No one called me back.. I guess they didn't want to help train my dog.

I have a pitbull who I know is a sweet dog, but is incredibly reactive to people and other dogs and needs to be properly trained. Jim and his son were extremely patient and very good to our dog during his evaluation. He explained every step and why he was doing it. You can tell this man is very passionate about dogs, and understood my desire to keep my pup despite the work I will need to put into getting him trained. His knowledge of dog behavior and mannerisms is incredible, and he was able to tell me so much about my dog just within 5 minutes of seeing him. I came here on a recommendation and I can definitely see why. Looking forward for our private training in the future!!

The owner/trainer of this facility is not a good person. Don't take your dogs here. We were turned away at the door because our 5 mo old puppy was too big, too "dominant", and too "aggressive". Without even working with our dog, the trainer immediately said we need to get bitter apple spray and a pronged collar for him. To top it off, he said "your dog has a chemical imbalance in his brain". Incredible rude and uncalled for given that we just met him and he doesn't know us or our dog. We are now working with a trainer who took the time to meet our dog and understand him. She loves our puppy and commonly jokes about how he's so smart and sweet she wants to take him home. He's a wonderful, very trainable, very sweet boy! If you are looking for positive reinforcement training, this is not the place to go. There are better training facilities.

Absolutely the best I've seen in dog training. Huge help with our GSD's. Jim and Kayla are super nice and know what they are doing. Great facility and very clean. Highly recommend.

This place provides awesome service as well as delicious menu. The best spot around town. The food and drinks arrived quickly and the rates are fair. I recommend this place.

Best dog training facility!!! Excellent doggie daycare and kennel! Welcoming, clean, the dogs love Jim Ward and his top-notch classes and facility! My three labs have enjoyed puppy, basic, intermediate and advanced training...I think I've learned even more than my boys!

High integrity, very knowledgeable

NOT OK. I took my 7 month old Labradoodle here to gain some extra training on top of my own training only because I wanted him to learn to listen with other dogs, people and distractions around. It’s one thing to have a perfectly obidient dog at home but act crazy when he’s around guests and or other dogs. I chose Granite State Dog Training because I had friends recommend them. They must have different trainers because they had me buy a “training collar” for him and she used it on him also. Labradoodles are very docile creatures and do not need to be choked at the neck to be trained. They are very smart and only need verbal training. I had to bring my dog to the vet after going to the training classes because I thought he had kennel cough. Turns out he didn’t and he was just coughing and wheezing from the way she was training him with the collar. I have since thrown away the training collar. I didn’t finish out the classes because I didn’t want to take my dog back here. I wouldn’t recommend this training facility unless you want your dog to have throat damage and harsh training.

Puppy training to advanced by excellent caring staff. My one year old completed all sessions. Our puppy starts this month.

Best dog trainer in the area. My two unrulies are now so much better behaved and closer to us as companions. Thanks to Jim, 30 plus years as a dog trainer, training dogs for vets and all manner of family pets, hard to train dogs. Back with our two for advanced training next month!

Excellent training experience for me and my puppy. Very friendly atmosphere.

When we got our puppy he was already 6 months old and in need of correcting some of his puppy behaviors. We did the basic puppy training and immediately started seeing good results. We also used Granite State to board and do additional training with our dog while we were away on vacation. The training our dog received while we were away was amazing. We returned home to a completely changed dog and were so incredibly pleased with the results. We've continued our training and recently began e-collar training with our dog. Hugh has been great to work with and really helped us learn the ins and outs of e-collar training in a way that was very easy to understand. Definitely would recommend Granite State to anyone in the area.

My dog gets to play outside. Although he isn't fixed but he is still welcomed there.
