave Jackson there and he will be taken care of. He smells so nice after he has had a bath!

My little guy has been through a lot in his life and leaving him to be boarded while we went on vacation definitely was not taken lightly. I was very impressed with Barks Bed & Biscuit from the beginning. I had called to ask if I can come see the place and was told anytime would be fine (except super busy weekends) and that calling first was unnecessary. Loved that!! While my boy was there, I was able to see him on camera in his kennel as well as in the play area. When I called to check on him, it was wonderful to speak with the owner and to feel that she knew my dog and that everyone was doing their best to take care of him which included giving him medication. When we picked up my dog, he was happy and healthy which is really the bottom line of boarding!!!!! I would definitely recommend Barks Bed & Biscuit!!!

The staff were absolutely WONDERFUL with our dog! He is not used to boarding, and we planned a week long vacation.. our other dog suddenly and unexpectedly passed away just days before our trip. I was really worried about how our dog works handle the boarding especially after losing his "brother" but the staff were so good at checking on him, making sure he got to play, filling me in on his days, and allowing visitors. It made all the difference for us! Will definitely use Barks Bed & Biscuit again.

Never have to worry about leaving my dog (my baby) . I love the cameras. He loves play time .

We appreciate the great job the professional staff does, carrying for Huck. It’s especially nice to check in with him via webcams during his visits to @barkbedandbiscuit. Also great to see he gets playtime in a large area and not just sitting in his suite during his stay.

I recently boarded my dog Clover here for a weeks stay and to my surprise I got a call 2 days into my trip saying she was having a hard time adjusting. BB&B was very good about answering my questions, offering pictures of her nose that she rubbed against the cage a little too much and were so sweet to my girl during her stay. Needless to say, meds worked and she had a decent stay considering. I really appreciated their honesty with me and the CAMERAS!!! Life changing. Being able to see her during this time was so super helpful and let us have a little peace of mind so we could continue to enjoy our trip. I know if we ever needed to keep her somewhere again, we're be right back here. Thanks for a great stay guys :-) Clover appreciates all the love and help!!

Sam the manager and owner Megan are so very nice. Very clean and organized and structured for the dogs that stay for day care. Sam takes care of molly like it's her own fur baby. It's a good feeling knowing molly is so we'll taken care of . Sam is the best

These guys are simply awesome! We came from out of town for a week for football camp. Called around and everyone was either booked or not taking new pups due to covid. Found these guys, who worked quickly to make arrangements to board our furbaby for a couple of nights on the dates that we would be at the camp. (I should mention that this was maybe a week prior to our arrival in town, so we weren't even there yet and I thought they were great!) Once we got there, we explained to the staff it was our pup's first time ever being boarded or being on a road trip, so it was all new for all of us. We warned them that we didn't know what to expect from his behavior while in their care. Still, they gladly checked him and his items in, reassured us that he'll make new friends their (based on his personality right away when meeting him), and we were on our merry way. During his stay, we were able to watch him on the cameras as he stay in his assigned kennel and all! We thought it was pretty neat. To our relief, the staff said that he was no trouble at all when we picked him up. Not only were these guys able to accommodate us, they were less than 10 min. away from our hotel! They even squeezed us into their already packed schedule for additional daycare days!! The staff were all great- friendly, courteous, and super helpful to us out-of-towners! We have a pit-mix we rescued right before covid hit, that weighs over 50 lbs. That in itself intimidates a lot of folks already, but none of these guys! It may not look like a huge, fancy facility, but the care was top notch! They communicated with us well, in regards to what our pup was up to during his stays. Like what he did or how his behavior was adjusting to the new environment upon pickup when we asked. We would definitely be back next time we're around! Thanks again y'all!!!!

Pre-pay for your pet's stay, because they will charge you an additional day care charge for your last day if you pick up your pet after 1PM. If you prepay, they fibro bother adding the extra fee.

Convenient location, nice facility and staff.

Barks B&B is great. They've always accommodated my two dog-os. They've taken one to vet once while I was out of town and he had issues. No issues leaving the state and leaving them at Barks!

This place was great! Super understanding and accommodating. Was met every time with a pleasant staff.

We have boarded our dog a few times here, and he is always visible on the camera and he is well taken care of each time.

The staff here is very nice. It's a clean facility. My dog is timid and sometimes barks a lot and they are good with him.
