I highly recommend Animal Advocates, and this is a tough time for me to even write a recommendation as our dog just passed last week. Dr. Bellisario, Dr. Birley, and Dr. Overla are all fantastic, and have taken care of our amazing dog Maximus from the time he was only 8 or 9 weeks old all the way thru his 11 years. The staff and doctors at Animal Advocates are always welcoming, responsive and most of all truly caring. Maximus unfortunately developed an underlying health issue about a year and a half ago, and one which could only be treated with medication. Even though it may have shaved months or even a year or two from his life, he was never uncomfortable, always happy, and well diagnosed and treated to care for his health so that he and we could enjoy each and every day with him. When it came time to make the hard choice to put him down as his quality of life truly was deteriorating, we chose to have it done at Animal Advocates rather than bring a strange vet into our home. We had done that with our previous dog, and though it was comforting being at home, it felt more comforting having this last moment be performed by, and with, people and staff who had known him. So thank you to everyone at Animal Advocates. When the time comes for us to welcome a new dog to our family, we will definitely be back.

The vets and all the staff here are so caring and friendly. They always call and follow up to see how Leroy is doing post appointment and treatment. I highly recommend!

Incredible compassionate pet care. Unfortunately, we had to have our 20 year old cat, Gus, put to sleep. While the experience was difficult, we could not have asked for a better team of caring people to support us through the process.

This place is amazing! I cannot say enough good things about the doctors and staff. They are kind compassionate upfront just down right phenomenal!

Even though they are obviously busy they were able to squeeze us in to help my cat and were very quick and efficient about the whole drop-off and pick up process. They were very good about explaining the issue and procedure they proposed. The empathy they have is obvious and they did a great job helping.

Totally trust my fur babies with them. Would not go anywhere else!

We love this office. We moved east and are now over a half hour away, which in my opinion is far, but still make the drive. We have a finicky Shiba Inu. If anyone is familiar with the Shiba breed they know they can really be a pain in situations outside of their comfort zone. She has been red stamped at vet offices for 'aggression' and it hurts my heart because she just has severe anxiety and needs an office who understands. Animal Advocates understand!!! She is treated so kindly and we have never had any issues. Even during the pandemic we needed to drop her off for dental work and they said they had no problems. It is so comforting to know they love and take care of our pets as if they're their own. Highly recommend!

We've been taking our greyhound here for almost 7 months. Dr. Overla is a very knowledgeable and kind. Prices are not bad but I don't have any other real reference point to compare. We were recommended by friends in our greyhound adoption agency and would definitely recommend Animal Advocates to anyone looking for a vet.

We have been taking our dog, Hank, here since 2014. He was already about 10 yo at the time. In the last couple of years, his health started to decline. They have always taken great care of him during routine visits and health concerns. They supported us just a week or so ago when we had to make the decision to say goodbye after 16.5 yrs. They showed compassion, understanding, care, concern, and support throughout the difficult time. All of their staff is 100% caring and lovely.

Thanks so much to Dr. Birley and Dr Overla for finding the time to do surgery on a huge Mast tumor on my dog Jasmine during this pandemic. Dr. Birley and Dr Overla saved my dogs life and I will never be more thankful for her and all of the staff there. Today makes the first walk in over 14 days for this pampered pup. Jasmine is getting older but everyday having her is a gift.

The staff are caring and wonderful people. I should also say, very patient. Being a new dog owner I have called with too many questions/concerns and they have always been helpful and kind. They really care. For example, after taking my dog to the emergency vet (horrible experience, btw); Animal Advocates of Troy found out and called me the next day to check on my puppy. The emergency vet didn't even do that and I had a $400+ bill with them. Animal Advocates of Troy was recommended to me by a family member, and I will keep recommending them others. I would give them 10 stars if it were possible. Great staff all around from reception, to vet techs, and their outstanding veterinarians. Thank you very much for professionalism and support.

I can't tell you enough how amazing these people are. The staff and Doctors are so kind and genuinely care about our fur babies and us. We have been with this practice for almost 10 years. We have said goodbye and hello to our babies with these awesome women! They rock and we are Blessed to have them care for our babies!

They seem to care about dogs. However they push way too many vaccinations. Our Yorkie was overwhelmed with shots too close together... caused brain damage.

Dr. Mergener was the sweetest vet I have ever brought my dogs to. It was my first time at this place, and I chose it because its reviews were the best in the area. And boy, did they deliver!! They definitely lived up to every positive review on this site. Dr. Mergener and the whole staff was very compassionate when my senior dog was diagnosed with cancer, and ended up needing to be euthanized. Dr. Mergener gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye, and was very gentle and kind throughout the entire process. A few days later, she and the staff mailed me a hand-written card wishing me their condolences and sympathies. They told me they would be praying for my time of healing after losing my dog, Socs. It was a wonderful experience, and I will definitely be bringing my other pets here whenever necessary.

I was sure my 13 week old puppy had a bladder infection and when I called her vet they said they couldn't get her in for a couple of days and they didn't seem concerned about her discomfort. I called Animal Advocates and they saw my pup the next morning. Sure enough she needed antibiotics and pain meds. They were kind, thorough and I am so thankful! Now I am choosing them for continuous care.

I like this vet clinic. They are very nice. There's a live in cat and that's cool. A bit pricy. But the office is clean and they are prompt and it's easy to get an appt.

Animal Advocates is the very best there is for pet care! I have had pets for years and currently have 3 and never have we received such amazing care anywhere else. It does not matter which doctor, tech or admin you speak with you get amazing attention and care. I will NEVER go anywhere else. When our cat passed away a few months ago they went above and beyond in care during and reaching out after.

Dr Overla and staff are just the best! So thorough and professional. And office is always pristine. Would not take my dog anywhere else.

The staff has taken great care of our 2 Labrador retrievers for years. We really appreciate the veterinarians, technicians and front desk staff. Great place to get good care for your pet!
