They helped me at a time didn't think I would be able to keep my cats justice and judge they came and picked them up and took them to get shots chipped and fixed they are AWSOME THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH

Even though I think they do great work in a community that needs it, our experience with Gateway was frustrating to say the least. We contacted them about adopting "Harmony" the dog about 3 weeks ago and were put in touch with her foster mom. She gave us a great rundown of her character and we were ready to adopt once we met her. That's when things went sideways. Harmony's foster mom gave us several reasons why the meet had to be delayed ( new job, Covid) until we saw a post by Gateway on Facebook saying Harmony's adoption fee would be covered by a law firm and that her foster mom was considering adopting her. My husband messaged the foster mom about it, but never heard back from her. We did hear from someone at Gateway saying they were taking Harmony back to the shelter. We waited a few days, asking for updates while waiting only to be told that the foster family wasn't giving her back and was instead going to adopt her. They said foster families are supposed to arrange a meet up within 5 days of contact from potential adopters. They were apologetic about the whole ordeal and said that foster will no longer be working with them, but we are still heartbroken. Overall, I am happy Harmony is with a loving family, but we are left disappointed with the whole experience and won't be using Gateway in the future.

Very good place for pet services, supplies, including; collars, dog food (greatly discounted)houses and hay, tie outs. Full veterinarian services, even emergencies, even with a payment plan ( if need be). Low cost spray and neuter, with nail trim, shots, and dewormer if they need it.(short wait list) Our dogs were in and done within 4 weeks of being on it. 2 in only 2 weeks! Literally everything you could want or need in one place! Also have adoption services, the employees are great, and can help with any dog/kitty issues, and have great ideas. They go above and beyond!!! Have hay, dog houses for outside pups, very low cost, again the collars, dog food, bandanas, and lots of everything for pup/kitties!!! They can help you if you get in a bind and need something for your animal, need wise. I know donations are appreciated!!!

We adopted a cute little male kitten and process was easy, foster Mom was awesome!

Used to volunteer here a lot... until I started learning about several dogs with extensive bite histories that were not being marketed as such. Fosters were told to disclose such information to potential adopters, but were never given this information, or information provided was often downplayed. This leaves fosters in uncomfortable and sometimes dangerous situations they are underprepared for. Not providing adopters with this information upfront leaves them in an uncomfortable situation where they learn of bite histories after the fact and feel pressured to keep the animal. Dogs with such dangerous histories are being marketed as sweet, dog friendly, cat friendly, and child friendly on the website... when we know those dogs are actually dog aggressive, have attacked cats, and even have a bad bite history and would simply be unsafe in such homes. It makes me sick and nervous worrying that some innocent adopter could adopt one of these dogs into their home, only to have their own pets or god forbid children attacked and hurt (or worse)... something that could be easily avoided if gateway was transparent and actually published the reports they have on their animals, instead of lying just to get the dogs adopted and make money off their adoptions. If you're thinking about adopting a dog from gateway, be weary and demand they disclose everything they know about the animal before you do so. I'd hate for a preventable tragedy to occur.

Best thing in a while to happen for St. CLAIR COUNTY

This is a great resource for animal lovers. They help so many animals.. Do you need help with feral cats they have programs for that. Need low cost Grooming, they have it. Need your pet spayed, they have low cost and free if you live in the zip code requirement. Need dog food or cat food they have it in retail store by the pound. Want to adopt or foster!!! There are so many animals that need fostered even if it's just for couple days to get them out of the shelter. Thank you GPG for all that you do!!
