Last night as I read the reviews, I became hesitant, because I started focusing on the negative ones and wondering if bringing my dog, Caroline, would be a big mistake - but, she needed to go this morning. I'm happy I ignored the negative …

If I could give these people a 10 star rating I really would, unlike VCA they actually care it will work with you to make sure you are beloved pets get the care they need. Now sadly I don't remember names but I would love to thank everybody involved for what they do!

As a new dog mom, I couldn't have asked for a more compassionate and caring team to manage me and my pup through our first emergency. The team was able to explain everything to me so I could feel comfortable navigating through this anxious …

Our 12 year old dog was extremely sick from prescribed medicine for an injury. Our veterinarian hospital was not able to see us, so we searched for any place that could help. Every place was overwhelmed and not capable. V E G was open( they are open 24/7) and able to see us. It is very busy yet the staff are calm, welcoming and patient. It is like a human emergency room and icu. They took care of our fur baby like he was their own. They let you know all costs upfront and tell you all options that are available. I am so happy we found them and will recommend V E G to everyone we know. They were very busy and still took time to call and update us because they knew how much we were worried. Our baby had to stay 2 days and is now home and doing well.

We had to take our Sylvester in and say goodbye. ???? We are devastated, the only comfort is he battled right to the end, no options were left. 18+ years old, he had a full life. The staff at VEG were amazing and treated us and Sylvester with so much compassion. I wish I caught the Dr's name but with all the emotion it slipped by. He was so very kind. (edit) Dr. J. Labes. Rest now Sylvester you were Sweet & Gentle. xxx

No one likes going to the vet, especially when it's an emergency or something concerning. VEG Newton is by far the best veterinary experience we have ever had. Our 12 year old cat had what we thought was a minor respiratory issue that did …

I can't say enough good things about VEG. I was hesitant to come here simply because I think of Angell and Tufts as the gold standard for veterinary emergency care in Massachusetts but VEG has been wonderful. They are extremely thorough and …

VEG was great! I really appreciated that we could be with our kitty during exam and treatment. It makes a big difference when dealing with emergencies and it will be the reason for a return visit, should we ever need it in the future. I'm so grateful not to have needed to wait in the car while our kitten was being examined. Luke was excellent, and put us right at ease! As was Dr. Mello! We are so happy with our experience here and our kitten is already feeling much better.

I brought Kobi in to see if she had a UTI. I do not live near this hospital. I called several places to try and get Kobi seen on Christmas Eve day but was told that they were only seeing emergencies. VEG said yes right away. I realize that times are different because of the pandemic and staff shortages but I would have had to wait another week and a half to have Kobi seen by her own veterinarian because of the holiday. Even though her situation wasn’t an extreme emergency, it bothered me that she would have been in pain for that long and the fact that it could get worse. So I am extremely appreciative that they didn’t send me away. As it turned out it may be something more complicated and concerning. As with any emergency hospital the wait to be seen was long, however it was worth it. It eased my mind to know what I was looking at and to be able to get her treatment started immediately. In the future this will be the hospital I go too even after the pandemic. Everyone one was extremely pleasant, professional and attentive as this was on Christmas Eve and they were busy as ever. Then I received a follow up email asking how Kobi was doing and reassured me that if I had any questions that they were available and to call them.

The Doctors and techs were so incredible. They helped put us at ease from the phone call we first made until the time we checked out. Dr. Lauren was so impressive and so In tune to our needs. Incredible manner with our dog and so incredibly helpful. The Vet tech that was by our side since the moment we checked in was Sarah. What a fantastic person. I believe my dog will have a hard time leaving her behind lol. Can’t begin to say enough nice things about her and the other tech that helped her with the iv’s . Thank you to everyone for making our day a lot calmer and less stressful. Will always be grateful for you ladies. Thank you again and God bless you all!

I can't recommend this place enough. We brought our girl Jayden in for emergency treatment. First, this was the only facility that took her. Others were at capacity or closed. We were greeted by a great group of people. They really care …

I brought my cat in to VEG in Newton earlier this month. I found the intake process to be easy, and the wait was within reason as far as emergency rooms go. My doctor (Dr. Mello) was very good with my cat, as were the technicians working that night. They had a lot of energy despite it being 2 in the morning. Overall it was a positive experience - I can tell the folks working there really love the animals and enjoy their work. I would bring my cat there again.

I brought my dog, Jasper, in on Thanksgiving with colitis, and dehydration. We were treated with great care and professionalism. A second trip was necessary for some respiratory problem. Though the outcome of that visit did not have a happy outcome, Jasper was treated with kindness and compassion. I cannot praise the Dr's and staff enough for their support and efforts to provide great veterinary care.

The staff at VEG really helped our dog out today! We were turned away by two other veterinary hospitals [one for not offering ER services and the other being at capacity] before being taken by VEG. They were so kind on the phone and prepared us for our visit by checking us in online before arriving. Once we got there, everyone we encountered was so kind, reassuring, and funny. Alissa stuck with us throughout the entire visit and made sure our little guy got the help he needed today. Dr. Krone and the entire team at VEG are awesome at what they do! I couldn’t recommend them enough; thanks so much!

I’ve literally never left a review for anything, but after today’s experience I feel like I need to. I brought my cat in at 7:30am with concerns about a potential intestinal blockage, and everyone at VEG was so kind and helpful from the first interaction on the phone to when I picked her up after observation nearly 12 hours later! As an anxious new cat mom, they were wonderful with keeping me informed and updated throughout the process and answering my many many questions. Hoping we don’t have a repeat visit anytime soon, but if my little lady gets herself into any more trouble I won’t hesitate to come back and have the VEG team care for her again!

Dr. Lauren Krone and her staff at Veterinary Emergency Group are amazing! They treated our dog, Birdie, so well on multiple occasions (we are more than willing to make the hour drive from Bolton to Newton because of their care and kindness). They are knowledgeable, professional, social, great with pets (even our high energy dog), able to diagnose the issues at hand in a quick and detailed manner, and able to communicate the diagnosis and required action plan in a clear and articulate way so that we could understand. I couldn't ask for anything more from an emergency Vet. I highly recommend the Veterinary Emergency Group. For emergency situations late at night after hours or on the weekend, I don't know of a better emergency Vet.

Taking your pet to the ER is never fun, but the staff at VEG Newton are amazing and provide the absolute most caring and professional service. I have taken two of my pets here, one dog and one bearded dragon and both times I was treated with so much respect and attention during my visit. I cannot say how much I appreciate being able to stay with my pets throughout the entire service instead of being told to wait in the lobby like most places would make clients do. I greatly appreciate the staff at this facility and wouldn't take my pets anywhere else in the event of an emergency. Thank you to all of the staff for making a difference and showing me the respect and time I needed during my visits. You made a scary moment into a tolerable experience and it is something I'll always be grateful for.

My dog was really sick, I was turned away by 2 other animal hospital because they said he wasn’t critical enough to be seen by there vets. Both places triaged my dog and said it looked like his back was causing the problems. They both said as long as I keep him calm I could wait until Monday to see his vet. The next day was a Saturday, he was so much worse I called one of the hospitals we went to the night before and begged them to look at him. They said he still wasn’t critical enough. I thankfully found veg. I called them and they said bring him up. The vet spent all of 2 min with my dog and knew it wasn’t his back. He had a blockage from bladder stones. They went above and beyond for my dog. The vets and the techs are amazing. They are so friendly and compassionate. They deserve 10 stars. My advice is if you have a sick pet go right to veg. A vet will see your animal and you can stay with them the entire time. Veg has so pretty amazing employees

We had a critical emergency with our pet bunny and came right here. We were seen instantly and take care of immediately. The staff is compassionate, patient and very accommodating. Thank you so much for taking care of our Squanto to be sure he got the best care possible.

This was the most compassionate care my dog and I have ever received. My 15 year old shitzu had an emergency visit at VEG in Newton late this afternoon. From the initial entrance and the kind greeting we received to the techs, nurses, and the kindest vet, this care team was just wonderful. My pet and I left relieved and she was sent home with meds and guidance for her follow up healing expectations. Highly recommend! Thank you to everyone that compassionately works here.!
