First time there this morning. Got there at 10 o'clock, got in a room around 11:11 and wasn't seen until 1:54. Nobody even came in to at least let me know they were running behind and that it would be a little bit and apologize. I was so close to walking out but didn't want to have to come back and wait in the afternoon. Once the doctor came in, he was very nice and professional. I feel like they need to get things done in a timely matter and check on their patients, instead of keeping them in a room waiting for 2 plus hours with no idea of how much longer it would be

We lost our Dear Lucy to a driver not paying attention to the road and this Vet was extremely professional and showed an outstanding amount of human compassion.

They saved my baby when another vet suggested putting her down. It is important to get your female dogs fixed as they get older they run the risk of bacteria infection

The staff is extremely nice. The wait was pretty long (3.5 hours) just like a regular emergency room but it is convenient.

They were compassionate and kind when I brought my sweet girl to them. They handled her remains with dignity and care.

I brought my cat here with, what I originally thought was a broken foot. I was seen within 10 minutes. When he was removed from his cage it was obvious something was very wrong. The tech stopped immediately and got the vet. Unfortunately my fur baby had had a blood clot from his heart travel to his spine and he was paralyzed from his middle to his tail and in a lot of pain. The vet was very kind in helping us understand that his future was very bleak and would be filled with pain. We made the difficult choice to ease his passing. Everyone was very helpful, kind and respectful. While it was a horrible experience it was made more bearable by everyone there. I would not hesitate to take an injured animal here anytime I had an emergency need.

This review is late but I find myself recommending others to this place. In February we decided to take our sweet Dachshund here because he had been sick. We eventually had to say our goodbyes after finding out he was dying of old age. Deciding on coming to Gulf Coast Veterinary ER was the best decision my family and I could have made. This place is customer-centric, they value all living things. Their generosity and patience allowed us to take our time and say our goodbyes. Christine is AMAZING, she was the first person we came into contact with and the last when we left without our baby. It’s not always easy making decisions when emotions are all over the place but Christine showed she understood and constantly checked on us. We weren’t her only customers that day, it was actually busy. She worked the room, attended to others while consoling us the whole time with a smile. I just want to say thank you for your kindness.

This place is going down hill. 3 hour wait for a guess. Seen the vet tech 1hr after we were in the room, then another 1hr passed tech came in for blood work and X-ray. Then finally the dr came in for less then 10 mins told me blood work was great tech reminded him of X-ray, she went and got that and it was fine. So 500.00 later and 3 hr still don’t know what is wrong. ????????????

Dr. Sutton is a dedicated veterinarian who has been there for my fur kids over the years, at any time of day or night, 365 days a year. He is a godsend to the community he serves and has a fabulous staff and facility. Thank you for being here for us Dr Sutton!

They saved my baby after she injested mushrooms from our yard. They kept me updated through the night and the bill was light-years less than what I was expecting.

I drove an hour to get there, just to be told the doc was busy and no one could see my dog with a broken leg. Was told the wait could be 30 min or 6 hours. I was told the only vet does surgeries in the mornings. I got there at 345am. I asked if a pain pill could be given to dog to ease her pain if we had to sit 5 hours and was told no, i can't do anything. The receptionist, she said was a vet tech, was the most snotty, arrogant, and rude person I have ever dealt with. She def had no empathy for a dog, much less a human. She basically got mad, rolled her eyes, and stomped off and went into the back closed and lock doors and said "have a nice day"! Needless to say, I was left standing in the lobby, no one was in the vet at all, holding my dog with her sideways and broken leg. Drove home 1 hour. I did manage to get my dogs arm back in place and now waiting for 8pm to call my real vet. What a joke this place is and if this is 24 hour emergency vet care, they need to restaff. Avoid this place like the plague!

We tried to get our beloved Sam there on time, but he passed away just as we were pulling into the parking lot. They were so kind and compassionate. We've been there several times in emergencies and are thankful for the care we have received.

The first time I had to bring my Nina in, after 3 visits to her regular vet, she was very sick with kidney failure. Her regular vet brushed it off as “pain.” The morning I brought her to the vet ER, the staff rushed out with a gurney to help get her out of my truck and brought her to the back. Dr Sutton and the rest of the staff were all fantastic. They explained everything thoroughly. She was hospitalized for a week, and they brought her back from the brink of death. Unfortunately a month later she had to go back for a reoccurrence of the same issue. Another week of hospitalization and she was great again. The doctor was always very straightforward with me and educated me thoroughly on at home care and management of her condition. The whole staff loved my Nina. I actually ended up switching her to his practice so that continuity of care would be more precise and smoother. Through his guidance and patience with teaching me about what to expect and how to make her maximize her quality of life while living with a chronic condition, we had another 5 months with our sweet girl. And when that awful day came when we knew it had come time to put her to rest, the whole staff was professional and compassionate. They made a horrible day a little more bearable, and I will be forever grateful to them for all they did for us, and for Nina. We ended swapping our other two pups to his practice as well due to our great experience with the ER.

Unfortunately, this is the only emergency animal vet in the area…They didn’t believe that my dog already had two seizures. He had his third right after the vet left the room, this one was the one that completely wiped him out. They kept him alive throughout the weekend. When my regular vet opened on Monday and I went to get my dog, they thought I was going to take him home. There was no concern nor care for what was best for my dog. No mention from staff about the reality of what was going on, just take him home and give him these pain meds. The moment my vet saw him, she told me it was time. He was suffering and he had been suffering since that third seizure on Friday night. If this place actually cared about the well-being of animals, they wouldn’t keep a suffering dog alive through the weekend to make the most profit.

⛔️DOG OWNER….. Beware of these people… Dog walked in this clinic and we walked out with our dog dead…. They were so adamant about keeping the dog for 2 days just to get money while all at the time either our dog was savable or they were just buying time while wasting ours… DESERVE A ZERO STAR
