Big Bend Veterinary Clinic Saint Louis, Missouri

I have been using Big Bend vet for several years. They are knowledgeable and diagnosed one of my dogs with a food allergy after two ear infections. Highly recommended.

We have always had great service for our cats and dogs here.

Im giving this three stars bcs I waited on the parking lot for a little over four hours and my pet still wasn't seen. While waiting I called another vet who had a cancellation and was able to take us in to examine and treat her. Apparently Big Bend triages animals based on their particular emergency and do not take you on a first come first served basis. Never got a chance to see a Vet here so can't give a fair rating.

Took my 9 week old golden puppy here for her first exam. The staff is incredibly passionate about their work and made sure my puppy was happy and distracted while they performed their examination. The doctor was cheerful and knowledgeable, answering all my questions and never making me feel uninformed and silly. He even taught me a new game to play with my dog to keep her happy and mentally sharp! I could not be happier with my choice of vet and anyone reading this should take their pet here for any and every veterinary need they have!

Dr.Hooks and his staff are wonderful great place.

They were able to squeeze us in because our cats flea treatment was long overdue and we had seen a few. Everyone was thoughtful and helpful.

I brought my foster pup here when he hurt his leg and needed to be seen after I took him to a emergency clinic. They were SO caring at Big Bend Vet Clinic!! They really calmed my fears and they took their time with my giant fur baby and explained to me what was going on with his leg and how to help him. The Vet and Vet Techs were fantastic!! After their wonderful care my baby is healing and his leg is so much better!

My Chihuahua had to have a couple teeth pulled. When Dr Hook performed my dog’s dental, he caused her to bleed so profusely that he had to quickly suture her up before he could remove the roots. Leaving the roots can cause a life threatening infection. I was informed I would have to pay for another surgery to have the roots removed so I decided to take my dog to a more competent veterinarian. BTW, the staff is rude and short on patience.

I would recommend this place to anyone with a pet. The Vet took the time to speak with me for 15 minutes to answer any questions I had about my puppy. They not only remember us when we come in, but genuinely love and care for our dog. They always go the extra mile to make sure she's doing okay and that we're happy.The workers up front are kind and helpful, and always have wonderful service. My favorite vet I have ever been to!!

They have been great for our pup Seamus, and also really incredible for my friend's guinea pigs. Large or small, it seems Big Bend Vet does most if not all!

Myself and my dogs love this place. The staff and vet are super friendly and great with my dogs. I usually get my prescriptions online because it's just hard to beat an online pharmacy's pricing.

Dr. Hooks is a fantastic vet. I’ve taken my dogs to him the last 8 years. He is thorough, sweet to the dogs, and you can tell he really cares. I will be sad when he retires.

Dr. Hooks and the entire staff are friendly, professional and compassionate caregivers to all of the animals who visit them. My sweet but high-maintenance dog had lifelong anxiety issues at the vet and became unglued just walking in the door. Even though it always took two or three people in the "special room" to do even the most basic exam or procedure to her, they were always patient and thorough with her and with me. The care they gave her was excellent and they genuinely liked my little beast until the end.

The lady who answered the phone didn’t have good listening skills. I called in FIRST mentioning that this is my first kitten so I’m not sure if I should be concerned. Then I told her that PetSmart told me she had a hernia...what should I do? She kept trying to tell me that “it could be a suture from her getting spayed, but with out seeing it I wouldn’t know, but we wouldn’t to let it go unseen” I said “okay. That’s why I’m calling.” She says “ “well I’m going to tell you now that we are book out at least 2 1/2 weeks” I replied “Ok!” She said “Ok, have a good day” and hung up! ???? She was clearly in a rush but what type of service is that?! Find someone else with better customer service and LISTENING skills to take calls.

We had an emergency, and they worked with us and managed to fit us in same day. They were fast, compassionate, and caring towards both my 13 year old puppy and me.

They are a great vet! I've taken 4 pets there over the years, and they've taken care of every one of them as well as I could ever have asked them to.

They are very sweet and kind to my dog. With social distancing measures, I wasn't able to get the full experience. But, they were informative and made sure I was updated along the process. My dog came back happy and all was well.

I did my research before getting my dog fixed and after calling around, Big Bend Veterinary Clinic's prices were very reasonable relative to some other quotes, staff was GREAT, and everything went smoothly! I took her back for dog grooming and everyone was friendly and my dog looks great!
