Compared to four other Banfield Pet Hospitals in area, Plymouth is sub-par. Dr. LaFort clearly doesn't provide "quality" care because she doesn't listen to pet parents during visits! In addition, Dr LaFort/her staff are not reliable as evidenced by the fact that Dr LaFort/her staff verbally state they are aware of the pet pharmacy preference yet fail to order medication at pharmacy of pet parent choice forcing pet parents to use Banfield's choice.

This is by far the worst veterinary office I’ve ever dealt with. Please don’t bother with the optimum wellness plan, as you will never be given an appointment if you need one. There isn’t even a vet on site every day. I pay for my dog to be seen if and when he is sick and for well visits. It’s impossible to get an appointment for a sick visit. I feel as if they’re just stealing people’s money at this point. Please don’t bring your animals to this place, it’s horrid (provided you can actually get an appointment)

We have been going to Banfield since my dog was a puppy and she is 11 now. We have always had great experiences with the wellness plan and have never had a problem. The past two times we have been there have been terrible. Even for simple things like a nail trimming, we were told that they were unable to perform this because our dog was “thrashing” too much. Never had a problem at any banfield for the previous 11 years before, but twice in a row here. So instead of trying to just take some extra time and trim my dogs nails, they tried to sell me $90 anti-anxiety medication. Ever since the PetSmart split, this place has gone down hill. We will most likely be looking for a new vet. Sad to see it go downhill so fast.

Dr. Davis is great. She's not listed on the website, so if you look for her she won't come up, but you can book appointments with her. Today, unfortunately she wasn't available. Moral of the very long, terrible story is that you should avoid Dr. LaFort at all cost. Thank me later.

Charged me for stuff that was part of my plan, even when the manager told me I wouldn't get charged.

I sighed up for a wellness plan 1 year ago. Included in my plan was regular vet visits for my pet, 1 year of heart worm preventative medicine (6 months supply when you sign up, and 6 months supply at a later date), and a teeth cleaning procedure. The first problem was that they made me pay for my second 6 month supply of heart worm medicine. I took this one with a grit of my teeth and just paid the $70, even thought it was already part of my plan and should have been free. The second problem was much worse. I brought my dog in on January 8, 2021 for his teeth cleaning. They said he tested positive for heart worms, and they wanted to send his blood into a proper lab to get tested for heartworms (because apparently the test they use is low quality, like everything else they do here). They had the bloodwork sent in, and the high quality test said he tested negative. Enter the worst employee in the history of employees: Valorie. I was then scheduled by Valorie to come in on January 13, 2021, again for his teeth cleaning. They did another heart worm test, and I got a call from one male employee (I forget this guy's name) saying my dog tested negative. I then got a call, on the same day, January 13, 2021, from the worst employee ever, Valorie, saying that he had tested positive! So, which one was it... positive or negative? The doctor arrived late that day around 9:30, and called me and told me that he had tested negative for heart worms, but that she wanted to send the blood into the lab again to have it tested again because their blood test for heartworms is completely useless. The doctor also said that Valorie should never have scheduled Pumpkin to come in so soon after his last appointment, that I should bring him back in March. I never heard back from Banfield regarding the results of this second test. So, I talked to the manager over the phone, and she said that I could bring Pumpkin in on March 10, 2021, and that everything that was going to be done would be covered under my plan (that was today, the day I'm writing this review). Guess who checked me in? That's right, Valorie again, the worst of the worst. I brought him in, and was told that they were going to charge me $37 for the teeth cleaning procedure. This was strange. It was opposite what the manager had told me. Valorie had told me that I was being charged because my plan only covered 1 heart worm test, but this is counterintuitive because they had already performed 2 for free. When I told her this, Valorie yelled at me, and told me that I had only brought my dog in once before, when I had brought him in twice before! The manager AND doctor Magnata had both told me that the heart worm check was part of the teeth cleaning procedure, and that I would not have to pay for another one. Valorie didn't care. She didn't listen. She caused me problems, then refused to help me solve them. She needs to be fired.

They have a wonderful staff especially Jess Vargas! My Smore's was 18 years old and at the end of his time here with me sadly with all my love i had to let him go painlessly. On January 29 2019. The Vet and Jess by our side They we're just WONDERFUL! They we're compassionate and respectful above and beyond just a job for them. Always will i remember that moment Thank You! This is my Smore's

I have been going here since my dog was a puppy and he’s now 4. I decided not to renew my plan cause they just really went downhill here in the passed year. They used to be good but idk what happened. I feel like they don’t care anymore. They’re very disorganized now and I loved Dr. Brown and she’s not there anymore. So there’s no point in me staying. Also I’m not happy with how they’ve treated my boyfriend with his dog. He paid for a dental cleaning (included in the plan) and literally tried bringing in his dog 3 times to get it done and the dog was sent home the first 2 times and on the third attempt they told him that he would have to pay AGAIN for the dental! He already paid for a service he never got. Also they made him pay for heart worm medicine which is supposed to be included in the plan. I’m sorry I don’t feel comfortable with them taking care of my dog anymore.

We have been going to banfield in plymouth since my dogs were pups they are 10,9 & 3 . They were always fine up until just a few months ago when i was informed our regular vet was now gone and most of the people in there are new to me. I will not be going back after 10 yrs they dont seem to care anymore about the animals its all about payment. We have a plan thru them havent changed any of my bank info but now all of a sudden our plan is on hold for non payment for the 3rd month in a row. I was alson informed that today i would have to pay full price for prescription and omg amazing it was cheaper to pay full price than with their discount and making a payment on account. I will not be returning to Banfield in Plymouth and for that u get 1 star............

Today my cat was having issues with his eye. He's an indoor cat and never had any issues so we haven't been regular vet people. I signed our cat up for the wellness plan and called to see if they had any appointments sooner than their website showed. They had some cancellations and were able to take our cat in right away! We dropped him off and came back to pick him up later (COVID policy). Everyone was so nice, clear with instructions and what they did for him.

Dr. Lussier and her staff are beyond kind, compassionate and caring when it comes to caring for my seven year old goldendoodle. He has been a patient of Dr. Lussier since I brought him home. She’s so good about listening to me and my concerns as well as patient with my dog as he gets nervous. I highly recommend Banfield in Plymouth.

Refused to see my dog on short notice because she hasn’t been there before. My local Banfield even called to discuss as they didn’t see a problem with me going there as I have the Banfield plan. Major thumbs down.

1. Friendly & Fast! Everyone was very kind and informative. I tend to forget all the things I plan on bringing up to the vet when I'm standing in the office. But, every step of the way they explained what they were doing and why and were full of knowledge. 2. They have the gentle touch! They were wonderful with my small, extremely shy chihuahua. He never made a fuss. They talked to him and gave him praise every step of they way which is exactly what my little boy needed to make it through such a 'scary' time. ???? 3. Not pushy! I really liked the fact that unlike other vets they were very realistic. No one tried to push products, tests or procedures that weren't necessary. Which leads me to #4. 4. No guilt for saying no! There was no 'bad pet parent' guilt vibe for declining anything, which I find to happen at other vets. They were very realistic about what my pup needed, made suggestions, gave me pamphlets to take home and review but 'let it be' when I declined. OVERALL: It was such a pleasant experience for both myself and my fur baby. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a vet that will look at your pet with the same love and compassion you do.
