Great place to adopt a pet. Or retrieve a wayward lab who jumped in a car with a very kind and concerned stranger

cant thank open door enough for taking our kitty and keeping her safe until we adopted her. blossom has changed our lives for the better she’s everything to us???????? blossom is a very shy kitty and if someone comes over she runs for the hills. she was very shy at first at home too, but that’s okay bc we’re shy too???? after a while she came out of her shell and has a fiesty little personality. in the morning she’ll meow and walk on us because she wants her canned food - then she wants the door opened to look out the storm door. it’s her every morning routine. blossom hates to be picked up and if we do she’ll turn around after we put her down and gently bite as if to say “no.” so we don’t pick her up often. she may be shy and slow to open up to new people, but once she does, she is the most loving and cuddliest cat ever. she loves to lay on my boyfriend while he plays video games, and in the morning if i lift up the covers she’ll go right under and lay right up against me and will stay as long as i stay in bed. thank u open door - blossom is amazing! i recommend supporting this business

I got told today 9/25/21 that I was bieng fired for bieng “physically incapable.” When this place is a no discrimination zone. I’m extremely disappointed and upset at the fact because I Am physically disabled I was working weekends only, with 5 day schooling, and schools allmost like another job. I was working more than my mother was weekly basically. They treat there animals amazingly and there all so kind. Just maybe not work there

Open door is amazing. They have many furry buddies of all shapes , sizes, and age that need a home. Please consider adopting from them if you're looking for a new furry addition to the family.

I understand that a vetting process must be required to ensure the safety of all animals being adopted from the sanctuary. But at the same time to forcibly require a home visit in the middle of the worst pandemic that this nation has seen is incredibly idiotic and causes a lot a more problems for someone who just wants to adopt an animal for companionship

I absolutely love Open Door Animal Sanctuary. They are a no-kill animal shelter. They are very clean and the people that run it are mostly volunteers. I love the fact that when you adopt from their shelter they usually provide a bag of dog food or cat food and I received a very nice collar for my dog. Also, I really love walking through their "kitty city" and seeing all of these cats running around. No worries, as the kittens are separated from the adult cats. They will usually have a few hanging out in the office. If you ever have a problem with a pet that you have adopted, whether the pet doesn't get along with the other pets in the house for example, or if you may be going through a difficult time, for whatever reason, you can surrender the pet back to them. They will also do home visits before you adopt and they will have you fill out the necessary paper work when adopting. They are located in House Springs, or near House Springs Missouri off of a little road that is called Duda Rd. You have to keep an eye out or you could pass it very easily. They also have special programs like "Seniors for Seniors" as well as other programs. I highly recommend them if you are interested in adopting a pet.

Found a stray dog (starving, no collar and not microchipped) called many rescues, shelters and humane societies but none would take the animal for one reason or another until I contacted OPEN DOOR. I'm glad the other places didn't work out because OPEN DOOR said yes bring him to us. They were so caring to this dog and they are a no kill facility.

They have many pets to adopt and choose from they go above and beyond to help any pet in need as they taken so many different animals of all sizes and ages they have an on-call veterinarian that's always there any animal you get from them to adopt spayed neutered and up-to-date on shots and they're very reasonable with prices a lot of animals generally get dropped off and people leave as well as they go above and beyond to help any for baby and me as well as taking in and rescuing pets in need as well

Went to adopt a dog. I don't think they are too eager make that happen. I could not even see what dogs were available before being handed a clipboard full of questions I'd rather not answer to a backwoods shelter filled with people I don't know. I get they are protecting their animals but doesn't seem they are to eager going beyond that. Guess those donations won't come if shelter doesn't have bait.

My review is for the staff that I spoke with today and not the overall organization. I had called to see if they had any need for pillows, blankets, and puppy pads that I was trying to donate. I was told over the phone that they did and she gave me the hours they were open and said to come in anytime. When I showed up to donate, I walked into the office and was “greeted” with the lady behind the desk just glaring at me. No “hello, how can I help you”. I said I had pillows and blankets to donate, and she cut me off to say they weren’t needed. Another lady across the room who was talking to another gentleman, sarcastically and loudly said “wrong time of the year for that” and laughed. I ignored both and asked if they had any need for puppy pads, and again was rudely told they didn’t need any of those either. I ended up just walking out. Wouldn’t have wasted my time driving out if 1.) I knew the supplies weren’t needed and 2.) I knew the staff was going to be extremely unprofessional and rude.

Worst animal shelter ever. DO NOT adopt animals from here and ABSOLUTELY DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT surrender your animals here.

You can’t even adopt a cat without a home Visit, the people here never showed up for the home interview, after that they gave away a cat we had asked them to put on hold. They never even apologized, do yourself a favor and don’t adopt cats from here it will save you and your family a lot of heartache and headache. This place is very incompetent and unreliable and don’t treat their kitties with proper etiquette! This place sucks!!

Earthly Angels! Pets are well cared for and they ensure that they go to a good, loving home. Reasonable adoption fees.
