I am constantly impressed with the professionalism and responsiveness of this outstanding animal hospital. My dog Loki suffered a paw pad laceration during the winter storm January 7th. I called several vet clinics in this area hoping to find services. Many were closed… except for Seaport, which flat out refused to provide emergency services. Luckily Northshore opened at 12. They took us in immediately and stitched my boys paw back together within minutes. What’s more, they weren’t afraid to allow me in the building to accompany my dog. I can’t say enough great things about the actual CARE we received from Dr Lee Powell and the staff there. Simply outstanding, professional, and ethical. Shame on Seaport for refusing urgent care services!

Unprofessional staff. Have cancelled twice now this week for an appt. Help me understand how a professional business cannot get a solid grasp/handle on scheduling. Will.not be coming back.

I was hoping that this Vet worked out as it is close to my house and i always try and support small business. My wife called and explained our cat gets very sick in the car and can be very difficult to examine can you help and if not we will seek another Vet. They said no problem set an appointment for Saturday June 19. 1100 am. We stated we would come any time and of course pay any amount. My wife arrived promptly at 11, She was told to wait in the car. She then had to call the office three times while she waited in the car. Finally at 1230 the cat was taken in by an unhappy staff member. MY wife left and i went to pick up the cat. As i arrived the doctor came out which i appreciated and said the pet was too difficult to examine. The doctor also said that he was able to test her for diabetes and she has diabetes. The doctor stated "shell die without treatment" multiple times when we spoke. He apologized for the 1 1/2 my wife waited in the lot. i said i understand no problem what can we try next. He said hed call with results and a plan so i took the cat home. He called a few days later and apologized for everything again and said, "next time well set an 830 appointment we will take the pet in and sedate her and you can go for a ride and come back and pick her up, the latest shell be done is 915-930". I was feeling hopeful and thought the long wait and disorganization at the last appointment was a one time issue. I stated again my cat gets sick in the car so id appreciate it if there was not a long wait. He said "well take her in right at 830". Appointment set 830 am Wed July 30. I arrive promptly at 830 on the appointment day. I am a Veteran, and most Veterans (and most professionals) take appointment times seriously. I was immediately confused as A sign on the door said clinic closed until 9 am please call this number, and I had an 830 appointment. I call and no answer. I leave a message saying i had an 830 appointment and who I was. Im not sure what kind of operation schedules an 830 appointment when they open at 9. After no call back i knock on the door. A window slides open and a unfriendly staff member says "can i help you" I state "my name is isaac pike my cats name is Kiwi im here for an 830 appointment my cat was to be sedated for a blood test", she says nothing and shuts the window. Window opens back up "whats the pets name", i say my name isaac pike the pets name is kiwi i was scheduled for an 830 (its 840) appointment for my cat to be sedated for a blood test", she says "your gonna have to hang tight in the parking lot", i repeat my cat gets very sick in the car do you know how long ill wait ? an eyeroll and a shoulder shrug and window closes. I wait another 15 minutes and leave as the doctor is not even there. So my 830 am appointment is happening around 1030 am in my estimation. no call for the day. later in the afternoon i get an email no call. from the doctor saying "sorry for the confusion this morning", im not sure if the confusion he means is when my wife sat in the lot for 1 1/2 hours last appointment after saying my cat gets sick in the car. or if the confusion he means is that his own office was unaware and unprepared for an appointment that they scheduled. Or if the confusion was that i had an 830 appointment and the sign on the door says Clinic opens at 9. He also said in the email that he believes now that treatment should happen at home and provided info for a holistic home pet aid. I am unsure why his medial opinion changed due to his staff being unprepared/unaware of an appointment he himself scheduled with me. I will be seeking recourse through the division or professional licensure and the better business bureau. I work in health care overbooking due to greed or incompetence is no excuse to deny or delay care. I am just sorry i have to go back to "the clinic" to get my pets info as i dont believe this office can send a fax effectively to my new vet.

They were great caring for my elderly cat who had very suddenly declined. They kindly fit her into their busy schedule the same day even though she was a first-time patient. The vet came out to talk with me after he examined her, gave me his well-reasoned recommendation for care along with some other options. He was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The vet techs were also very helpful and kind.

Unprofessional staff. Our cat is a rescue that was abandoned by the side of a road and gets very nervous in vehicles. The nurse who came to our vehicle to pick up our cat was visibly frustrated that our cat had urinated in their carrier over fear from the trip. The nurse looked at our cat and yelled at him about how much he stunk. Unfortunately vet appointments in the area were incredibly hard to get, otherwise we would have taken our pet to a different vet after this first interaction. Nurse was brusque and rude in their conversations with us, provided us with limited information, and seemed to just want to get rid of us. After all of that, the doctor claimed they weren't able to complete the examination and told us to go see a specialist instead. Vet was still willing to bill us in full though. I wish we had the positive experience others claim to have received. Look elsewhere for compassionate care for your pet.

I was very impressed with the time that Dr. Heaney spent with my dog. I did not feel rushed and she explained all the information clearly without becoming defensive when I asked for alternative approaches or had questions. This was my first visit, I changed from another local vet so I can not comment on the "normal" visit as full Covid protocols are in place currently. I did feel safe for both myself and my pet. The technician was very helpful. The whole process was a positive experience. Dr. Heaney clearly loves her patients.

Super quick and kind! My dog had an emergency and I called everywhere nearby. No where would except walk ins and this place did! I was extremely lucky and thankful for this place! They are amazing! The vets there are super kind and do everything to make pet owners feel comfortable

Although my beloved cat was not a regular patient here, her health issues often required an emergency outside of our regular vet's hours. The time she cut her mouth and nearly choked on ornamental grass, her nosebleed that couldn't wait for a 2 pm appt, and recently, her refusal to eat. Although checked by her own vet recently and another on Sunday, no one found the mass in her abdomen. Dr. Letendre did. We went to another facility for that ultrasound and tragically, the medical intervention appears to have killed her before her cancer got treated. NSVH followed up to see how she was doing. I called them to tell them she died. They sent a card. Very kind people with the sweetest canine ambassadors.

Amazing practice! Not only did Dr. Heaney personally come outside to speak with me after diagnosing my dog's ear problem, she took the time to explain treatment and preventative care in addition to sharing with me her experience with owning a skittish dog. Dr. Heaney reassured me that my dog will likely get over his being terribly afraid after surviving abuse and neglect in Puerto Rico. Erin, our Vet Tech, was warm and welcoming and went out of her way to reassure my dog while bringing him into the clinic. I highly recommend this Veterinarian practice. A+
