My family had taken our past hamster and past rats to this hospital as they were the closest vet that would take exotic pets with the best reviews. It was the best decision we made regarding our animals. I’ve had to euthanize both my rat Maggie and our hamster. The staff was always so sweet about it and have sent cards; they are also so patient with giving you the time you need to say goodbyes. I recommended this place to my friends with exotic pets and have heard nothing but positive things from them.

Always helpful staff and caring to our pups needs. Kinda pricy but most vets that actually do a good job are. Wish we could always have the same vet see us but we understand that sometimes it doesn't work out.

I thought they were awesome. They took a picture of her once she got behind closed doors. It was Piper's first visit since we moved and she needed to see them. They were very professional and took care of her needs and my concerns and worries. Thanks Ladies..

We've been going here since we moved to the area in 2018. I really like the service and think the vet is very thorough with my animals - she discovered my cat had kidney disease and finally helped ease my dog's severe skin allergies. However, they are extremely expensive. I always leave with at least a $300 bill, and I feel like every visit, I am told my animal needs a test that is at least $100-$200. When the vet recommended the meds that help my dog with her itching, she didn't warn me how expensive it was. I didn't realize until I went to check out that the meds themselves were $110! We are getting a new puppy next week, and honestly, I am looking into other vet options because of how expensive this animal hospital is. Again, they do take amazing care of my animals and worked hard to figure out how to help them with the issues my adult pets have, but I can't afford a $300 vet visit every time I go!

My mom referred me to this place after a couple negative experiences at my pup's previous veterinarian. Wow, what a difference! Everyone on staff really knows what they're doing. They work together and adjust their approach to make every visit comfortable for the pet and owner. I can't thank them enough????

Good vet services. Pickup and drop off all from your car because of COVID. Good communication by phone both before and during the appointment.

They took care of my Little Boo and kept me informed throughout her procedure. They even checked on her the next couple of days to see how she was doing! I appreciate the care they showed!

Crazy expensive! The veterinarians here are great and have taken good care of my dog, but every time I take her in I hold my breath when they give me the total. We spend at least $200 each visit, sometimes almost $500 for an exam and meds when she has a bout of diarrhea. If we weren't in a good place financially I dare say we couldn't afford the place. We've easily put several thousand dollars into our dog here over the last several years. Lesson learned: the vet, like any other service, is worth shopping around for. I'm kicking myself for not having done so earlier.

I’ve taken my bunny and border collie here for over 3 years. A year and another puppy ago we moved 30 mins away and have tried 2 other vets that were closer to us ( hubby’s suggestion) I wanted to stay with OHA because everyone is amazing at their job! We recently had a crisis with one of our dogs. We tried going to the others but no luck. OAH got us in straight away and took care of our boy. He was in and out 3 times in a week. They found that he has a disease that requires shots every month. Both vets were amazing in explaining what was going on with him and what everything would cost. Both of us have been out of work for over a month at this point, due to the stay at home order. The kindness and understanding that they all showed us brought me to tears. They are amazing and will love on every pet that walks through their doors. My dogs love them too!Husband even said we aren’t going to any other vet ever!

I am so impressed with this place! It's Labor Day weekend and we had a a rough night with my daughter's bunny displaying seizure-like episodes. Our main vet was not available and it's hard to find a vet that will see a rabbit after hours or on the weekend... much less a holiday weekend, but we lucked out and found Olathe Animal hospital after calling around this morning. We had to drop her off as they were going to squeeze her in between appointments since they were fully booked today. Our rabbit was there for 3 hours and Dr. Mary Claypool called me 3 times to discuss observations/next steps, etc. While we think whatever it was may have passed and they were unable to see that anything was really wrong by this morning, Dr. Claypool was just fantastic to work with on the phone. She was warm and caring and she listened to everything... even checking her email to view a couple of videos of our rabbit's episodes. I was just so impressed with her responsiveness and care... even when it looked like our rabbit was doing fine. She didn't make me feel weird for dropping her off or anything. Great vet! I highly recommend them!

I like all the vets and techs, plus the front desk. They do keep you waiting, though. Tend to run late.

Very professional. They fit us in with a sick kitty into an already full schedule. My only complaint is they tend to suggest lots of procedures and medications so it gets pretty expensive.

Yes it was your facility fault. Because of your facility I dont have Puff anymore all I have is her ashes now. This place says that they take this very seriously but guess what I haven't heard from any from this company they have took down my post and has block me from Face Book. I just wrote the truth on what they did to my Puff. I took my bearded dragon (Puff) in on 9/25/2020 they were treating Puff for Constipation on 9/26/2020 not even 24 hours my Puff had died. There wasn't anything said that Puff was in bad condition or a chance of her dying. I called and left a message that Puff has past on Saturday 9/26 and guess what never heard from anyone at VCA and when I called back I just got excuses after excuse on why nobody called me but they had time to get a card ready to mail me. I also asking for them to email me Puff's medical records which I thought they would get them then in an hour. I called back and the receptionist told me that she couldn't email Puff's medical records until she get permission from the doctor. Then she said that she was talking to one of the tech and they told her that Puff was in really bad shape if Puff was i bad shape then why didn't the doctor do more then what she did. Why did she send her home to die. So pretty much this place took $176 and some changes and didn't tell me everything from what that tech told the receptionist and killed my Puff. Maybe if she was in that bad of condition as the tech told the receptionist maybe the doctor should have done blood work. Then that doctor had the nerves to leave a message saying that if I still had Puffs that I could bring her in and they can do an autopsy they just want my freaking money If I could I wouldn't even give this place a 1 star. I WILL NEVER REFER THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. PLEASE I BEG YOU ANIMAL LOVES PLEASE DON'T USE THIS FACILITY IF YOU REALLY LOVE YOUR PETS. I WILL NEVER BE AE TO HOLD MY PUFF ANYMORE BECAUSE OF THIS PLACE.

If you're looking for a vet in the greater Kansas City area, look no further! Cats & dogs AND exotics! Being avian, reptilian, amphibian and rodent parents is a tough road in KSC when one of your babies needs a doctor. OA has been a Heaven-sent for our family. We will ALWAYS recommend them above all others.

Love everyone at the office: Vet techs, office front personnel, and Veterinarians (especially Dr. Sund who is wonderful) who all have worked as a supportive team for my shy puppy. I cannot say enough nice things about how sweet and everyone has been. Best vet office I have ever been in. Quality is what I care about and not price of services, which I find are transparent and reasonable. I work in the healthcare field and know quality needs to have a cost to continue and provide providers with the most up-to-date resources.
