Cherryland Humane Society is a WONDERFUL place! I can only say great things about this Humane Society. Staff will always call back in a timely manner if voice-mail is left. Friendly staff that help you in ANYWAY possible. They provide you with informative information to help care for your foster/adopted pet. They also have tips on how to train your new fur baby and also provide you with behavior tips! I live in Grayling and I fostered to adopt these two beauties ( on 2 seperate occasions) from Cherryland. Cherryland is THE most helpful, caring, commited Humane Society I have ever been to. They care so much about the animals and want them to have the best life possible with their new furever home! If you're thinking about adopting, or just fostering a new kitty or puppy please, please consider Cherryland. They want what is best for you and your new addition to your home.

Cherryland is very well funded and their first priority is matching pet parents and furry companions. My husband and I adopted a cat from them and they gave me all his medical records, information about how to have a successful transition, and some special food for future feedings because my pet has special needs. They’ve been very supportive as I’ve kept in touch about his adjustment and if I didn’t live so far away I would definitely volunteer/adopt from them again. They are friendly, responsive, and informed! I would love it if all shelters had the financial support and staff that Cherryland does.

We have adopted two cats from the humane society. We could not have asked for a better experience! The staff is obviously incredibly caring and diligent with the animals, to include showing them so much love, assisting in training, and educating themselves on the animals behaviors and needs to ensure they go to the perfect family. We were able to have excellent visit sessions with both our pets before adopting them to get to know them and make sure they were the right fit. I cannot recommend this shelter and their incredible staff enough!

The staff here are amazing, they obviously care very much about the condition and happiness of the animals in the shelter and treat every one like their own fur babies!

Helpful and informative staff with a professional level of communication skills and customer service. Clean and maintained property equal to the care and attendance of the animals. You can tell the employees not only care for the well being of the animals but strive to satisfy the needs of the potential adoptees.

I adopted a kitten from Cherryland two weeks ago and it could not have gone better. The staff are SO friendly and knowledgeable and answered ALL of my questions (and I had a lot, as a new cat owner). These people really care about their animals and provide the best care possible. The adoption application is thorough and requires you bring your new pet to a vet ASAP upon adoption to ensure the animals are getting cared for properly. My kitten had all of his shots and was already neutered and microchipped when I took him home, so his first vet visit was a breeze! He only had to meet the doctor! Life with my kitten is pretty great, and if you’re even considering adopting a kitten (or any other animal), Cherryland is the place to go.

Cherryland Humane Society is wonderful! We have adopted two dogs there. The facility is always spotless and the animals receive great care. It is clear the workers give their heart to each animal that comes through the doors. The adoption process is very thorough. We appreciated that they were looking out for the animals’ best interests and ensuring we were a good match. They took the time to educate us on best practices when we got our new dog home. One of their volunteers even called several weeks after our adoptions to make sure everything was going well! We will definitely return to Cherryland if we are ever looking to add to our pack!

Tried to make a donation. Closed to the public. Just a trash bin outside to put donations in. Very insensitive. I don't want to put donations from a beloved pet into a trash can.

This place used to be really cool but now they expect you to fill out an adoption application before even meeting the animal. It's absurd! I'm all about places being restricted due to Covid-19 but the order of operations there is just bad. I work in a shelter myself and we allow people to actually set up an appointment and see the animals BEFORE they have to send in an application. I might be wrong about how they do thing there but i'm just going off of what they say on their website. This place will always hold a special place in my heart but the way there are adopting out pets right now is sad.

The best staff EVEEEEER!!!!! I'm sooooo grateful and thankful for them all. I made an appointment for a cat, to meet 2. But when I walked in...I saw Santana sitting there all pretty. I asked about her...I met her first and it was love at first sight. I learned she had been there a year, dropped off at the door and abandoned. Little did I know today that I'd literally be rescuing a gem of a cat. A total sweetheart cuddle bug. Playful. No idea how she was there a year. Anyway, I'm getting ready to pay the 90 dollar adoption fee when they tell me the adoption fee has been paid! Talk about meant to be. Wow. Just so happy right now. If you want to adopt, go here! A+ staff. What a memorable and thankful experience, I'll never forget today ????????

I found that Cherryland Humane Society follows the CDC guidelines with masks and distancing enforced. They are not closed. They just require an appointment to limit the people for safety sake.

I have volunteered at CHS for over five years and can testify that each and every animal is treated with the finest care by all staff and volunteers. Every animal has their kennel cleaned daily and they are given fresh water, food, clean litter trays (kitty’s) and enrichment to their lives (walks, pets, play, treats and lots of love and attention) by staff and trained volunteers. CHS makes a commitment to provide additional training to its staff to keep them up to date and their volunteers, as well, which makes for a educated team to minister to all who come under their care. This finely trained staff is alert to any medical needs that come up for any animals at CHS and veterinary care is provided whenever necessary. Know that any animal adopted has been lovingly cared for while waiting to find it’s forever home. P.S. We just adopted our third cat into our single cat household. We love her and give thanks to all the staff and volunteers who took care of her before we met and adopted her.

The employees and volunteers at Cherryland Humane Society are always so kind and helpful whenever I stop by. They always welcome everyone with a smile and try to accommodate you to the best of their abilities. You can tell that they care so much for these animals and only want the best for them. Which is to go to a loving family who will care for and love them unconditionally.

The Cherryland Humane Society has THE MOST kind, caring compassionate staff!! Their director, Heidi, has made CHS a blessing to all who come into their care. Keep up the great job CHS! It’s a tough job, but your community and the animals appreciate you very much❤️
