Great staff but receptionist is extremely rude. She lectured about our dog not having shots.. spoiler.. we were there to get our dog his shots.. tried to say our dog was older than we said.. basically said we were lieing about how old our dog was.. even though we adopted him and have paperwork saying how old he is. Just random rude snarky things to make the visit stressful when it didn't have to be. We will be returning to finish the shots but highly doubt we will be back to this vet after. Only because of her. Other staff is amazing. But if someone hates working with people.. and that's the one job they do. It makes it difficult do want to continue to visit. Never said the time of a follow up appointment, didn't mention she wrote it on receipt instead.. also didn't ask if the time she selected for us worked before making the apt. Edited from here. Cause 3 months later.. Been trying to call for a WEEK to get my dog an apt. And they will not pick up the phone or return calls. Very aggravating. Found an apt for 2 months from now at another place. Would be nice not to drive an hour to take my dog in for a check up. But I’m going to have to because this place just isn’t interested in serving the community they are in or keeping business

The staff are so nice and obviously care about your pets. Dr. Herr is wonderful! Thank you all for being there!

Couldnt get anyone on the phone they returned my call after more than 24 hrs

Took my dog in to have a lump checked out. The doc was more interested in making money than finding out what the lump was. He was JUST GOING TO REMOVE IT rather than test it. He also was talking about cleaning his teeth while he was under to remove the lump. I insisted on having it tested. He told me he would call me within two days to give me the results. It was a Friday, so I gave him an entire week. When I called to get the results, his receptionist hmm'd & haa'd and then PROMISED me a call back within 90 minutes. The call never came. I called MULTIPLE times and only got voice mail. I left a message each time, the last one being just before 5 p.m. In the last msg I told him I was going to dispute the charges for my bill, having paid by Care Credit. I started the dispute that evening. He called me back FIRST THING Saturday morning and left a msg. Then he called AGAIN that afternoon. The lump was benign.

I love Dr. HERR and his staff. They always give the best care to my babies.

We called because my dog is dying and suffering and needs to be put down. This vet told us to call back on Monday because they didn’t have time to deal with it. Seriously!! That’s ok I’ll just prolong my poor dog’s pain and suffering because they are “too busy” to deal with us. Oh they also sent us home when our cat was sick and let him die alone. This place is trash.

ALSO SOLD ONE OF MY PUREBRED PUPPIES I NEEDED TO REHOME TO ONE OF THE STAFF MEMBERS/HOMESTEAD ANIMAL HOSPITAL AND THEY NEVER FINISHED PAYING ME. PUPPY WAS PUREBRED TOY AUSTRAILIAN SHEPHERD WORTH 1500. THEY AGREED TO PURCHASE AT 500 REDUCED PRICE AS A FAVOR TO THEM AND ONLY PAID ME 200. ZERO INTEGRITY!!

I had an appointment scheduled for my dog to get neutered on June 29, 2021. I show up the morning of the appointment with a dog who hadn't had water or food since 11pm the night before and was told- oops, that days surgeries were all rescheduled. I guess they didn't make it far enough down the list to call you so it's been rescheduled for July 20, 2021. Annoyed, but still In need of neutering him. I called on MONDAY July 19th to confirm the rescheduled appointment is still on for the next day. A woman calls me on July 20 at 8:53AM acting like I'm late for the appointment. I said, um I called yesterday to confirm the appointment and no one returned my call, so I figured it wasn't going to happen again. She says our office was closed yesterday. So I said then why didn't you call me on a day that your office was open? She was rude and acted like the screw up was mine. So, I hung up. I don't normally leave bad reviews but I had to physically take a $35 cash deposit down to their office in early June to reserve my spot. I haven't received my refunded deposit. I have no desire to do a round 3 with this business. I'll take my dog to Vegas.

The staff is friendly and at difficult times they give you the time you need to let go..after that took a dog and cat in for vaccines at the same time..everything went well to my suprise..and a great value of price..compared to another well loved vet in the area. I wanted to update this Dr Herr and his staff are amazing. Recently i took our Englush Bull Mastiff in for a dental procedure. Our boy can be nippy. Some thing must have happenedat first vet office for his behavior. As at home he is a very loving dog.Everyone took their time with himl . He did have surgery. Eveything was fully explained to me before making decisions. The peocedure was actually cheeper than i expected. And we were sent home with proper meds I highly recommend this vets office

I got my female Yorkie fixed. The staff was friendly and they took good care of her.

I have been with Homestead Animal Hospital, Dr Herr is a fantastic Veterinarian. In 2006 one of my K-9's became paralyzed in her hind quarters and he took her overnight and treated her, she remained in a play pen for 6 weeks at home and today she is still thriving at 14. I have used Dr Herr for all of my animals over the years. My Yorkie K-9 male recently had an absent on his lower jaw but no problem for Dr Herr he was able to clean his teeth and do a few extractions and my Yorkie is doing great and feeling a whole lot better. I highly recommend this veterinarian Hospital to anyone wanting great care for any of there K-9 or Feline Babies !! Great Care Dr Herr

I took my cat to be shaved down. He is very unfriendly and I'm sorry about that. I have had him for about a year. For 5-6 years he had a hard life. He is 17 now, so he has to be sedated for this. No one called me to tell me he was ready, so at 5pm I went there to see. When they brought him out he looked like he was still out of it. I asked about it and was told he is fine. Then they proceeded to tell me how mean he is. I tried to explain that I understood but there was a young lady there that insisted that he was horrible. To the point of letting me know that she kicked the kennel door open with her foot. For 5 and a half hours after I got home he couldn't walk. Today he still won't come out of the closet. I called today to ask if this was normal for him to be that messed up after all this time. What I got was again how awful he is and how they had to give him extra drugs to handle him, maybe true... I feel that if you are in the business of animals then you should be able to figure out how to handle the problem ones. This is the second time I have had to have him shaved, but the first time at this place, never again!!

Referred us to a different veterinarian for our dogs surgery. They seem to take good care of our pup.

Best place I have found to take all 3 of my pets. Reasonable prices and everyone I met was very friendly.

We love the entire staff . Everyone is so nice and friendly. We never feel rushed and they take time to explain everything and find the best pricing for procedures. Poe says thank you for being so sweet to him.

Out of dire concern my dog would not live through the weekend, I went here sealing advice. Even though advertised they were open until 1230, they only had a receptionist and were CLOSED. Absolute FALSE ADVERTISING with NO HELP.

Overall I had a great experience here. They were caring, compassionate, effeciant and understanding. I called up because my mother's dog was in serious pain and needed some teeth pulled. Her pain was bad that she was beginning to get aggressive towards other pets. This place was extremely compassionate and saw her the next day even though they weren't open usually. I was impressed with the level of care my mom's dog got and how they handled the whole situation. I plan on bringing my other three dogs there. Thank you Homestead Animal Hospital for everything!
