We dropped our 10 month old pitbull off for a 5 day vacation! When we got there I was in tears, just leaving my puppy wasnt easy, but he chatted with us for awhile, I got to leave feeling like my dog was in good hands and no tears ????! Great guy, very knowledgable! Would definitely use them again!

This is the third time we have used this kennel and were shocked at the stark difference between our first and what will be our very last to this kennel. We found Uncle Ted's after looking for some alternatives to our current kenneling options. My husband went out and talked to the owner, who told him they just built the facility and have a lot of acreage where they walk the dogs every day and play with them. They said the kennels get cleaned out daily and they really try to take good care of the dogs. They gave my husband a really good impression. The first 2 times we took our dogs there, we had no problems. That was about a year ago. Since then, I think things have gone lax. They no longer take the dogs for daily walks, instead they just tie them out in a communal lot while they spray out their pen. Being that they do not check vet records (I specifically asked, and the guy told me not to worry about it), the dogs that eliminate in this lot can easily spread disease to the other dogs in the kennel. There was dried, uncleaned feces in this area both when I dropped them off and picked them up 3 days later. He then proceeded to tell me my puppy was a barker (she's a Husky, and a dog: they bark). He told me he grabbed her snout with his hand and clamped down a few times and made her shut up. We never EVER asked for ANY behavioral training at all. The fact that he abused my dog because she was being a dog was appalling. Then, he was very aloof while I was explaining how to feed the dogs (each had different food, puppy vs dog food) and at that time I explained medication requirements for our older dog. He rolled his eyes and gave me the impression he wasn't really paying attention. When I got back, the pill bag only had one day of meds gone from it. He explained that my dog didn't want it but the puppy, who is less than 6 months old, ate it instead. No phone call to either us or the vet. He just assumed the puppy would be fine. On top of that, the meds my dog take need to be administered daily to be effective. What would have happened if it would have been a pill for something heart related? Would he have called me if my dog would have died? I am honestly not sure. We even sent the owner a text to CONFIRM which dog gets the right dosages. Lastly, the kennel both times STUNK of dog pee inside. I get it is hot, but if the kennels are truly cleaned out every day, I would think it wouldn't burn your nose everytime you walk in. My dogs came home wet (supposedly they were let out while they cleaned, but I don't know if they just sprayed the dogs with the kennel) and smelling like awful dog pee. I don't even want to think about how they were treated while they were there. Yes, they are just dogs, but I have taken on the responsibility of taking the best care I can of them for their lives, and this place definitely doesn't do that. Please, don't take your dogs here. Go with another place that cares.

We took our dogs there when we headed up north for a few days. The kennel he has is very nice, it's well laid out. Our dogs seemed to have done well while in his care. Will use his services again if we need to board the dogs.

Uncle Ted has been a tremendous help to my local rescue group! He has helped us out for several years and I know the dogs get what they needed while they are there. They get out for exercise and Ted has helped us with several behavioral problems over the years. The grooming service there also does a great job!
