I was here visiting family and my fur baby had a boo-boo on her foot that needed to be seen right away. This was the only place I could find that accepted walk-ins. The business was nice and clean and the vet was great! He was sincere, honest and he saw immediately what the problem was and took care of it. I would definitely recommend.

The staff was absolutely stunning!! The veterinarian was witty and funny and very down to earth. He helped me understand all of the issues with my dog and what to do. He laid out a plan and made sure I had no questions about what was expected of me. I liked how he was upfront and to the point. His bedside manner was above par.

Dr. Potter is fantastic! He was very gentle with our girl and is very knowledgeable! We just moved to the area and our dog got pretty sick for a few days so we called around to a few vets. Heartland vet was able to get us in within a couple hours and the cost was extremely reasonable.

Horrible place of business. I’m new to Paducah and since I’m not using him for normal vet services yet, he will not board my professionally trained dog. He does not have an answer after I ask how he is suppose to get my business when my dogs annual appointment is coming if he won’t do something as simple as bird him? Once I start to ask questions, his assistant says there is nothing else he can do for me and hangs up on me. Very I’m professional!

My husband and I were in the area on a trip, so we are not local to the area. We found three stray dogs and came to Heartland because they were one of the few vets open to the public on a Saturday to see if we could get them scanned for microchips or get any information on any local resources to help these dogs and Dr. Potter was less than helpful. I was told that it was too much work to get the dogs scanned for chips to get the same info found on their tags. When I asked for any information about local humane societies he very brashly told me that they were all closed on Saturday’s. I hope he treats his actual patients better because he did not seem to care AT ALL about helping these strays. The receptionist came out after all this with a phone number to a near by humane society that was open on the weekend, so he had the information, but just didn’t want to help. This was easily the least professional experience I’ve had with any veterinarian.

This place is A1. Dr.Potter likes to laugh and cut up but, when it comes to your pet he is all business and tells you how it is. My dog is going on 16 years old and this has been his Vet since he was 9 weeks old. Average lifespan for my breed is 12 to 13 years.

Our 14 year-old Shih Tzu developed a terminal heart disease in early July of 2019. The prognosis was not good. Dr. Potter started his treatment right before we took Max to New York. He only gave us a monthly supply of his medicine at a time. He passed away April 22. He lived one year and ten months. Dr. Potter gave my sister and me a wonderful gift. There were three times that Dr. Potter brought Max back from the edge. I serve an awesome God. When he would tell us he was living on burrowed time. My answer was always give praise to God. I am positive that Jesus touched his little body and gave him a little more time. He would bite. He barked at EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING. With all of his flaws I loved him with all my ability. When we went to bed, I told him about my day and he told me about his day. We would snuggle for awhile. He would go to his blanket at the foot of the bed to sleep and I would read!!! I prayed for God to send us another one who needed us. I also ask Max to help me. We adopted King Louie on May 01. His little ears were almost totally blocked. He had to put him to sleep to get it all out! Dr. Clayton Pottet is absolutely a truly amazing man!!! We love him dearly. Dr. Potter has been taking care of our babies for 16 years!! Why? Because he is the very best vet I have ever met in my life!!!!!!! We love you Dr. Potter!!!! Betty Goolsby and Bonnie Thomas

The guy answering the phone (who might be the vet) was rude and made it very clear he had no interest in answering any questions (or the phone for that matter). After reading some other reviews this seems to be a common occurrence....a year later.....it’s still a common occurrence! He is most likely a really good veterinarian and REALLY BAD receptionist. It’s unfortunate I will never find out!

Had my husband take our dog to get his ear checked and instead of muzzling him and having the vet tech help, the vet had my husband choke our dog out until he stopped moving, while making comments like “we can beat our wives, we can beat our dogs”.
