Best place to take exotic pets!

Previous comment deleted. I'm potentially having my rats neutered here. I'll post again after my boys have healed. Post surgery, my boys are doing great. Everyone at the clinic has been nice and helpful. I would go back there again. 1-17-22 We took the boys in for a wellness check. The appt went very well. The boys are healthy. The Dr and her assistant listened to our concerns about the rats itching and gave the boys some meds that will hopefully help. Overall, everyone we had interaction with was friendly and helpful. We'll continue to take the boys here for check ups and/or illness.

They were very polite over the phone. When I called to let them know I'd be a little late because we got stopped by a train, they were very calm and let me know to call when I arrived. And they called me right before they went to handle him to make sure they had all my concerns down. Right before they gave him back, they called to assure me he was perfectly healthy. I will for sure be going back to them.

The staff stretched to their limits to help make my sick baby feel better. Truly remarkable people ❤️

The staff is always kind and informative. They were able to keep my often anxious dog calm and happy-go-lucky during his appointment. When my guinea pig was sick, they fit her in asap to get her treated and feeling better. Overall, very happy with the quality of care and have nothing but good things to say about this clinic.

This is by far the best veterinary clinic I've ever been to! As an adult, I've taken animals to four different vet clinics--two in Indiana when I lived there and two in Michigan since I moved. Milwood Animal Clinic is EXCELLENT. The staff was beyond friendly, helpful, and it was great seeing an actual avian vet for my GCC, Jeffrey. Dana and Dr. Alves were amazing. I can't say enough good things. Parrot owners in the area, make this your permanent vet clinic!

The entire experience was amazing. From being kindly and professionally greeted to the calm and gentle intake to the professional and compassionate details of the prognosis and the gentle care from the Dr. and all of the staff - I wouldn't go anywhere else for my pets again! Best animal care we've ever had. It's obvious the entire staff loves what they do. Thank you Milwood Animal Clinic. You are the BEST!

Amazing staff !! Great care for my Lil ducky cheese

I formerly had this at a one star review due to having a negative experience the first time I went. Due to the health of one of the staff complicating things, I wasn’t able to go inside or get much help or information for my pets. However, the next time my family went, the staff allowed them inside, were very courteous and took incredibly good and gentle care of our dying hedgehog. While one bad experience did color my view a little, I now see I was wrong and regret posting a bad review. This is a great clinic, albeit pricey given they work with exotics, and I’d recommend it to anyone seeking good animal care especially for the end of an animal’s life. Thank you Milwood for taking care of our family and our pets!

Our community is very lucky to have Milwood Animal Clinic. I have been taking my birds and cats there for years. There are not many avian/exotic vets that are in our part of the state. Dr. Smitley, and all the other veterinarians and staff at Milwood are experienced, caring, compassionate and thorough and I trust them with my animal children. Consummate professionals and good service.

I absolutely love this vet! The staff is always super helpful and accommodating. The staff and the vets show they truly care about each of their "clients" and are willing to do whatever it takes to help the pets. I couldn't have asked for a better vet!

The staff at Milwood is amazing. Dr. Smitley is such an awesome vet. She really knows her stuff and takes great care of my girls, Lilly and Sophie. I am 100% confident in her medical opinions and treatment plans. Thank you for all that you do, Dr. Smitley! Also, the front desk staff, manager and techs are great, too.

Edit will no longer be taking my animals here after being treated poorly by staff due to having my child with me forced to leave my animal all because i had my kid. Take all of my animals here. Every person that i have encountered has been amazing. Literally the only way we can get our Belgian Malinois' nails clipped

Everyone here is extremely friendly! They also explain everything I don't quite understand in a way I understand, so I know to some extent what's going on with my snake. They are also very patient when I say I don't understand. I highly recommend!

It's the only place I know that takes birds health seriously and offers avian vets. I wish we had more out there cause it seems there are more bird owners than avian vets

Absolutely wonderful experience there. They took amazing care of my chicken, we're so affectionate and careful with my lil girl. I highly recommend this place.

Truly disappointed with the time it took for a wellness check and shots for my dog. 1 hour, 45 minutes from arrival to departure, and only 10 minutes was with the doctor.

Got my mini piggy spaced and it was a very easy experience for both us and our piggy. They were also very caring and loving towards our girl. She healed perfectly have zero complaints. We are planning on taking our new piggy there to be spayed as well
