Bennington Hills Kennels Fenton, Michigan

We’ve brought our dogs to Bennington Hills for years. It also happens that two of our dogs were from there. Goldens are wonderful! Bennington Hills breeds incredible dogs with great care and provides excellent service for their customers.

Recently moved to the area and tried this kennel...if I could give zero stars I would!!! Just picked up my dog and he has cuts and abrasions all over all four of his legs as well as paw pads I know sometimes they get cuts and it's to be expected but not like this... not one word was said to me about anything. I took my own food because my dog has a special diet, if they fed him they did not feed him our food. His bottom was covered in diarrhea probably from the food or stress... I will not be going back and I urge everyone to do research before leaving thier pet in care. In the meantime praying my dog will be ok!

We got our Winnie here, and looooooved her. I don't know about grooming/boarding, since we've never tried either, but the goldens are amazing. We think she could be a comfort dog, if she wanted.

Everyone is so friendly and they all love dogs. Mine girl gets so excited when we pull into the drive. I get het an exit bath ...she is so fresh when I pick her up! It's the only place I will leave her.

Great place for grooming. Nice people who are serious about dogs! My dog always comes out squeaky clean and in a good mood!

Don't expect your dog to ever be walked!!! This place is the worst. Do not take your dog here. I will never be coming back to this location again. When I pull up with my dog to the kennel the dog is shaking like crazy. The dog is afraid of this place. I don't know what they do to my dog but I think they abuse him. My dog pees everywhere in the house cause of these people NEVER letting the dog out so he pees in his kennel and now thinks he can pee indoors. Avoid this place at all cost If the owner is reading the F U!!!!!

My dog was here for Memorial Day weekend and she came home covered in her urine and poop. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Bennington Kennels was an awesome experience for us when we picked up our puppy. Kris walked us through the entire process from first till the day we picked him. She kept us updated with pictures and videos from 48hrs from his birth. She kept sending us pictures on a weekly basis. They allowed us to visit whenever we requested to see the puppies. He has been very healthy and it was easy to potty train since they started doing it in the kennel. We have got good comments about his behavior and his fur, I give credit to Bennington for keeping the mom and dad healthy. We really recommend this place if someone looking for a Golden Retriever.

Great place to groom or house your pet. Very reasonable prices. They are not intimidated by large breed dogs.

Our lab Hank is always excited to see his friends and the staff at Bennington Hills. We use the daycare and are very happy!!

They do not take good care of the mother dog who breeds for them and make all the money for them. adopted a five year old golden who was bred 3 times a couple years ago, she is very sweet and loving now but could tell she was not used to humans. The playful soul of a golden is squashed as they must keep them locked up in a too small and uncomfortable area. According to my vet- she probably slept on very hard, too small of an area her first five years because she has a weakened spine and cannot stand for long periods of time. Also has suffered through having an auto immune disease that affected her brain and has forced her to be on medicine for the last year and a half. So glad I saved her from this place and she is now being spoiled but would not recommend this place anymore

My mother is thinking about boarding her 13 yo dog here, and I am telling her NO! We boarded our 5 yo dog here in 2009, we came back 10 days later to our poor sweet girl who looked like a bag of bones. I don’t think she ate the entire time she was there. The woman at the front desk said our dog kept tipping her water over, and was a messy dog. Our dog was a very calm and low energy dog, I’m thinking she was probably very stressed. What really makes me mad is that they did not call me to let me know that she was not eating. I could have had a family member come and pick her up. At any rate, when we picked her up, she looked awful, she was very sick when we got her home, and she kept going down hill from there. Every week she kept getting more and more sick, and then she died a couple months later. I thought my experience was maybe a one off, but now reading all of these horrible 1-star reviews reinforces that this place should be shut down!!! I had a couple other dogs that I took here a couple times prior to our tragic experience, and those dogs hated going here as well. I say hated because they would shake, quiver, cower and tuck their tails between their legs, upon entering the facility. That should have been the red flag!! Let it be the red flag for you.

Started at 5 stars because friends highly recommended. Lost a star for not letting my dogs have thier toys. Lost a star for not washing one of the dogs who obviously needed one.

DO NOT GET YOUR DOG GROOMED HERE. Just recently picked up my dog from a weekend stay here. He is an Australian Shepherd/Pomeranian mix who had the most beautiful coat when I dropped him off on Friday. When asked what I wanted done I told the lady that we really liked his long hair around his face, and tail, as well as his scarf area and just wanted a trim for the summer time. She told me that she could take some kind of blade to him. I should have asked how short it would've been but given that I told her we like his coat longer, I didn't think that he would be COMPLETELY SHAVED when I went to go pick him up. Besides him being completely shaven down, the lines of cuts around his ears are completely uneven as well as his paws. It seems as though there was no thought to the cut for the kind of breed that he is. I am so furious and we will never, ever be bringing him back here again. Now we wait for his hair to grow back, poor little guy.

Bennington Kennel has been reliable. They are prepared and greet me and pup by name- well, more the pup!

Worst golden we ever got.

I purchased a puppy from Bennington Hills breeders in Fenton MI in October of 2017. He was 10 weeks old and we paid $1500 for him. At 6 months he developed encephalitis and started having seizures. After a spinal tap he was treated with steroids, antibiotics, and seizure medication. He was doing well and at 8 months his hips began popping when he walked. The vet took X-rays and found he has bilateral hip dysphalsia and both of his knee caps are in the wrong place. His future will probably include a replacement of his ACL and hip surgery. He is now 10 months old and can only take short walks before limping. He is extremely anxious. All of these problems are related to overbreeding according to our vet. I contacted Bennington Hills owner Linda who stated she has never had issues with any of her other puppies. I explained that we are outraged at the pain and suffering this puppy has endured and will continue to have to endure from multiple future surgeries. Her answer I don’t know what to tell you but I will put the information in his file his parents are fine and I have not heard of any problems with the other puppies. No offer of any money to help with future medical expenses. $4000 spent and he is only 10 months old. Buyer beware I would never recommend this breeder they continue to breed this puppies parents. Our Harley is a beautiful dog but suffers tremendously for a puppy.

Excellent care. We never have to worry and our dog always enters happy and leaves happy.

Do not leave your pet at Benningtons! My dog was there for a weekend & when I picked her up she smelled so horrible I didn't want her in my car. I have no doubt she wasn't let out of her kennel at all! She was forced to live & sleep in her waste. When you walk in the door it reeks. I figured it was from other animals not family pets but 3 days later my dog smelled worse than what you smell walking in. I can't believe they haven’t been shut down for animal cruelty.

They are nice the puppies are adorable and well behaved

This place has always taken great care of my dog, price is reasonable too. I don't understand why they have negative reviews.. however I would suggest this place to anyone.
