Techs were kind and patient. Dr. McBride was rude and short. The facility has signs all over asking that "you be kind" and "treat others with respect" and I'm assuming they have those signs up to help remind you when dealing with Dr. …

Won’t even give them a star. Gave me back my bearded dragon and he was dead and they never even told me he died. Just that his heartbeat was really low. When in fact he had died! Took them over 2 hours to give him back to me when I told them I was just going to take him home? They just wanted the $100; to kill my pet AS STATED NO ONE TOLD ME HE DIED. ALL YOU HAVE DONE IS CONFIRM THAT HE WAS DEAD WHEN YOU GAVE ME MY BEARDED DRAGON BACK. BUT NO ONE TOLD ME. THE GIRL JUST HANDED HIM TO Me AND NO ONE IN YOUR FACILITY TOLD ME HE DIED THERE. THE DOCTOR CALLED ME TO SAY HE'D TAKEN A TURN FOR THE WORST AND I SAID I JUST WANTED TO TAKE HIM HOME. TOOK YOU OVER 2 HOURS TO GIVE HIM BACK TO ME AND THE GIRL JUST HANDED HIM BACK TO ME. NO ONE IN YOUR FACILITY TOLD ME HE HAD DIED. Also the doctor did not tell me he was very sick. He just said he looked fine and I ok’d him to do X-rays and give him fluids. Not 15 minutes later he called me to say he took a turn for the worst. Again no one ever told me he died what kind of people do that.

Took my dog in for an emergency, vet releases him saying he is fine, but my dog died 5 hours later. Absolute garbage facility. IF YOU LOVE YOUR ANIMALS, AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!

Amazing service, clear and timely communication/updates, despite C19 restrictions, under promised and over delivered on cost of procedure, no surprises. Thank you all.

Very considerate and understanding when we had to put a family cat down. Reasonable prices too, they didn't gouge us like some other places will. Or try to upsell you on a pet remembrance package when your heart is breaking... Just realized I never reviewed this vet. Now I wish we had recorded the name and number because we just had an emergency with our old dog and had to have her put down at a vet in Milford that employs human garbage.

To have been able to find an emergency vet during the busy holiday week that takes bunnies and was super compassionate?!?!?! I don't think I can properly articulate the amount of gratitude I have in my heart for this place right now. But do know they were wonderful not only to my bunny, but to me as well.. Thank you for everything!

My dog had a bad allergic reaction and I came here at about 130 AM. Tech Jason and Dr. McBride were up front, detailed, and descriptive over the phone, with both the procedures involved and pricing. The price was fair given the emergency circumstances. Like others have said, you do have to wait in your car and not in the lobby, but those are the times we're living in right now. I hope I never have to visit here again for an emergency, but if I do I will return here. Dog is already back on her feet and recovered thanks to AEC Novi.

My pup ate rib bones] the day after Thanksgiving. I literally called 14 vets and pet hospitals. (Only one other place could see her and quoted me a price of 750-900, just to be seen!) Everyone here was kind, helpful and supportive. They did not do excessive procedures, only what was needed. Ended up costing half the price and actually being a good experience in the end. So thankful for all the help! Would definitely recommend!!

Huge thank you to this emergency. My 6.5 month old kitten began acting strangely. He wasn't wanting to play, and began not eating. Upon examination at his primary vet we agreed surgery should be done STAT as we were suspecting an intestinal blockage. His primary doctor called this ER and discussed the urgency of Elton's case. They agreed and gave me the okay to head over there. Upon arrival they were fast to take him in. They took his pre-op X-rays and examined him. The doctor opted and agreed surgery is the best option. We admitted Elton into the hospital and I went home. They ensured me they would call when the surgery was done and he was in recovery. Within a few hours I got a call saying he was awake and in recovery. He was already trying to move around. He needed to stay overnight for hospital care, they said I will get a call between 6-7 am. 6:58 am I got a call from the Doctor informing me Elton is doing amazing and he was free to come home. He was trying to break out of cage and yelling all night. He began eating again as well! This whole scary experience was nerve wrecking but I am so thankful for the staff here. I hope to never have to go to an ER again. However, if I ever need to I'm so thankful to know I can bring my babies here and they will be in excellent care. Thank you to everyone at this hospital.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I took my cat in because I was worried he was blocked, and they had him for 5 hours and sent him home with medicine and said it was a UTI. The next day he started peeing blood and I took him into Michigan state vet hospital and they diagnosed him being blocked and had him for 4 days while they unblocked him for half the price. Novi vet hospital is very unprofessional and I would never go there again. If you truly love your pets DO NOT take them here. They just want your money and do not care.

Both of our cats got into Lily plants. My partner and I were freaking out but the staff kept us calm and treated our cats like family. Kept us updated, and did everything they could to make the process easy on us. Hope (one of the vets/employees) was knowledgeable and so sweet. We really appreciate their kindness and fast action they took to help our cats!

On Thanksgiving, my 31 year old parrot had not been acting well for a few days, so I knew I would have to take her in to the vet. All vet clinics were closed except emergency ones. Despite it being a holiday and there being a long 2-5 hour wait, the staff were friendly and understanding. They even made sure to have only female staff work on my parrot (who was abused by her previous owner who was a man), and didn’t fully sedate her when she needed bloodwork and X-rays because she was an older bird. They took wonderful care of her and understood that she needed extra attention because of her past and her age. Thank you staff of AEC Novi! I know you didn’t spend thanksgiving with your families, but you helped care for my feather family instead! I am grateful!

Cannot thank the entire treatment team enough. Our dog was in so much pain. They provided not only great care to our dog, but kept us in the loop the entire time.

I unfortunately had to put down my beautiful rat Zoso a few days ago. This business was very caring and helpful throughout the whole process. I have just received the ashes and the way they have sent everything is so nice. It’s a very hard thing to lose a pet but this emergency center eased the burden and I am so grateful to have gone here.

We have two rescue dogs, one a purebred husky with idiopathic epilepsy and one who had a heart defect and required surgery. As would be expected, both dogs have been for one reason or another in to the emergency center. I am going to dive deep into the more recent (2020 and 2021) experiences with our husky Finn... Within the last 12 days, Finn has had 6 seizures... 4 within a 19 hour window and after 12 days, 2 more within 12 hours of each other. This is critical and extremely serious to be sure the clustering of seizures halts to prevent brain damage. We have been working to control via medication for a year and a half and our neurologist is amazing. But AEC has twice within 12 days taken him under their charge and provided constant observation, IV meds and all the necessary care to help bring him out of the seizure situation. Even though short-handed... they found room for him and helped get him the medication boost he needed to recover. Everyone has been not only kind, considerate and sincerely concerned, but attentive and thoughtful of how we feel as well with our furbaby in their care. The quality of care is superior, the people dedicated to help, and the overall treatment is amazing. I cannot thank them all enough for what they have done, and want everyone to know they go out of their way even when short-staffed and packed to the gills with patients. Thank you all for care, love and devotion. Finn, Kita and us humans...

We sadly had to put our cat down in August. The vet and entire team showed us great compassion and helped us make the right decision. We were able to be with our cat as it was happening, which was important to us, as many other clinics are currently not allowing it due to Covid protocols. We did not feel rushed and we were able to say our goodbyes. We even received a hand-written card in the mail from the entire staff. Although it was a tough moment, I am glad this facility made it as easy as possible for us. Thank you from our family.

Tried calling and got hung up on twice. Did not even say hello you could hear them talking to someone else as they picked the phone up and set it back down hanging up on me.

Got my guinea pig in yesterday. Called several times to see when a good time to come in would be so I wouldn't have to wait in the car all day. The staff is amazing and helped my little one. Super happy they were able to help and communicate what was happening with her and got her meds that she needed. All the staff is super friendly.

Called on a Saturday night and the front desk was completely honest with me that they were very backed up and offered me other options or also said I could call again later. I so much appreciated that honesty. I called back in the morning and was able to get on the wait list and get him in for his front leg pain. Everybody there was so kind and they were able to get him some pain meds so he could at least relax enough to go to sleep. He was in a great deal of pain. Thank you for seeing him. Highly recommend

Far exceeded my expectations!!!. They got me in and out in 1/3 the estimated time even though they were backed up with emergency surgeries. I brought in a reptile, and they were very knowledgeable and very communicative. Super kind as well! Couldn't ask for more: thorough, educated, good communication, and good timing.

Not sure why they still have COVID protocols. It’s highly unsettling when you bring your pet in with a serious illness and you have to wait for a phone call from a rude doctor with zero bed side manner. You need to relax these COVID protocols so people can come into the facility and see their pets and receive face to face consultation.

Our 1.5 year old Aussie has had 2 seizures in the last week, both after hours. We live in Swartz Creek and both times all “emergency” vets near us have told us they can’t do anything about it, find someone else. Novi Emergency was willing to take us both times (even though we only went the second time), got us in around 11 PM, with 9 patients ahead of us, and we were back home by 2 AM with medication and peace of mind knowing there was nothing abnormal in the blood work. Thank you for your knowledgeable, patient friendly, and prompt work! Wish more emergency vets in the Flint area had your dedication to animals!

No one wants to have to put there beloved dog down, the staff was helpful and compassionate with us and our dog. Even when our dog passed away before he could get hooked up they were so kind with us and helped us through the process. Thank you.

I had two experiences with this vet. Both sadly dealing with Euthanizing a reptile. I want to add I’m very grateful for the 24 hour service. The first experience was amazing and helped with the Grieving process a lot. They took good care of my leopard geckos body, placing her in a box and added clay paw prints and a sympathy card sent to my house. Everyone was very sweet and let me know how sorry they were. The second time (a week ago) was different, I got her body back in not the best shape ( eyes open, smell of the start of decay) which could be explained by the smell of the freezer (they have to hold onto the body for 24 hours) but I was saddened by the experience. No clay paw prints like the last, no cards. But the women who handed me her was very sweet. Mixed feelings… still amazing for the service in emergency situations.

I brought my hedgehog here to have her euthanized, and they made experience as easy as they could. Josh and the other staff members were so kind, and even though I couldn't be with her in her final moments I know she was with caring people. Thank you

Our 8 year old dog collapsed on Monday August 16, 2021. We called our vet and 20 plus other vet/hospitals. Finally Animal Emergency Center in Novi agreed to see her. When we arrived in the parking lot she was in bad shape. We called and checked in, was asked to fill out an online form, and we would be texted or called when they could see her. I explained that she was not in good shape and they had us carry her right in. Within 9 minutes of arriving in the parking lot we were called by the vet with a very comprehensive explanation of her condition. There was nothing they could for her. She had cancer they had erupted and was bleeding into her abdomen. She was running around and very happy that morning. We were allowed to come in while she was euthanized. They vet and staff could not have been more compassionate! The service they use to cremate her, had her back to us within 4 days.

Over the years I have taken many animals to AEC and have always been happy with the treatment my pets have received. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and compassionate. They have a tough job full of stress and sometimes owners who are horrible to deal with and I applaud them for the job they do!
