Overall a very good vet clinic. We are very happy with the affordability, the care our pets receive, and the attention to detail. With that said - the front desk staff can sometimes have a bit of an attitude that is off putting. I try to treat all ain staff courteously as I know their jobs, scheduling, etc can be tough - but I often seem to get a negative attitude for no reason here. It's the only thing keeping me from giving MAC 5 stars

Extremely unprofessional and clearly too busy to care for the well being of your pet. Dr. Harrison should be ashamed of his disrespect of animals and their family. Dr. Harrison put in my pets record that “he is very busy” and “I should go somewhere else for service.” I suggest he reassesses his willingness to support animals health and well-being. Never going back.

I've been a client of MAC for less than a year. They've always been amazing, courteous, kind and professional. Last week I had to lose the love of my life, my dog. I've had her for 16 years and we had a bond few would understand. Been through a lot together. I completely broke down and crumbled to pieces at the vet after her passing, and Dr Harrison was so kind to me. They are super busy, but they still made time for me, because my girl was in pain and I couldn't bear to watch her and wait, and be able to do nothing to help her. This was Thursday, 4/29!21. Yesterday I received a card from them, expressing their deep condolences and it was signed by everyone in the office. I don't think you guys realize just how much that meant. It brought a few tears to my eyes, as I didn't expect an act of kindness and compassion such as this. If you have any pet, these guys are the place to go. They have my business forever. Thank you all so much for everything. ~ Jason

I have always heard great things about Dr. Johnsons office. The majority of staff is very kind, and before I get into the issues I do want to say they did reimburse me for the issues they caused, except they were rude when I voiced how what they did was wrong and upset me. When I got my kitten fixed at Dr. Johnsons, I was not prescribed pain medication for her. 5 days went by and she was not eating, and was obviously in extreme pain. She hardly moved and yowled constantly. My cat is normally extremely energetic to begin with so the fact that She wasn't moving was concerning. She was only 5 pounds at the time of her surgery and by the following week I could feel her vertebrae. I did some looking online and saw that it is common practice to give animals pain meds for at least the first few days after surgery. I called the office and explained what was going on and asked for pain medication. I was told from the lady on the phone that yes, female cats do have a difficult time recovering, more difficult than most animals due to the hormone loss, but my cat was not going to be receiving the medication. I was basically told to have her tough it out. I called a few other places who told me that it is old school practice and cruel to not give cats medication after surgery and I eventually brought her to an animal hospital where she received medication right away after her check up and visit. After that, I did not go back to Dr. Johnsons for a while. Until I got a letter in the mail saying it was time for my cats boosters so I took her back to get her shots. While I was there, I mentioned that her eye seemed to be giving her some trouble. They took a look and decided she needed some medication for an infection. They prescribed Animax and told me to give it to her 2 times a day for a week, and then 1 time a day for the second week. About 3 days in, I noticed her eye was swollen shut and getting worse. I decided to do some research about the medication. I found that it was for skin irritation and ear infections. But can cause hearing loss when used in the ears. I searched everywhere and it all said to not put in eyes. I called a few different vets and got in contact with the Cat Clinic of Plymouth. They confirmed that it was "extremely dangerous" to put animax in the eyes and asked to see her immediately. I am happy to say that they have taken great care of her and she has recovered in full. This is not the only issues I have encountered with Dr Johnson. My friend used to take her dog there, and her dog was prescribed 8 pills a day for an anxiety disorder. She found out her dog only needed 2 pills after checking with someone she knew who worked with dogs because she thought 8 seemed a bit much. I also discovered that my cat is missing some of her cerebral cortex and has asthma. When I mentioned she was coughing  Dr. Johnson brushed it off as allergies. Dr. Johnsons son, who is very kind and the only Dr there who I felt cared about my animal, noticed some fly bitting and head shaking and warned me she might have a neurological disorder. When I brought her to the cat clinic of Plymouth, they did testing right away and diagnosed her with Cerebral hypoplasia while the Middleboro animal clinic didn't look further into her neurological issue. It is because of all of these things that I believe Dr. Johnson is extremely old fashioned and does not prioritize cats as much as his other animals. If you are a pet owner,  I do NOT recommend bringing your animal there. They have a kind staff (for the most part) but for the over all well being, diagnosis and health of your animal they are not the way to go. I would like to recommend the Cat Clinic of Plymouth, they have been amazing when caring for my kitten.

I drive from Weymouth to do go here. The prices are much more reasonable and I find them to be caring and attentive. They even called to check on both of my cats the next day after getting them fixed. That is something that no other vet has ever done.

Dr. Johnson is amazing! He is so wonderful with both of my cats since the day I got them as kittens, they are 9 now. He treats them like family and his passion for what he does and his compassion towards animals is off the charts amazing ????! His office staff is incredibly friendly also. They are always able to fit me in if one of them has an issue between routine visits. I moved out of state and I still travel about 40-45 min to go there because this office is that awesome! Very highly recommended!

My 13 year old labradoodle was showing symptoms of Lyme Disease- she’s had it in the past. We were turned away from 4 Veterinarians, including our OWN Vet because she received her Rabies shot at Petco during a visit to the store. Therefore, she had not gone to our Vet and COVID hit, so no visit within a year’s time. Whereas we had not been there in the year (thankfully, she didn’t need to!), we were now considered a New Patient and they were not accepting New Patients!!! We have been going there for most of the 13 years! My blood boiled. We contacted other local vets. We were told at the other Vets that they were not accepting new patients as well. Middleboro Animal Clinic responded to our poor dog’s need. They took her in and assessed her, and gave her the medication she truly needed. We were all shocked that Veterinarians are turning away loved pets during this crisis. They need help just like us. Thank you, Doctor Johnson for your compassion and patience!
