Thank you for making a stressful situation much worse. Also, why are you blasting advertisements into your customers ear while they are on hold?

Zero stars. Missed our dog’s cancer. Took months of misdiagnosed allergy treatments to finally refer to a specialist. He DIED. Never heard a word of condolence. Do not take your pet here.

Best place to take your pets! Dr. Diehl is one of the Best Vets in KC. We love him. He's very compassionate and informative. And he personally is very nice. Thanks to all the great Drs and staff at KC Vet.

I take my mice to Dr Sarah Kirkwood here and every time has been absolutely wonderful! Highly recommend her as your exotics vet - she cares a lot for the little mice just as much as any cat or dog and as a mouse mom, I really appreciate the care!

We have been coming here for our two (formerly three) cats for several years. Dr. Kirkwood has been our pets' main vet and she has been fantastic. She takes time to really connect with the animals and is willing to go the extra mile when it comes to the humans. She is caring and skilled. The other staff we have dealt with have all been excellent as well. Prices have always been reasonable and they are very responsive.

I like the vets here, but find it difficult to work with the front desk. One instance my dog had a UTI and the person on the phone said they didn’t have an appointment open for two weeks. I found it hard to believe that they didn’t have any available time for a sick pet that’s an established patient, but they told me to try another vet. I easily got in at another vet who said they always keep time slots open for sick pets. Another time, my other dog had eaten plastic and I called for advice, they told me they don’t deal with that sort of thing. After asking several times for them to get the vets opinion on if I should take him to the emergency vet, they finally did although I never got to speak to the vet directly.

I was so grateful for the veterinarians and staff at Kansas City Veterinary Care when my 4 year old pup had a slight limp and a small swelling. The vet diagnosed it as osteosarcoma and our dear pup was gone in 3 weeks. The vets were so caring and took their time explaining things. The staff took my phone calls outside of regular hours to help with pain control. It was so hard losing our boy, but everyone at the office was there for us right to the end. We are so grateful for their help through a difficult time.

Although I like the doctors here, it’s rarely a pleasant occasion at the front desk. Today I had to rush my dog over for a UTI per Dr. Melling’s request. I was just at the vet last week with him and was in the lobby area waiting. Today I ran in with my mask on to drop him off and was immediately informed that the lobby was closed and I was supposed to call in first. I was told this again as I was leaving. That I need to call when coming back. Very frustrating especially when I was so stressed about the situation.

All of the employees I spoke with were incredibly kind and willing to help. The vet I talked with thoroughly explained the problems I was concerned about and allowed me to ask all the questions I had as well. I never felt rushed or dismissed and I definitely felt like they cared about my dog’s health. I will definitely be going back!

KC vet care has been a god send for me. I'm a first time dog owner and they've helped me navigate my dog's disability. They did an excellent job with my dogs amputation, and continually do a good job with my cat/dogs routine care.

I've been visiting this vet for years now. I had pet rats for many years and had excellent experiences there. The vets are very knowledgeable about caring for exotic animals. Now that I have a cat, I've continued using this vet because it is so awesome. The prices are very reasonable and they are usually able to get you in fairly quickly.

Update! Aug '21 Once again, I walk in fearful of what's happening to my cat and walk out reassured and well served. (They also intoduced me to the magic of Churu treats to distract a nervous cat. Thanks!) I have been taking my cats to them for 30 years. They are the best! From routine care and advice to the multiple crises I have had over the years .....they have always come through. When my older cat Kiri was diagnosed with diabetes, they worked me through testing and injections and all that owning an older diabetic cat entails, even returning my frantic calls well into the evening. When Kiri died, they were so compassionate and helpful. I will never forget that.....

I love KC Vet Care. I have been going there for over 12 years. My preferred vet is Dr. Paul Diehl. He has taken care of 4 dogs for me over the years - and now that I am fostering dogs he has been wonderful in answering questions and helping with their care. He is always very patient with me and my 50 million questions. I never feel rushed or an imposition. When Dr. Diehl has not been available I have seen other vets at the clinic and have always received great care for my dogs. The clinic is not cheap but in my research, their prices seem to be in the mid-range.

At a time when all veterinary services are overwhelmed, (and surgeries are scheduled weeks or months out) this vet gave me an appointment for an emergency spay for a foster dog with only a 2 day wait. They have maintained constant contact with me since I first inquired, and took excellent care of the dog today. Thyey worked with me on her medical needs, and both the staff and the vets called mulptiple times and talked to me at length about everything, more than I ever expected. Cannot highly recommend enough.

Dr. Melling was incredibly caring and thorough in her examination of my cat, Ruby. She took the time to give recommendations on how to ease Ruby's anxieties of going to the vet how to ease her into switching to wet food. We have gone to a few different vets in different cities over the years, but Dr. Melling was the first one I felt actually listened to my concerns with Ruby's health. It's evident that she cares for each animal that comes to her and us humans are grateful!
