Cannot say enough good things about this practice and Dr. Holahan. We have a young rescue who suffers from epilepsy. The team at dogwood has tried so hard to help us get seizure control. Any time I have called for emergencies, the staff is so calm, knowledgeable and kind. Dr. Holahan is very professional, responsive and gives you all the information you need to make the best decisions for your family.

Dr. Palma, Dr. Isaac and the entire staff are great! Dr. Palma helped my dog, Molly to walk again. They are quick to return a phone call and very helpful. I highly recommend.

Although I wish I could have visited Dogwood under better circumstances, I cannot say enough good things about Dogwood, Dr. Holahan, and the entire staff here. My fur baby Muffin has been very sick the last few months and we have had numerous appointments at many vets and speciality faculties and our experience at Dogwood has been by far the best. Not only did they make room to get my pup in last minute before the holiday when I was struggling to find someone to help with my dog suddenly becoming paralyzed, Dr. Holahan has taken so much time to help me and my pup. His attention to clients and explaining the diagnosis as well as options is nothing I have ever experienced in any type of medical field. But Dr. Holahan gave me and my pup the time of day to have multiple visits and phone calls to make sure we were sure about the decision for our baby. He even answered questions for my sister and my boyfriend on top of it. I will say I am not sure if this place is more expensive then other veterinary neurologists, but if it is, it is definitely worth it to receive the type of time and attention that we did.

We are very grateful for the wonderful treatment and care our dog received at Dogwood. We were referred to Dogwood by our regular vet after he had been having intermittent back pain for several months. The staff at Dogwood reviewed various diagnostic and treatment procedures and thoroughly and patiently answered all our questions. We appreciated that they did not push us aggressively to an specific option. We decided to go with a MRI and discovered he had a bulging disk. We opted for surgery and they were able to schedule that for the next day. We received calls pre and post each procedure and also every morning to update us on his progress. He spent 4 nights total at Dogwood and we felt he was very well cared for. He is home now and recovering well.

I’ve been here twice and one of the times my dog Zeke had to have surgery. This facility , everyone working the front desk and specifically, Dr. Diehl are phenomenal. They are knowledgeable, caring, giving and thoughtful in the decisions they make. I feel like they took such good care of Zeke during his 5 day recovery and even was there to provide me facts to calm my nerves. I would rate them 10/5 if I could.

I thought I left a review but I guess I didn’t! My French Bulldog, who is almost 6 years old, had his first herniated disc back in September. To say I was a mess would be an understatement. Even though I had prepared myself for this and got insurance for him when he was a puppy specifically for something like this, I still lost it when it happened. I was referred to Dogwood by an ER that I had called first and I’m so glad I called. Dogwood accepted us right away. It was an hour drive and the whole way there, I was so scared to even hold my little guy with how much he would cry, shake and pant. I never felt so helpless. From the moment Ace was in their care, I knew he was safe. All of the staff were absolutely wonderful and communicated with me everyday. Sometimes more than once! I would call every night to check on him too and I could hear my guy crying in the background…. But I knew this cry. It wasn’t because he was hurting, but because the staff had to walk away from him for a moment to answer the phone lol (he’s a needy little guy, even before all of this!) It was also the first time Ace had ever stayed away from home with anyone who wasn’t family so I was so worried about him. They were truly so great with him. I was relieved to know they could help control his pain until his surgery, as well. I completely trust them and if anything like this ever happens again (praying it won’t), I will always choose Dogwood.

My dog had to be rushed here with an emergency rupture of a disk in her back. They took us in and made the dog comfortable (the pain was overwhelming), and got her into an MRI and treatment quickly. The doctor took tome to explain the surgery, her prognosis and recovery timelines and expectations. They were upfront with pricing and we feel our dog is in great hands. She had some complications after her first surgery (blood clot pressing on spine). They performed another MRI with no additional cost and located the clot. They then went in and removed the clot, and now she is back on her road to recovery. When a pet is hurt it can be upsetting, Dogwood has been a great resource in helping her get better. They have my full and enthusastic reccomendation!

Dogwood was highly recommended from our Veterinarian and Blue Pearl. Our pitbull-boxer sustained a ruptured disc and declined rapidly within 3 days. She was unable to stand or walk and was in excruciating pain. We were able to schedule a MRI the following day, and she had her MRI and surgery the same day. Two weeks-post procedure and our Dairy is pain free and had her sutures removed. She continues to heal and get stronger everyday. Thank you so much to the Neurologists and her treatment team for saving her life. Update: After 4 months and 1+ year post- op Dairy continues to live her best life. ????

Dr. Isaac's was awesome, personable and very patient. Our precious angel had to be put to sleep, but it was not due to Dogwood, but from a misdiagnosis a year earlier by Oakland Veterinary Referral Service.

We had our girl “Izzy” in with partial paralysis of her left leg. We were treated with much compassion despite long wait times I would never go anywhere else. Mike Diehl was beyond excellent with informing us of EXACTLY what was happening and explaining it so clearly and slowly. I could tell my dog really felt comfortable with him and so did my wife and I. Great place to go

Got my guy in on an emergency. Dr Isaacs was amazing and kind. Cost effective treatment plan - even though I would have mortgaged my home - HIGHLY recommend

Wonderful facility and staff. Professional, competent, and clean.

My little chihuahua became paralyzed within just a few short hours after jumping off my bed. My vet told me to get her here and the next morning they did the MRI and called when she woke up to tell me she needed surgery. They explained everything and the doctor would personally call every day during her 6 day stay to let me know how she was doing. They never seemed annoyed when I called to ask how she was or get pictures of her. The staff here is very kind. They saved my little baby and almost two years later she is still doing great! ????

I found the staff to be truly caring and considerate. Information and diagnosis were clearly and carefully explained. I feel that they took the best possible care of us under the circumstances we found ourselves in.

Unfortunately I have had a few negative interactions with one resident in particular here. He will cut you off while trying to give context. Then is dismissive of what information you are able to relay to him. I cannot understand why but he felt the need to continually try and undermine what I was trying to explain, as if he thought I was lying or being inconsistent. In reality the issue was him not listening. He treated me as if I was a nuisance wasting his time. It's really sad that someone feels it necessary to bring this type of energy to an appointment when all I wanted was an informed opinion about my dogs condition.

We were very scared fur baby parents when we brought our Molly in to see Dr. Diehl. Within five hours after we were there Molly was already having surgery to repair a herniated disc. Leaving her there was very scary for us but not for long as we received photos of Molly from the night nurse and daily calls from the doctor giving us a report of how Molly was doing. Two weeks post Molly‘s surgery she is doing great. We are getting our Molly back. We are very grateful and thankful for the care that she was given. Would highly recommend Dogwood!!

Dr. Matthew Holahan and staff were excellent in helping my dog Jed who had neck pain. Highly recommend the practice.

They've taken excellent care of my dog and have taken the time to answer all my questions about his treatment for seizures. Dr. Holohan has done a great job communicating and coordinating with my dog's regular vet. Dogwood also has a caring and knowledgeable support staff.

Staff goes above and beyond to care for your pet. They are treated as if they were family. Communication is excellent. I have 2 dachshunds and I don't take them anywhere else!

Excellent clinic, look no further. I hope my dog never has an issue that requires emergency services again, but if anything ever happens again, I will feel completely confident that these vets will be honest, up front, empathetic and extremely competent. Again, excellent clinic.

We are so happy to have found Dogwood during a very scary emergency with our dachshund. Six weeks ago she was paralyzed suddenly, and required an immediate MRI and surgery. Now she is walking again and improving more every week. From all of the doctors to the support staff we are grateful. Everyone was so knowledgeable and more than willing to answer any questions we had day or night. They truly care for your animals. We wouldn’t go anywhere else.
