We had to take our cat here after a fall a few days after Christmas. The staff were all very friendly and treated my cat nicely. He had a dislocated shoulder and his humorous was broken in 2 places. The vet techs were kind and Dr Dave (I believe his name was) explained everything amazingly. Worth the trip to have my precious cat taken care of until he can get his surgery.

I would avoid this place, specifically Marcy Diehl. Very little emotional intelligence, ethical issues at best, and you could make a case for fraud. Before she even seen my pet, she wanted a test for Parvo. Our puppy is vaccinated, vomited one time. No fever, diarrhea etc (very few parvo symptoms). Parvo test was negative, then proceeded to tell me that my dog is showing toxic symptoms of a drug ingestion/overdose. We have went from Parvo to an acute drug overdose without even asking a question...wanted to go ahead and treat her for that. When I told her that the drug ingestion wasn't possible, she scoffed at me, told me in a very condescending, irritated tone and gestures (snatching papers up, looks etc) "I do this for a living and see it every day." After I was adamant that it wasn't possible, she told me "We can do a drug screen if you really think its necessary." After being basically accused, and knowing that this wasn't possible, I felt this test (as unnecessary as it was), was now necessary to rule it out and hopefully change course of treatment.. or actually use some tests to diagnose what the issue might be. After a period of time, "Dr" Diehl, marched in and said "SOOO.. the drug screen was positive for THC" Again verrry condescending tone, and she flashed the test results in front of me... I caught the results and they were obviously NEGATIVE. 100% no doubt, negative. I confronted her and she continued down that path, telling me it was a positive test. She stormed out of the door, threw the test in the trash. I immediately grabbed it and took a picture. I will stop there.. Plenty more happened after that. From the BBB complaints and other online information, it doesn't look like it does much good to talk with the office manager "Gordon" I have plenty of undisputable documentation of her behavior, things (lies) she said and how she acted, along with photos and will be submitting everything to the State Licensing Board for review. This type of behavior needs accountability and after looking at reviews and other information online, it is definitely a trend that needs to be addressed.

I thought the people here were great. I feel like my dog receives better health care than I do LOL because I had to go to a clinic tonight for myself and I wasn't as big a priority as my dog was when we took her to this clinic on 12-27-21. Many people came in the room to help her and she wasn't even considered in emergency condition. It ended up being that she just got hurt and had a pulled muscle or something. They took x-rays and did blood work after asking me if I wanted to instead of just doing them and charging me. The vet showed me the x-rays and explained everything to me and also explained what he found out in her blood work. The gave her 3 medicines to help her pain and gave me clear instructions verbally and also had the instructions on the medicine bags too so it wasn't hard to figure out. The medicines really helped, I can see such an improvement in her already. I am glad we took her here, I think she got really good care and I would recommend them.

My senior dog Lucky had a life threatening emergency on Christmas day. All the staff we encountered were kind, knowledgeable and absolutely wonderful. I appreciated their prompt estimates of costs for treatments and allowing me to decide. I'm so thankful they were able to save my boy and I was pleasantly surprised to receive a partial refund for over payment.

Staff was rude and unprofessional. Very disrespectful to me while I was extremely worried about my dog.

My husband and I took our dog here tonight because we found a wound on our dog’s chest which turned out to be a cyst that burst and was infected. The vet drained the cyst and cleaned the area and sent us home with medication for our dog. Every staff member we encountered was very helpful and friendly.

Horrible customer service. Don't drive all the way there if you can't get there with a sick animal before 7:00am They may or may not be open.

We took our 16 year old cat here last Saturday to be cremated. The staff was so polite. It was a very positive experience given the circumstances. We were quoted 7-14 days to get his ashes back, and were called within 5. When we picked him up, the same exact service. Not only with us but observed it with other clients as well. Definitely recommend this place for emergency services. Thank you ????

Friday our senior dog developed labored breathing after having been coughing a couple of weeks. Unable to get a vet appt we drove 90 minutes to arrive at the Emergency Clinic. It is an emergency room, so one will experience a wait and patients are triaged—bleeding wounds and critical cases will get treated first. Our dog and ourselves were treated very compassionately. Bloodwork and xrays were taken. Everything pointed to pneumonia and we agreed on a plan of treatment, paid the deposit, and headed for home to return for our baby in the morning. We had nearly returned home when we got a call. After prepping and initiating the procedure it turned out to have been a bleeding tumor that was suffocating her. We asked if we could come back and were told yes and that that they would do whatever they could to keep here there for us to say goodbye. We turned around and drove nearly 90 minutes back, where they brought her to us, gave us time with her, and then the vet very graciously and compassionately put her to sleep. We were given time with her after she was gone and then given options (we chose cremation and to pick up the ashes). We actually got some of our deposit back after all was said and done. Although this was not the outcome we wanted at all, we would highly recommend this emergency clinic, basically a veterinary ER. Thank you for taking such loving care of our dog and us.

They took really great care of my dog. Even during a busy holiday weekend we were able to get out of there within 3 hours. Staff is incredibly nice.

I have been here twice. Both times was due to a transfer from my regular vet so my precious kitty could have overnight care and monitoring. They are fantastic! You can call at anytime for an update. I’m glad we have this facility in Springfield. They are, literally, lifesavers!❤️

I was pretty disappointed with the care my dog was given and the treatment I received. The techs were all friendly and helpful, but the Dr. Diehl was unfriendly, condescending, and impatient. She did not fully explain why she was recommending treatments or what they would entail. She did not seem to care about the main reason for our visit and seemed to just take a one size fits all approach, not listening to my real concerns. When I asked her how long x-rays take, she impatiently told me there was no way to give me an estimate, which is really unhelpful. I don't need promises about how long things will take, but some kind of time frame would be nice. Or at least tell me in a kind way. She was unprofessional and not very helpful. Waste of time and money.

I'm a service connected vet 100% disabled. My little dog is sick. She is everything to me. I took her this place and waited. They didn't make me wait too long. I told them what was going on and they said they would be back with a what I need to do. They came back with me with a $450 estimate. I told them I didn't have the money and I couldn't really afford it. They basically said okay and left the room. And they charged me $95 anyway. Didn't give me her temperature to know if she was okay with temperature. I figured for $95 I would have got something more than just a shuffle out the door. The girl was nice the lady was snarky and when I told her I couldn't , and started slapping things around for me to sign my stuff and everything. The place has terrible communication you know they just don't care. I honorably fought for my country and then I get treated like this it's sad.

Got us right in for our dog who cut himself severely on his side and got him on pain meds instantly. They had to keep him over night because they didn't want us waiting until 3 or 4 am for his surgery. Ended up not costing as much as we were worried about either.

Brought my 3 year old dog in with symptoms at 4:30am from an hour and a half away. I was able to get right in as no other patients were there. My dog has high anxiety and would not let the vet examine her so I suggested a light sedation. I also HAD to tell them to take her to the back on a lead instead of trying to carry her. Once they were in the back, they gave her ANOTHER sedative (more on this later). The doc finally got results and reported to me at 7am - Pyometra "early stages" THEN said if I did not have her spayed by the end of the day, she could die - BUT it was "too close" to closing for them to do it. They suggested "showing up at her regular vet and demanding an immediate spay" ??? They gave me Amoxicillian and brought her back to me-- she was completely unresponsive - as if she had been anesthetized. I was mortified. I was able to talk to my regular vet, who told me the antibiotic would hold off a major uterine infection until a spay could be done and not to panic - I waited another 6 days til we could get her in to spay and during the 6 days she was just fine. Meanwhile, I did take her to another vet for IV fluids just to pull her out of sedation. When we arrived at that vet, they though she was dead, she was so drugged and it took almost 3 hours to wake her up. We were both traumatized. If they would have just lightly sedated her, gave me the antibiotic and told me she would be fine but spay as soon as I could, I would have left happy and been fine with the $600 bill -- NEVER again!

On Labor Day 2021 our Maltese developed a problem. All local vets around Joplin were closed. I called the Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Springfield and they said to bring our Maltese in. They were busy but only took about 30 minutes to work her in. The problem turned out to be a minor one and they were able to take care of the problem in about 20 minutes. They were very friendly and when asked how much we owed they said there was no charge as the problem was minor and easily repaired. We were expecting to pay an office call and a clinic charge for looking at her. They could have easily charged us $100 to $150. We were very impressed as well as with the service we received.

The absolute worst place. I will never take another animal here again. My dog was transferred here by our regular vet for supervised overnight care for Parvo. My vet had provided all supplies. (IV line was already placed, bags of fluid, nausea medication, and antibiotics). They didn’t even have to give my dog any of this, as it was all already hooked up to him. He just needed to be in a vet clinic that had staff over night. They ESTIMATED $600 for less than 8 hrs of supervision. They wanted 75% of that estimation up front. I told them that I could give them $200 now but my check wouldn’t hit my bank account until about 3 am that night. I told them I could call at 3 am and pay the rest. They said they could not do that, they needed all of the money right then. I called my regular vet and explained the situation. She also told me that the price was extreme and to get my dog and bring him back to her and she would just do the over night care. She told me to make sure I get all his supplies and to make sure they left the IV she had hooked up to him on him. This made them made I guess because after telling me that the IV would stay since he came with it they proceeded to remove his IV, refused to replace the IV and refused to give me any of his supplies that was brought with him. After looking at the “estimated price” break down, they tried to charge me for everything that was provided for him!! This place is a scam and only cares about money. On top of all of that, they have a facility cat that roams around. After this cat had been rubbing up on me, the staff members joking that he was attention seeking and allowing us to pet the cat, the doctor came out and said that the cat was suppose to be on isolation due to ear worms. 0/10 recommend this place.

I’m so grateful to see some compassion people that doesn’t look at dogs and cats as just animals, they take pride in caring for fur family babies! We were trying to rush our baby princess a hour away from this Emergency Clinic to get the care she needed, but within 45 minutes still away, our baby princess passed away. We were devastated to losing her, we called the clinic told them she didn’t make it, so sincere and offered us to bring her up there, asked if we needed a room to say our goodbyes, gave us different options, so we had her cremated. Very reasonable Wish we had an emergency care for our fur babies closer to home, she might be still with us today. Thank you everyone that helped us that terrible night it’s not an easy situation ❤️????❤️

Our kitten got attacked by a dog. And they did a great job, they got her right in and seen in a very timely manner. Got her in before even discussing payment. Which says they care about the animals they see. And they did such a great job with her.

We waited 8 hours with a sick kitty. Staff was rude and unprofessional. It was $360 for antibiotics and hydration and the cat is still sick. I had to advocate to get help and that even took 8 hours. They have no competition in town so you are forced to use them. Avoid if possible.

Brought our dog over after he threw up a huge blood clot. The Doctor that came into the examination room did not even ask questions or made contact with the dog she just went on to say we could do blood work or send him home with nausea meds. Didn’t ask basic questions about his diet or behavior prior to. She said dogs throwing up blood is normal and she sees that all the time!!!!! I’m no vet but everyone else including 3 other vets agreed is never normal for a dog to throw up blood. When questioned about never giving the dog a physical she said she had done it while we talked which is a lie cause she never moved from standing against the wall and only kneeled over once when I asked her to check out a mass on his neck which she also blew off as fat tissue. I didn’t feel as the vet had any concern for the dog or any basic people skills she was just taking the easy way out rather than trying to figure out the problem and get us out of there. If you are willing to pay that much money for your pet you should at least get the level of care and attention you are paying for!!!! Unfortunately there are no other emergency vets clinics but I will never ever bring my pets there.

If I could give zero stars I would. Took our 15 year old girl in last night thinking she had a stroke. When we walked in we were told to wait outside. And wait was what we did. Finally, after they started taking people who arrived after us, my sister went in and demanded they at least check us in. Rude man finally ce out, looked at her and when we told him she was confused and unable to walk. Begrudgingly said " I guess I'll go get the gurney". We ended up leaving with her and taking her home to make her comfortable until her normal vet can see her. I'm so upset I can't see straight.

Called to check on information for my pet during emergency. The vet on the line kept cutting me off, and seemed more concerned about closing up and going home for the day rather than offering any hope. Seems others haven't had a great experience here, don't know why I bothered. Anything for the love of an animal in my eyes, but anything for a dollar or bust in their's- first impressions last.

(I'm not going to go completely into details but) Sunday I took my sister's kitten in she was unresponsive and they told me it was low blood sugar she seemed to be doing better before we left purring responding to her name etc I FINELY got an update call at 1:30 Monday and the doctor said that she was doing fantastic that she should make a full recovery and she's good to go home she failed to tell me she had fading kitten syndrome which has a fairly low survival rate and needs veterinary care i didn't find out until RIGHT before they brought her out if they would have told me over the PHONE I wouldn't have brought her home yet they made it seem like she was perfectly fine even one of the techs seemed surprised the Dr discharged her I feel like she lied to my face to get her out the door she was dehydrated and wasn't responding quite right my primary was able to see her and they said they are extremely surprised they sent her home her health dropped just the time it took to get to my primary she did everything she could but she passed away in hour after they discharged her 2 hours after the Dr said she was doing fantastic they pretty much lied threw their teeth so please don't take your fur babies here their horrible communication took our baby away from us????????????????????????????

Their rating is 3.1 with 350 reviews after my experience with them I’m shocked that it’s above a 1. I was concerned about it being so low but I needed to have my dog seen & had been told by other vet clinics to bring her to this sorry place. I called before I took my dog in to make sure I could get my her seen. She started developing an ear infection late last night 9/10/21, (like she has 2 other times) & since it’s Saturday & I called 3 other vets that were open to get her seen, I was told they were full but I should take her to this place & get her seen before the infection gets worse. I then called and I was told they took walk-ins. After driving 1.5 hrs. was told she need to be critical & she wasn’t serious enough for them to see her and that I need to take her to be seen on Monday. More than likely she will be serious by Monday, 48 hrs later and she is getting worse. Oh, by the way she’s my service dog. If I could give them a negative 5 I would. Also if they had been busy I’d have waited. But they weren’t. I had even expected to have to wait. It was an animal ER. Serious cases get seen 1st & less serious get worked in. Very sad.

I am grateful for them getting my dog in quickly. Dr Lea and the staff were very friendly and took great care of him. Critical patients come in all through the night and I felt they surveyed situations based on severity. ER clinics can cost and can take a long time to get your pet back home. As a pet owner, my pets are worth the money and time.
