I have been coming here for about 20 years, with my parents and now my pets. The service used to be outstanding. But they have become so overwhelmed, that it’s an in and out. I went to another vet and they found many preventable problems That the vets here overlooked and didn’t take the time to look into.

First time there. Was referred by my other vet, because they weren't able to get me in, which I understood. I was impressed. Only took an hour from signing in to being seen. They seemed very knowledgeable and caring. I was definitely ready to wait, being it was walk in only. Prices were fare.

Got there at 2:30 pm. Checked myself and my dog in, went outside waited an hour, was then told they would be calling me in soon, people that got there after I did went in and got out and left before I did, then I had my husband call to check and they said there was 7 people ahead of me, AT 4:47pm they finally called me and my puppy in. This was a long long time after they told me they would be calling me in shortly, UNBELIEVEABLE. IF only I did not have to make an appointment for 6 months or more out I would so happily find a different veterinarian clinic.

We've been going here for over 20 years. Even when I thought I had to go somewhere else for something else, I end up back here. All the vets care for the dogs so much, and they love seeing them!

I am here all the time. Staff on 12-17-21 was horrible. All 3 front desk workers Just starred at me when I walked in. No hello or anything. The new checkout lady had an attitude as well. Never had a problem with the staff that is regularly there.

We took our cat to this animal hospital a week ago on a Friday morning because he was groaning in pain. After waiting an hour and a half in the parking lot and another half hour in the lobby we were seen. The veterinarian Dr. Shaker was polite and seemed caring, he determined my cat had a blockage and his bladder was full, and he would need a catheter put in. First off putting thing to note, the vet told me “I need you to be back here by 3:00pm because we have a Christmas party tonight”, and while I understand work isn’t everything, if you’re a veterinarian I would hope an animals health would be more important than a Christmas party. After determining the cause of my cats pain, his assistant proceeded to lift my 15 lb. cat with a rock hard bladder by the slack of his neck to place him on a blanket, because “you never say they won’t bite”. We then sat in the exam room for another 10-15 minutes before asking if we were okay to leave, I guess they forgot about us… Fast forward to 3:00, we pick up our boy, it was a costly procedure to say the least. The vet recommended we order a special food via a website in a pamphlet they provided. We got our cat home, ordered the food, and 8 hours later (around 10 pm) my cat managed to removed the catheter even with the cone on his neck like the vet recommended. At this point West Flint Animal Hospital is closed for the weekend. We called about six emergency clinics that night to get an opinion of what to do, every place was shocked he was sent home with a catheter in place and said they would NEVER do this as the cat should be monitored by a vet and hospitalized while a catheter is in place. The next day we ended up taking our cat to Wilson’s Veterinary Hospital in Washington, MI where he has been for a week recovering and cared for. Also worth mentioning, when the company we ordered the food from called West Flint AH to confirm it with the veterinarian, they denied my cat was even treated there. Another nice touch. All in all, this place did a procedure on an animal and didn’t have the slightest idea of proper recovery for said operation, then proceeded to send an animal home whom could have very well died. They denied my cat was treated there, negating the food order my cat needs, and charged me over $600 for the whole process. Thanks for making a traumatic experience even worse and charging me a ridiculous amount of money on top of it. I hope your Christmas party was great.

Yeah if anybody ever needs a veterinarian this is one of the best vets to go to all the staff treat you with respect and they treat your animal as if it's a child.

If I could give them 100 stars I would. This place is hands down the best vet I've ever visited. Professional and unbelievably kind and caring!! Stellar service and affordable prices. No B.S. care, no upselling for unneeded items, treatments etc. They just earned our business for life! We will be recommending to family and friends. Hate to keep y'all swamped but you're far too amazing to keep the secret. Dozer says thank you!!!????❤????❤????❤

Dr. Baes, Shaker and Miller and their wonderful techs all had a hand in seeing my dog "nephew", Blizzard, into the next world with compassion and dignity. They were extraordinarily patient and kind to his devastated "mom". Blessings for your kindness and expertise.

Since Covid, the phone message says that they may have reached capacity if they aren't answering the phone. You are left to wonder if you take your animal in, will they be available. They never actually answer the phone for you to know. I have a pet needing euthanasia. Arriving to find they can't take you is devastating. Their prices are really out there too.

Everywhere in the region couldn't get my jersey boy in for weeks to get his ears looked at. They do walk in basis. Got him in and out. His meds are working and he's acting happier than he's been for awhile. I had a great experience.

I’ve been going here ever since I got my Rueben which he is now 9. They are all so polite and helpful. I understand the wait times can get significantly long but I would always be willing to wait to make sure my fur babies are taken care of. Its hard working in this field right now but they are all doing it so well and very professional. I will highly recommend WFAH to anyone that is looking for a great place to take their pets!

Not quite as great as it was 10 years ago but still very caring staff very compassionate very knowledgeable however I do believe they are overloaded with their caseload and this causes them to not have the time needed for each patient individually. I feel like there needs to be a lot more personalization and it’s not possible at the volume of patients they see on a day to day basis

My 14 year old Labrador/Collie mix needed a veterinarian yesterday. West Animal Hospital and their staff welcomed us in and took good care of her. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

The office staff is extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Dr. Baes is the absolute best, and Dr. Shaker is great with small animals. Be prepared for a wait, but it's definitely well worth it.
