I'm only leaving a one star because I have to. This is by far the worst vet my husband and I have had to deal with. We switched vets because we needed one that actually worked on the weekends (unlike the Red Barn). My husband is on call during the weeks and it is very hard to schedule a vet appointment without knowing his schedule. They refuse to see our dogs without paying their fee for not showing up to the previous appointment (which my husband has called every time he has had to cancel) Their professionalism is non-existent. We reached out to a new vet closer to Fowlerville and they were so incredibly sweet. They tried to get our dogs records from them, but REFUSE to give them to the new vet until we pay that fee. They clearly do not care about the well-being of your pet and it shows by their money hungry attitude. My friend took her dog there and after the first visit she refuses to take him back there because her dog was terrified after coming out of the vet (you still aren't allowed to go inside with your pet to make sure they are okay). I was hesitant to take our dogs back there after knowing that, but now I'm definitely not ever referring people to go there. Got the vet records, so have fun with your balance that will not be paid by us. Just lost 3 patients over trying to money grab. If you love your pet, DO NOT TAKE THEM TO THIS VET! There are so many other ones that are better in Livingston County.

I recently joined this vet my first experience with them was pretty good however it was during Covid so I was unable to see if they did anything that they charge me for when they brought my pets in I’m assuming they did. My current job I am on call often and explain to them it is very hard for me to make appointments during the week because there’s always a chance that I might have to go to a job I recently had to go to a job an hour before my appointment and reached out and let them now they now are saying I never called and I was a no-show so they are charging my account $25 per dog and I have three of them. They are now saying I have to pay that late fee before they reschedule me another appointment and also they will not approve a prescription I need for heart guard medicine through Chewy because they want me to pay the late fee first they are holding my dog‘s health over my head trying to get the $75 out of me. Hi plan on switching vets and my new vet tried to reach out to them and they will not send any of my pets records to the new vet until I pay the late fee they are basically holding all my pets information hostage as it’s their own just to try and get advantage of that payment when I spoke to the girl on the phone she did not even seemed to care what my excuse was and was unwilling to work with me I even offered to pay once I come in on my new appointment as I didn’t have my wallet handy and she said she will not give me a new appointment until this is taken care of very rude and unprofessional even the other vet said they’ve never heard of such a thing and asked Redbarn why they won’t release the records to me and the lady said because we’re not doing it until we get our late fee. Horrible place to work with.

First time here, very happy with the staff and Doc. You can tell they care the moment you talk to them, made me feel safe for them to care off my pup, good people. Note on entrance: watch out for potholes when entering driveway from Highland road, some of them will swallow a car tire.

Our appointments for our dogs ran smoothly and the communication with the staff was great. Things are a bit different now with not taking our pets in ourselves but it worked out great.

Ever since the first time we took our puppy to Red Barn Veterinary Medical Center, they have been nothing but caring, thorough, and kind. Whether we needed to schedule a routine check-up, or were calling about an emergency, the staff always took care of our needs and made the process as easy as possible. Needless to say, our dog gets excited when she gets to go to the vet now.

UPDATE 2021. It cost me A LOT of money because they couldn’t diagnose kennel cough.(Even after observing him at the office for the afternoon) He most likely got it there after having his teeth cleaned and a tooth removed, BUT IT DOES’NT MATTER where he got it from, they should’ve been able to diagnose it. They never called after the surgery and the desk people were really rude when I asked about the coughing that continued for to long. I took him to Lansing because I couldn’t get him in anywhere else due to COVID. They diagnosed him right away and fixed him up. I’ll be finding another Vet for sure.

Waited an hour past my appointment time in the parking just too be told they would try to fit me in tomorrow. Made it sound like they were doing me a favor to get in the next day. They’re always late, and the lady who answers the phones and takes appointments has an attitude problem. She’s downright mean.

I took my kitten there to get fixed and declawed and they did not give her antibiotics or a cone for her. They said she did not need antibiotics because their surgeons are good enough to where they didn’t need to send her home with any. When I got home with her she opened her stitches on her paws and I had to take her to an animal hospital. The animal hospital found ear mites in her ears awhile red barn had told me she didn’t have them.

Not enough good things can be said about this place. I have been to many vets after moving around, and red barn has been the best. Great prices, kind staff, and always helpful. Definitely check them out!

I recently moved to Howell and was looking for a new vet for my dogs and for one of my dogs to get neutered. I called in and the receptionist explained that he needed to be brought in for bloodwork and they normally require rabies and distemper before surgery. I said okay and made an appointment. My fiance took the dog in, and we decided since I usually vaccinate my own dogs, we would have the rabies done and do the distemper myself a few days later to not over do it. The Tech came and got my dog from the car (covid) and said nothing about next steps or shots to my fiance. He thought they were weighing him and doing the exam. Next thing you know, here comes the tech with our dog explaining how he may be sore with nausea etc. They loaded him with rabies, distemper, and LEPTO. Nothing was ever said about a lepto vaccination or combo. One of my dogs almost died from this vaccination years ago!! We were furious! I called right away and they said because of the phone conversation they thought it was agreed upon? In my 4 years working at a Veterinarian clinic, and working with various vets for the last 20 years with my own animals, I have never dealt with anything like this. Just downright uninfomative and unprofessional. After I called and stated I did not agree to the Lepto and how upset I was that nothing was discussed to my fiance, they advised they would remove it from our bill. Nope, I stilled paid for it.. and my perfectly healthy 9 month old puppy was up vomiting at 3AM.
