Woman answering the phone today was so rude. I told her never mind, I'll look for an appointment elsewhere.

Unfortunately as much as i like Dr. Brinkman as a person, i feel taking my pup here was one of the worst mistakes ive done. My pup was diagnosed with glaucoma when she was 6 months old, dr told me we couldnt tell if it was primary or secondary glaucoma. However everytime they did the pressure test on her eye all of their equipment wasnt calibrated correctly and each machine would give different numbers. A month later i go in again and the machines are the exact same. For a place that charges as much as they do for the little bit of time they see my pup (3 min max) except for the first visit, they should at least make sure their equipment works properly. My pup ended up having an infection on her other eye and when i took her in, he told me it was part of the glaucoma that had spread and now its secondary glaucoma all of a sudden. I took her to the regular vet at banfield and they even gave me an ointment to cure the infection. I feel like everyone here is unfortnately very old and they do things old school or feel they dont have the right equipment to cure whats wrong with our pets. I then took my pup to another specialist for a 2nd opinion and they gave me better medicine right away said the one i was using wasnt strong enough. Now i have hope my pup will get her vision back at least in 1 of her eyes, but what i know is taking my pup to Dr brinkman declined her healing process instead of helping her get it back. If i could go back in time i would without a doubt take her to her new dr. As i said i like dr brinkman as a person but i feel he let me and my pup down.

Dr. Brinkmann and his staff have been outstanding in their care of and generosity of resources for a rescue kitten in my foster care. Sweet little Stevie Wonder (aka Sahara) we thought had permanently lost all vision in both eyes due to a severe upper respiratory infection and virus that ruptured both his eyes before being properly diagnosed by Dr. Brinkmann. Once being diagnosed, our goal was to save his eyes from having to be removed and to reduce any pain through a daily regimen of cleansing the eyes, medications and lubricants. Then, with what has seemed like a miracle, within 3-4 weeks he has gained some eyesight back in both eyes and has become a candidate for surgery to remove scar tissue to gain additional vision. There’s no sign of the original virus or infection. No sign of pain. He is a happy, energetic kitten who has integrated into my household with three other cats seamlessly. He’s fearless and gets around the house as if he has 20/20 vision!! The moral of my review is never give up hope and follow Dr. Brinkmann’s recommendations. (I’ve put the drops in 3x a day as suggested !!) Thank goodness for Dr. Brinkmann and is caring and compassionate staff who got us on the right healing track. Stevie is SO worth it!! We will be forever grateful for their help. Dr. Brinkmann is the BEST eye specialist in town!!

The doctor there was fabulous but his staff was terrible and extremely rude, downright combative, not just once but every time I went there which was a lot because I had a Shih Tzu that was going blind and I had another Shih Tzu that had to get a lens put on his eyes so I was there a lot. I drove two hours to get there can you tell me I didn’t have an appointment which the receptionist didn’t call my boyfriend the day before to remind us if we have an appointment when we get there and they want to take his eyeballs out instead of doing the other procedure this is only one incident I had with them they’re terrible

It’s difficult to put into words how amazing Dr. Brinkman and his entire staff are. Our dog actually gets excited to come to this veterinary clinic, and see his aunt Jean. To say that we feel like family when we’re here would be an understatement. Rest assured that your pet will be taken care of and treated as if they were one of Dr. Brinkman’s own when you come here.

This review is only for the receptionist who answered the phone and was extremely rude. Please contact someone to correct the information on Google instead of being nasty to possible future clients and their Fur Babies. Thank you. I called to get pricing for exam and shots for a Shih Tzu... Spoke to Karen who sounded customer service oriented until I asked for the information I needed. She immediately dropped the customer service voice and before even explaining why, abrasively stated "You need to call..." Then went on to rudely advise that I was the fourth caller today asking for the same information and that the business was actually an ophthalmology center for animals for over 26 years. She also advised "There are ALL sorts of animal hospitals. Desert Inn, Craig Rd. Why don't you call one of them?" Needless to say, since this was so disrespectfully brought to my attention, even IF my Fur Baby ever requires an ophthalmologist's services, he will NOT be placed in the care of this facility. Due to a Google error, Karen was extremely rude.

I really love Dr. B. He's very kind, and has been taking the time to answer all questions and address our pup's issue. He has let us know when we should be concerned, and what steps to take. He's also realistic, in that he isn't demanding we get X, Y, and Z test done immediately, but rather has given us a timeline as to when we should be getting various tests done. I really appreciate how genuine he is. Although we haven't been seeing him under the best set of circumstances, he's put us at ease throughout the process.

Dr. B is the best and his staff is amazing! Cora has done so well under their care!
