Dr Mattis is the best

My grandkitty had a procedure done. My son, the cat daddy, is very impressed with this veterinarian.

City Paws does amazing at making their patients comfortable. My cat was able to feel comfortable at his vet. They were also very thorough with his exam. My cat goes to his general exam each year but they have never tested his blood. City paws tested his blood and was able to let me know that my cat is FIV+. Although this is upsetting news, I’m so happy they were able to find this out for me. The vet called me and explained the diagnosis in depth which was greatly appreciated. Although there wait times for getting an appointment can be long, it’s well worth it! Staff is great, doctors are great, and the environment was comforting. 5 stars!!!

I can’t thank Dr. Mattes and her team enough for taking care of my cat. My cat needed dental work and ended up needing 9 teeth removed — Dr Mattes was communicative, thoughtful, and reassuring every step of the way despite the fact that my girl has a little bit of a difficult time at the vet. And this was our first time at City Paws! They’re extremely reasonably priced. I’ll be happy to bring my cat back here and our other pets as well from now on!

This is a knowledgeable and caring veterinary service.. they really do treat your pet as thier own. My sweet girl hesitates to go anywhere but she was so comfortable here and we will return.

I can't recommend this clinic enough! My senior cat had some dental concerns requiring surgical extraction of his teeth, and Dr. Mattes and her team made the whole experience easy and comfortable. I knew I had chosen the right veterinarian when I saw how comfortable my cat was during his initial exam. Every staff member clearly shows their passion and love for animals, and as a fellow member of the industry, I commend them for their positive attitudes, especially during the craziness of the pandemic. Thank you all for taking such good care of my boy!

Dr. Mattes and the staff at City Paws took wonderful care of my dog from the moment we walked in the door. Frankie was always skeptical about going to the vet after having ACL surgery at a young age, but they made her feel comfortable and ensured that she was happy and relaxed. When we found out that Frankie had an aggressive tumor, Dr. Mattes and Dr. DeWilde provided thorough information in a way that was simple for me to understand. They were both very responsive, supportive and accommodating throughout Frankie's treatment and at my sweet girl's end of life.

I can't say enough about what a nice group of professionals at City Paws. The doctor was very thorough in addressing all of my pets health concerns.

Dr. Mattes is the absolute best!!! After calling and researching multiple places, City Paws felt like home immediately. The staff is amazing (which is hard to find sometimes) and really takes the time to talk with you. Dr. Mattes answered all of my questions (all 8!) and never made me feel like she was rushing to move onto the next client. She took the time to explain her thoughts and concerns and I could tell my baby was in great hands. He got a new shot and they even called the next day to make sure he was feeling ok. Oli is known as the baby marshmallow monster there & I am so grateful to have found them! I trust them with my whole heart and I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and compassion. We will use Dr. Mattes for Oliver and any future dogs we have. Run (don’t walk) to make your appointment... you won’t regret it! (Photo taken after his appointment!)

Excellent people and they treated my dogs very well.

My rescue pup, Lucy, has been through a lot and was pretty scared about going to a new Vet. While Lucy was very apprehensive at first, Cegi got on Lucy’s level and immediately gained her trust with treats. The whole team realized how scared Lucy was and pivoted their approach seamlessly. Dr. Mattes even did the exam and annual shots on Lucy’s level to keep her comfortable. By the end of the appointment, Lucy had gained 2 new buddies. I’m extremely happy with how comfortable they made Lucy feel and how knowledgeable and understanding the whole team was. Also, the whole process of scheduling an appointment, providing records, checking in, and receiving a receipt online made things quick and easy.

I seriously cannot recommend this clinic more! My cat Sid developed an ear hematoma out of the blue and they were so helpful and caring at all our visits. Staff is super friendly and understanding, and the prices are totally fair, especially for the quality of service, which is superb. Definitely the most positive experience I've ever had at the vet, I'll definitely be going here for all future veterinary needs. :)

After several bad experiences at our previous vet, we finally switched our dog and two cats over to City Paws. I could not be happier! All three of my pets have had good experiences at City Paws, even our highly anxious dog. Dr. Mattes is kind, thorough and very professional. I am confident my babies are in good hands with her.

All the staff and doctor were so caring and helpful! My dog feels so much better and we are so thankful. They are also not all about making money, they actually care and your bill won't be as much as you think. THANK YOU!!

When you call him they open up your file. They a do not make the appointment according to what you need

I really don't know where to start. Bruce woke up with severe vomiting and hematochezia, and we didn't have a vet because he's never been sick, but when I called that morning and Jenny answered the phone I knew it was gonna be ok. When I called back, Jenn answered the phone and was able to pick up right where Jenny left off, she let me know Dr. Mattes would want an x-ray to start, but they were busy and I would need to drop him off. Shortly after I dropped him off Dr. Mattes calls and lets me know his symptoms aren't consistent with obstruction but he does need some blood tests, IV fluids and meds. She ran more tests and let me know a short while later he has hemorrhagic gastroenteritis and if his blood continues to stay so concentrated she would have to send him to the ER for overnight fluids. Now Bruce has a brother Clark, his womb mate, and they've never been apart in their 2 years on this planet, they even got neutered together. And Clark was just as worried as his and Bruce's humans were about Bruce, and now the humans are worried about Clark also and they just wanted Bruce to be stable enough to come home for some good rest. Several hours later, and after I know some of techs and Dr. Mattes stayed late to get Bruce stable enough to come home for the night. Then, I get there to pick him up and my bill was sooo much lower than what I know it should've been. It just made me cry all over again. We dropped Bruce off the following morning and by the time we picked him up that evening, he was his happy puppy self. 36 hours start to finish and Dr. Mattes and her staff had him happy and healthy again, and we are so grateful for them! Flash forward 4 days later Clark developed some diarrhea (and he's been on the chicken bone broth and rice diet with his brother all week) and 2 episodes of vomit in two days (and he never pukes) so I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Mattes online early Monday morning and before the office was even open she was calling to get Clark in that day. Dr. Mattes, Jenny, Jenn, Lisa and all the other techs that took care of my fur babies made them feel loved like they are at home with their humans. These people are beyond exceptional and I am beyond grateful to have found you. I totally understand why this place is always crazy busy, it's because there's an excellent team of people in there efficiently and proficiently providing exceptional care to everyone's fur babies with all the compassion and love you would hope without gouging your pocket. We'll never be able to go anywhere else. I'm so grateful for these ladies.

If you want the most caring, compassionate, accommodating, responsive and efficient veterinarian...this is your place. Dr Mattes cared for our sweet Nemo during his final moments and still cares for our old lady. She is amazing.

A very compassionate and understanding vet. They clearly care deeply about animals, but are also very understanding that for most, cost is regrettably a factor in determining the best course of care. In appears they capture this information during intake and actually act accordingly. Very pleasant to get great care, practical advice, and not feel like I am being judged as a pet owner. Highly recommend.
