Had to bring my 1.5-year-old gerbil in for an exam and later a toe amputation due to a mass. Everyone there was super nice, super knowledgeable, punctual and caring. The surgery was incredibly successful. My gerb doesn't even look like he's missing a toe! I got a post-surgery checkup done free of charge, and phone calls throughout the surgery/recovery process just to check up on how he was doing. I worked with Dr. Golombek, Dr. Bismack, and vet techs Marie and Liz and they're all spectacular! The people at the front desk are super nice too. Definitely a good place to go for exotic pets. Thanks so much, guys!!

They treat Mittens like she's their baby and I love that level of concern for her.❤

I have been going to Berkley Animal Clinic for a few years, and I just got back from my first visit seeing Dr Carrion. She was extremely caring towards my dog and had her bests interests in mind. It was also the first time Hailey was the assigned vet tech and she was also very attentive and caring towards my dog. Probably my best all around experience at a vet ever, and my dog sees lots of vet specialists all over town.

I had to euthanize my dog today. The doctors were very nice and accommodating. It was the first time I had to do this and they were understanding. They offered options of care and made me feel that my choice was the right one. Thank you.

I have been taking my pets to Berkley Animal Clinic for 8 years. For a long time, I was really happy with the experience and care my dog and cats received. I loved that it was just down the street from me, and felt like a small-town practice. Unfortunately, it feels like the experience has changed for the worse lately. Super long wait times, long waits to get appointments, higher prices. The tipping point was my feeling lately that they are constantly upselling extra and more expensive services than necessary, so a basic annual checkup ends up costing at least $100-200, which is bananas, considering the time spent waiting and the actual time spent with a vet. I requested to get a script written so I could shop for better prescription food prices elsewhere, and was charged a $5 ‘script fee.’ The small charges and annoyances add up to an unhappy experience. I’ll be taking my pets elswhere in the future.

My mother took our dog to be put down here yesterday and I am shocked at the unprofessionalism she experienced. She told me that the doctors made the already tough situation 10 times worse. She was left in the room for so long that she thought she was forgotten about. When someone finally came in, they rudely questioned our decision as a family to put our dog down. (I have personally felt extremely and unreasonably judged by the staff at other appointments as well). We knew something was wrong with our dog and it was her time but they wanted us to pay for expensive pain medicine instead. We refused and come to find out her heart was failing and her veins were collapsing due to her old age. The meds would of done nothing but make them more money. I am appalled at this whole situation. Especially the fact that they made my mother feel 10X worse than she already did about the situation. We will NEVER be returning. Don’t bother with an apology, tell your staff to do better.

Just find another vet, don’t even waste your time. They’re always “tripled booked”. If you have any type of urgent situation or emergency, they won’t be able to see you for days. They’ve been unable to help me when my dog was unconscious, lost so much blood from a dew claw she couldn’t even stand up, throwing up and having bloody diarrhea. Oh, if you already have an appointment but need them to check out something else, they will make you make another appointment for weeks later. Just a big waste of time.

Berkley Animal Clinic is the absolute best. They truly care about your pet as if it is their own. While a lot of vets will try to up-charge you for services and medication, Berkley has always been incredibly fair and low cost while still providing exceptional friendly service. After taking my cat to an ER, they had him in for a follow up visit free of charge.

Very professional and kind staff. The vets we've seen there have treated our animals well, and even our shy young dog loves it there.

I DO NOT recommend this place if you are putting your animal to rest! The whole process took 1.5 hours and most of it was us waiting on them. We had a horrible first experience with them. Now I see why no one mentioned this place when we were looking for recommendations.

I am so, so grateful to Dr. Bismack and the rest of the team at Berkley Animal Clinic for all of their incredible work. A little over a year ago, I adopt my cat Digby and was completely overwhelmed by the health problems he began showing. I was so scared he wouldn’t pull through, but Dr. Bismack and the rest of the staff were with me every step of the way doing everything they could to help us. Dr. Bismack’s treatment plan was a huge success and Digby is happier and healthier than ever! I am so sad to have had to move away and find a new vet, but will forever be thankful for the amazing care we received here. Thank you all so so SO much.

The absolute worst animal clinic. Save your time and money and go somewhere where they care about your animals care. Every single person gives a different response. The staff is rude. I paid for a pre surgical blood panel for my dogs surgery, the surgery center requested it and they never sent it. I had to pay thousands to an emergency vet because Berkley wouldn’t see my dog even though he is an established patient and in the end all my dog needed was Benadryl. Every single time I called about my dogs meds they didn’t know what he was on or what dosage. They will make you come in for EVERYTHING and charge office visits. Even just for a med refill. I called several days in a row and never got a call back. Terrible service. Myself and my cousin and their animals are going elsewhere.

One of the worst vets I have ever been to, they try to upsell you on things your pet doesn’t need, the staff is not friendly, not willing to accommodate, they do not seem to have your pets best interest in mind. I would not trust taking my pet here again.

I previously took my cats to a clinic in Ann Arbor before moving to Hazel Park, so I was looking for a new vet in the area. Reading the other comments, it makes a lot of sense to me that there was a change in ownership, because this place was highly recommended and I was disappointed by the experience. I adopted a kitten with runny eyes, and unfortunately it turned out to be chlamydia which he then passed on to my older cat. I brought my older cat to be examined, they prescribed him a run of antibiotics but I was concerned that if my younger cat was not also treated, they would pass the infection back and forth to each other. So a prescription was written for my younger cat as well without having having examined him. After going through the two week course, there was no improvement in their symptoms. I returned to the clinic and talked to a new vet. This time they said they would not renew the prescription without examining the younger cat and I had to bring him in on another day leading to three visits in total. I feel that the first vet should not have written a prescription for my pet without seeing him first based on my experience with the second vet, and that the prescription was too low to be effective. So I feel that I wasted my time giving my cats medicine that they hated for two weeks all while they still suffered from their original symptoms, and I wasted my money with no explanation or apology from the clinic. Now I make the hour long drive out to our previous vet in Ann Arbor, it's worth it to me to know they're being taken care of properly.

Seriously the worst vet I have ever gone to. They didn't do anything I asked and did things I did not ask for. They kept my dogs from me for over two hours and when I got to my dogs they were visibly stressed and thirsty. Go somewhere else. I will never ever take my dogs to this incompetent vet.

$400 for X-rays and blood work was more than I could afford. they also said that they put a needle in my dog preemptively for blood work before they even told over the phone what they were doing because I dropped my dog off at the door and had to wait in my car because of covid. I went to Gasow and ultimately spent $60 for X-rays and another 60 for blood work. The vet massaged my dog's abdomen and insisted the x-rays likely were not necessary but would be happy to perform them anyway in case there was an obstruction. I understand it's a business I just feel a little bit you know...

Everyone was so sweet. They got us in quickly. The office was very clean. They did amazing with my dog. They even took the time to answer my million questions. Highly recommend this vet to everyone.

Meh. They used to be amazing, but every visit seems to be less and less about the pet, less about customers satisfaction and more about the money.
