ABSOLUTELY love and trust this place!! They care deeply about your pet which is something rare nowadays. They call to check on your pets' health post procedures and they even took him for a free check up post teeth cleaning.

They always take good care of my 14 year old doggie. I never have issues getting appointments, the staff are very responsive and polite. It’s always clean. I recommend this place to everyone.

I Took my 12 year old golden retriever to them because he was not eating and he was lethargic and sleeping all the time, they took him in of course because of Covid I couldn’t go in and they brought me out a bill for almost $1000 because they wanted to do x-rays, and give him two different types of B vitamins, wanted to give him injections to stimulate his hunger and a couple of past regular shots. I asked because of his age should he be put down and they wanted to charge me almost $400 for that. I said no taking him home and he progressively got worse I tried to call East Detroit veterinary Hospital again and they were closed so I went to another animal hospital and the veterinarian there told me right away what was wrong with him that he was bleeding internally from tumors in his stomach and I decided then to put him down there and they only charged me $199. This veterinary hospital East Detroit, would have soaked me for $1000 instead of giving me an accurate diagnosis and I’m sure they would’ve charged me another thousand dollars to bring him back in again, do not take your animals to this place as they will charge you fees for things that the dog doesn’t need. They are a ripoff!

The nurses and doctor were very kind and made sure you understand your pets need.

Recently had a family emergency and was not able to make a appointment. I was still charged $35 for an appointment fee even though I was told I was not going to be charged. Will not refer anyone to come to this location.

Receptionist was so rude and lacked empathy.

The staff here are both friendly and efficient! I have a herd of dogs and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with them. Dr. B, Kellie, and the other girls are beyond caring! It’s hard for us all not being able to come in the clinic with our kids, but when you trust your vet and staff, it makes it all that much easier! I won’t be going anywhere else!

What is most remarkable about East Detroit Animal Hospital is their staff. Doc and Kellie have provided compassionate, quality care to all of my furbabies over the years. They take into account all aspects of the animal’s individual needs based on physical health and behavior. Both Doc and Kellie are kind and gentle and I feel that my furbabies respond incredibly well to their care techniques. I wouldn’t trust the health care of my animals to anyone else!

I was going to another vet for my dog who is 9 months, after switching to here I realized how much information my other vet was holding me out on. Everyone here is very kind, friendly, and knowledgeable and I appreciate the doctor taking time to call and talk to me!

Absolutely love this office! The doctor, technician and all staff are extremely professional, kind and caring. My fur baby and I are extremely blessed to have them in our life! I travel over an hour to specifically see this doctor and it is 110% worth it every time! From answering every phone call and question I have ever had to handling urgent matters, they have always been there. Always willing to offer guidance in all forms. I would highly recommend this office to anyone I know!

I brought my dog in for an itch. They prescribed him multiple meds without giving a thorough examination and went solely on how I described the situation instead of blood work or otherwise.Days later, he's extremely lethargic, not eating or drinking and losing the will to live. He's never been this way. When I addressed the situation to the vet, she didn't want to take ownership of her mistake. They're all about the money. Wolves in sheep skin. Only reason for coming here was because my old vet closed down due to the pandemic. Piecemeal or not, my other vet got things taken care of with minimal medication instead of multiple meds that are supposed to do the same thing. Each prescription that I recieved share the same side effects, but when brought to the vet's attention, she denied such things. UPDATE: I took my dog to Harper Woods Veterinary Hospital. The vet here confirmed that his ailments are definitely due to the fluconazole that was prescribed by the vet at East Detroit Animal Hospital. They successfully treated my pet and at a reasonable cost. After my experience at East Detroit, I will never return. Thank you Harper Woods Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Ballaranda, vet tech Kellie and the entire staff are top notch people. They have taken care of my 2 dogs, and my cat for a while now. I love them all for the necessary and also preventative care they have given my pets. Wouldn't trust their health and well being to any other vet.

My husband took our cat to be seen at the vet because our vet didn't have any openings. We took her into the vet for what we thought was an upper respiratory infection. The vet said she looked fine. No runny eyes or nose, she just kept sneezing is why we took her in. She was prescribed azithromycin liquid 200 mg for $42.00! Yes the antibiotic that would have been FREE at Meijer Pharmacy! $42.00 wow then also prescribed Chlorpheniramine Tabs 4 mg for allergies 30 tabs for $24.00. You can get a whole bottle of 100 for $6.38. Not to mention Viralys powder supplement which is not necessary was another $32.00. This place is way overpriced! Save yourself some money and go elsewhere. Now I remember why we quit going to this office. Very disappointed that they would take advantage of people when there furbaby is not feeling well.

Horrible customer service with their mono tone Receptionist. Had my pet there to be put under for a ear exam, cleaning and shots. Cost $450. Was given one paper script and was emailed me two others that I would have to order. Go to place the online order one offered free shipping other only wanted next day shipping which cost $22. Called the vet and they informed me I could get them filled anywhere. I found it on chewy and now they refuse to approve the script over the phone with chewy and they want me to mail it to them ???? now my dog ear are getting worse as I’m still fighting with them to find a place to get my dogs prescription filled. WILL NEVER TAKE MY DOGS HERE AGAIN!

My cats are always treated like royalty. They're knowledgeable, talented professionals. They've done tooth extractions, spay and neuter, and kept one of my babies for a week on IVs. I've been coming here for at least 15 years. Dr. B and Kelly are the best!

This veterinary hospital saved my dogs life!!! She was very ill seven years ago, on the brink of death, and they identified what was wrong with her, and placed her on the right diet, medications and nursed her back to health. The Doctor is very kind, patient and caring. She is gentle and honest, she truly cares about your pet. The staff is extremely helpful and kind as well, they are responsive and courteous, they have a sense of urgency. I have been bringing my dog here for many years and will always bring any pet I have, to them, I have long since moved out of the neighborhood this hospital is in, but I now drive 40 minutes to bring my fur baby to them- that's how good they are.
