Twickenton Dog & Cat Grooming Dedham, Massachusetts

Specifically requested my dog not be shaved and she was and pretty much down to the skin. She looks terrible andwith cold weather we will need to wrap her up. Didn't truly notice until we got home. Very upset. It will grow back and then find a new groomer.

In what world is it okay to sedate someone’s dog without disclosing that you’re doing so? Further - if you’re going to send our dogs to planet zippy, at least do something more than slap some shampoo on them, dry them and call it a day. Never again. We paid as if we were provided the entire menu worth of services when all we got was two dogs who wanted to do nothing but chug water (clearly they didn’t get any for the 6 hours they were there) and sleep. For Pete’s sake, they weren’t this messed up when they were sedated for a spay and neuter and they are to have some shampoo slapped on them? Sure, let me run back to a cash only business that does that - seems legit.

I have brought my dog here twice and I would not recommend to anyone who cares about their pet or their wallet. Rather than having appointments they have an early morning drop off time and leave your pet locked up all day until they get to them, usually much later. I dropped my dog off around 8am, and when I called at 3pm they let me know they were just about to start his grooming. No indication that he has been let out to relieve himself or had any interaction. The grooming itself was mediocre at best, absolutely not worth the prices they charge (which are cash/check only.) Extremely disappointing and will not be returning.

One of the only places that grooms cats. We’ve been taking our cat here for over a year and love this place. it’s one of the few places that will actually do a great job grooming.

Such a ripoff… Just paid $115 for a haircut for my cat. Not even shampooing or drying… just a haircut done in less than an hour. And it’s nothing close to a fancy or a luxury location or service to justify the mind blowing cost. Plus they don’t take credit cards and it’s just cash or checks. As a reference, for the past 3 years I have been going to Toureen Pet Resort and Spa and only paid $65. I really feel robbed. My fault I did not ask in advance. Be aware! It’s going to be a once in a lifetime and never again experience.

I took my cat here for the first time on Saturday for her to get her to get her first lion cut and they did a excellent job so i will be going back

Poor job on my dog’s cut. Dropped off at 8:30 am and said we wanted a short puppy cut. I called at 3:30 pm to see if she was ready to be picked up (in the am they said 4pm so I took a chance to see if she was ready early). The women who answered said “he” was on her table now but no one told her what kind of cut we wanted. Needless to say, poor communication between their employees, a rush job that came out looking terrible (uneven shave all over, tail was not trimmed at all), not even knowing the gender of the dog and charging $70 for the poor job.

Twickenton always does an awesome job grooming my dogs. The cut is always right for the type of dog. They make sure to cut shorter in summer and leave more of a coat in winter. ❤❤

My shih tzu does not like grooming and is always a lot for groomers to handle. The groomers here always take such good care of him and he is slowly becoming less upset after a grooming appointment because of how gentle they are with him. I will continue coming here.

I was very disappointed with the quality of the grooming for my dog. When I picked him up he gave a good shake and hair went everywhere, which meant he wasn't brushed properly. His nails were clipped and I assume he was washed. Also I was quoted $55 and when I picked the dog up I gave them $60 and the woman didn't offer change. I would've given a tip but not even being asked if I wanted change took liberties IMO.

I am not the one to leave reviews like this, but this is absolutely THE WORST HAIRCUT I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. Not only did they not call me to tell me that they would be shaving my golden doodles and their tails (big no no for doods), but it was $200!! I understand that dogs can get matted, especially doods, but I have only seen dogs shaved like this that have been seriously neglected. When I picked them up the lady outside asked me what she could do and kept saying “I’m so sorry” because she could clearly see that I was upset. I said there was nothing that she could do and that I will try to fix it myself. It will take at least a year for their tails to grow back possibly even longer. I have posted before and after pics of my sweet girls and I am honestly so horrified at this entire experience. I live in Dedham and will be telling every single person that I know NEVER to go to your salon again and showing them these photos as well.

Years ago i brought one of my dogs to this place and i had forgotten why I never went back an today I was reminded. Brought my dog to get groomed, they meet you at the door to take your dog. when I arrived the woman asked me for the dogs rabies info (why not ask on the phone when the appt was made?) so I had to call my vet to get the dates of my dogs shots. The woman took my dog inside as I was on the phone, so I opened the door to give her the information, one of the woman started yelling to shut the door and she was yelling as though a dog could get out but there was no dog or anything around so I stepped in and then they started yelling I couldn't be in there. they were like a bunch of cranky old women... For me I feel as though I am brining you business if you have a policy in place that's fine but there is no need to yell at someone, as I was only getting them the info they asked for that they should ask before you get there so there are no issues. I personally didn't like them before and I still don't. They charge more then the other places and they are rude. Sorry but not said ill take my dog else where. If you are looking for a clean, friendly groomer it s the dog house in needham I am never disappointed there,

Needed a nail trim was able to get appointment that day. Quick in and out service, very friendly. Gave great advice to help my puppy get used to the grooming and nail trim process

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION.

I scheduled an appointment a week in advance, I emailed them and when they called me I left my dog’s name AND my number- so they had the necessary information to reach me. I called the morning of to confirm the appointment & they said they had to cancel it because someone called in sick. They claimed they didn’t have my information even though I gave it to them the week prior. It was completely inconvenient for me, not to mention my dog. I did not want to reschedule with them and will be taking my dog elsewhere. The woman on the phone showed a complete lack of empathy. Absolutely ridiculous!!

I could cry tears of joy writing this review. We adopted a cat who unfortunately gets really bad mats on his belly. He’s an older fellow but we tried to calmly do it ourselves and he was having none of it. We stumbled upon twinkelton and thank god we did. The groomer was so sweet, we told her about our situation and she didn’t bat an eye (his age we are unsure and he has very long fangs- but is friendly). As he can be shy, we were a tad nervous about how it’d go. She greeted him with open arms and took care of him within the hour. He’s home now and he’s so much happier thanks to this magical cat grooming woman who’s name I forgot to ask. She cleaned him right up and even provided insight on some unrelated pain she noticed he might have. I’ve found it hard to come by cat groomers in general led alone amazing ones but sometimes there are cats that need a little extra help grooming and ours is one. Please take your cat here if they’re in need, I promise you won’t regret it. She is amazing.

My dog looks incredible every time!

I love Twickenton and have been bringing my dogs here for many years. They are extremely professional and know how to handle both good and difficult dogs. They also know how to groom and cut. I have never been unhappy with a result or had a dog mishandlred. I totally trust them. At one time, I had a very difficult poodle, and Christine would meet me at the shop after hours so she could groom him in a quiet atmosphere. I just feel that they go above and beyond.

I just brought my cat in sour of the moment and they were so helpful. I thought she had an ingrown claw but they took her in immediately and cut them down and said that was not the issue. It only cost $15 and I have now made up my mind to bring her in for a full grooming in a month or so. They were kind, fast and willing to take her in immediately. I will definitely go back there.

Great first experience. Had our two cats groomed and shaved and our two dogs groomed. Everyone looked great and seemed very well taken care of. Cats feel great, you can tell, and they've never had a cuter lion cut!! Even our nervous dog was in great spirits, always a great sign!

Twickenton helped me with my very anxious rescue cat when no one else would. He would not even let us brush him but he is long haired, so matts started piling up in his fur. Even though he was high maintenance they still were able to give him a hygienic shave and got off all the matts! I am so grateful for their help and would definitely come here again. I saw several dogs leaving as well and they looked spiffy and happy! A five star experience all around. I 100% recommend them for cat or dog grooming.

We could not be more pleased with the exceptional grooming and service that we and our pup receive. We have a very challenging Shih Tzu that is not a fan of grooming, but they manage to do a wonderful job without stressing her out. We are always amazed at how well they are able to groom our very sweet girl (except for grooming time) so perfectly. Thank you!

Gumbo had his first grooming at Twickenton today and he looks fabulous! They did such a wonderful job and got his coat feeling so much lighter for summer. The staff was friendly and the price is extremely reasonable for the high quality of service. Will definitely return and get groomings more often knowing that we have such a great local business to support in our town!

This place is absolutely horrible and is not caring to either the pets or the owners. They treated me rudely and callously and my dog came out traumatized and shaking after I picked him up. I will not be giving Twickenton my service ever again and their licenses should be reviewed.

Very disappointed with the cut we got for our Bichon. Patchy and uneven cuts all over, even in easy to cut areas. Many groomers with better cutting ability for less in the area.

For $95 they do a Mickey Mouse job!!
