Go somewhere else. This business used to be reliable and fair but since my vet left and changes were made, it has gone downhill. I adopted a cat and brought him in for his initial check up and vaccines. They informed me that i needed to bring the cat back in three weeks for a booster shot. When i brought him back they wanted to do another full check up, which i didn't consent to. They still tried to charge me $85 for a full check up and a shot that took less than 5 minutes. They wouldn't work with me and the lady on the phone was very unprofessional and said "good luck" on finding another vet.

Dr. Thomi and his team have gone above and beyond for us. They have always been very kind, professional and thorough. Dr. Thomi is very knowledgeable and clearly loves what he does. He’s the only vet in this town who has been able to see and treat our guinea pigs. His team is amazing, special shout out to the receptionist antionette. They always do their best to fit us in for urgent care appts, explain everything that have found and how/why they are treating. They treated us and our sweet guinea pig, pretzel, with the upmost respect and kindness during euthanasia. So thankful to have such a great place to take our critters here in helena.

The doctor who did my dog's surgery did bother to speak with me. The cost was $200.00 more than was quoted to my wife when she called. The staff upon retrieving my bed was apathetic, indifferent. I won't be returning to their care.

Front desk staff is great. Disappointed with the vet/tech staff on more than one occasion. Have switched care to a different vet.

Currently, it's very difficult to get into any vet in town if you aren't already a client. I recently moved here from Bozeman and did not have a vet in Helena yet. My senior cat had a rough night last night and seemed to communicate to me that he was ready to transition to the afterlife. I called many places, Apex was able to squeeze me in due to a cancellation. Dr. Fuller was very understanding and caring, she spoke to my Danny and pet him the entire time. She also comforted me and let me take my time with him. I will be forever grateful at the care and compassion Apex showed to me and my companion of 17 years.

The people there are amazing and so caring. Thank you all for what you so. I was upset and they got me to calm done. It is hard when your pet is sick and these amazing people can and helped us out

We were traveling through Helena with a dog who was not feeling well and they were the only veterinarian that we contacted that was able to see our dog. They gave us great service and were able to diagnose and treat our dog who made a speedy recovery.

Spent an hour on the phone with me in an emergency without charge. When my dog passed they treated her and myself with a lot of respect and sensitivity. The vet was very compassionate when we discussed my dog's illness. Wouldn't use anyone else.

The doctors and staff took wonderful care of me and my dog. I was sent here because my normal vet couldn't fit me in when my dog got sick. Despite not being a regular, I was able to get help for Charlie and he was given the kind of attention you hope for when you are worried about a pet that is your entire world. Doctors returned phone calls, the front desk relayed messages, and the communication couldn't have been better with every single person in the building. I felt like they all had a personal investment in my dog and they truly cared about his comfort and well being. I'm very thankful they agreed to be his regular vet going forward and I'm confident he will get the best, most personalized care available; and it doesn't hurt that they were very sweet to Charlie and he loves them. Thank you VERY VERY much to everyone at Apex Animal Hospital from Charlie and I.

Great doctors and staff who provide quality care to our canine family member. They're also very accommodating for those with concerns regarding COVID-19. Our pet has been cared for here for many years and we look forward to many more.

Was able to get in for urgent care for my exotic pet the next day. Because of covid, couldn't go in, but the staff has a great system. Since I couldn't meet with the vet I had a written report. Will definitely go back.

Would never take my cat there again. I had to drop her off for “curbside” service due to covid, that’s fine. In the afternoon I received a message that she was ready to pick up, I called and asked what her diagnosis was and was told a tech would tell me when they brought her out. I called when I got there, was told I had to pay first before they would bring her out. Asked what I was paying for since it was $175 more than the estimate and I never received a phone call to approve those additional charges. They couldn’t tell me what was wrong and repeated that a tech would be out to tell me after I paid. So I obviously paid since I was there to pick her up and wanted her back. Once the tech came out, she read the discharge instructions and didn’t really know anything else. Never once did I get to speak to the vet about her condition. Once I got her home she was a zombie. It took 3 days for her to come out of her “light sedation“ that they used to draw labs and perform an X-ray. She didn’t have a major surgery. It should have only lasted about 24 hours and she clearly was over sedated.

My dog has had two knee surgeries with Dr. Thomi and he did a great job was informative and kind and the staff was wonderful! Jennifer Hill is a great physical therapist as well! If you want your pet in good hands this is the place to go! Thanks to Dr. Thomi my baby can walk and run again! Thank you! I wouldn't want my dogs in anyone else's hands.

Unfortunately, this place has really gone downhill over the last few years. When Dr. Shani Henry was there, Apex was amazing but it seems that she was the reason it was great. She has since left, and the service and care has not been the same. I have tried multiple times to give this place the benefit of the doubt when caring for my dog but am disappointed every time. It’s extremely difficult to book an appointment in a reasonable time, and because of this my dog who had a minor seasonal allergy rash had to do an “urgent care” visit which of course costs way more. I brought him in at 9am and when I called for an update at 3pm, he still had not been seen. I was constantly placed on hold. In fact, every time I call I’m placed on hold before I even get a word out. The services are ridiculously expensive for what was done. When told I would be taking my business elsewhere, Apex did not ask why or ask to make things right. They didn’t seem to care and after I’m done writing this review, I won’t care either. But I feel like my experience needs to be shared. Final words: Used to be a great place, not anymore.

We been to another vets in the area of Helena and was unhappy with the treatment to our animals. You guys are awesome! we took my sweet Pumpkin to Apex when she was extremely sick. you guys took care of her and us. you are the most caring vets when we have to make the hard decisions. when our SweetPea was sick, again they were there with us. we want to thank you guys for everything.

My dog had broken his leg, I just moved here and didn't have a vet established. Calling around frantically and other vets told me they couldn't get us in. Apex didn't hesitate. They were great from the start. My little guy ended up needing surgery to fix his leg, Dr. Thomi had his schedule rearranged for the next day to get my dogs surgery done as fast as he can. I'm very pleased and appreciate them very much.
